  1. Only 3 gals of fuel remaining ...
  2. Aerobask's DA 42 v2.0 (with my G1000 mod v1.5) from Innsbruck to Salzburg: Unfortunately the weather was too good for SkyMaxx showing its abilities And I love that lens flare... About the aircraft: It's a strange thing. The real Diamond DA-42 is, for my taste, not a very beautiful aircraft; it looks as if somebody has attached two overpowered engines to a small glider. However, I like Aerobask's rendition of this aircraft very much. It does not look photorealistic, not the style like Carenado and others have. Instead, it looks like from a glossy brochure, where everything is just too shiny to be real. Also, the avionics are X-Plane standard and therefore have only superficial similarities with a real G1000 (not even with my modifications). But still: This is a good X-Plane model. Flies fine and I might say (from what I've read about the real DA-42) quite believable for me.
  3. I don't think that memory is the problem here -- the scenery packages aren't loaded all at the same time Also, all these scenery errors are quite normal, I guess most users will have these in their log.txt file. Sometimes they are not even related to custom scenery. (I wonder for a long time when this stuff will be sorted by Laminar...) This said, I second your suggestion to temporarily remove all scenery and all plugins.
  4. Well modelled, but really needs static aircraft and ground traffic...
  5. As I said, why not simply switch it off with the existing setting? If you make the devs to remove the option from SkyMaxx, you force your own personal expectations (i.e. realism) upon all other users...
  6. Overcast quality affects how good or bad the overcast looks like. "Bad quality" is like a flat infinite grey rectangle on the sky, but the saviour of my frame rate, so a very important setting for me. Maybe you don't notice the difference if you have a fast computer. Higher settings are real clouds, naturally looking way better. Clouds are rotating. This setting is for how fast they rotate. If you don't like rotating clouds at all, set it to 0. Many other like the rotations. X-Plane does not have realistic moon phases and positons. (See this thread at the .org: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=77490 )
  7. Here are some pictures of my SkyMaxx Pro 2.0 test flight. The Cessna Corvalis is also from X-Aviation and still the only X-Plane aircraft with integrated (i.e. in 3d cockpit) plausible G1000.
  8. Thanks for mentioning my map. However, I agree that it's up to the person who offers a service to decide if it's free or not. I can tell you that even keeping a map up to date takes quite a lot of time. Because you not only have to add links, but also find, download, test and rate sceneries (at least that's what I do). So, if xpscenery.net ask for a small fee, it's totally okay.
  9. If this is true, then the developers should not only give credit, but read Ben's blog posting where he says that all these terra haze dataref manipulations should not be done, because these art controls will most likely change in the future: http://developer.x-plane.com/2014/05/art-controls-are-an-active-volcano/
  10. Hm, I did not need to activate SkyMaxx again. Strange.
  11. Very nice!! Do you already know when it will be released?
  12. Do you fly in real time, and if yes, what do you do during the flight?
  13. That's because the .ini file in that link does not work with the switch panel, only with the multi and the radio panel. To be honest, I would not use the switch panel for big aircraft, as they have much more systems than can be mapped to the switch panel. You would need to use the overhead panel in the 3D cockpit anyway (for example for landing lights, deicing, engine start), simply because these aircraft are more complex than a Cessna C172. In fact, I have deactivated the Saitek panels in aircraft like the Saab or the 757...
  14. I would be willing -- but am not able, because I also don't fully understand the manual. I use the switch panel only for small GA aircraft or for aircraft where the plugin author has predefined config files. You may ask him to offer one for the Saab.
  15. The Switch panel is working fine with the appropriate plugin, but it won't work (very well or at all) out of the box with the Saab, as all the Saab's systems are customly programmed. The same is, too varying degrees, true for any complex (i.e.: with custom systems) aircraft. You can try to create your own config file, though. There's a manual included with the plugin.
  16. I see. Good decision -- maybe X-Plane's new standard GPS will look and work better than the current one.
  17. I guess you are talking about the Garmin transponder -- not the Garmin GPS? Will the GTN430 be default?
  18. Oh. I always thought this was a bug. Is this mentioned in the manuals somewhere? O.o
  19. Very good!
  20. The "way out" is that either you or the developers of your addon scenery add exclusion zones where necessary.
  21. Added: LOWS Salzburg (Rating: "Good")UUBB Moscow Bykovo (Rating: "Good", well done, includes city near airport and UUBM Myachkovo nearby; Installing is a bit tedious, because you have to download 3 .zip files and the folders you have to copy to Custom Scenery are in subfolders of the .zips)UWLL Ulyanovsk (Rating: "Okay", nothing special, but good for a break when flying through Russia)LDPV Vrsar (Rating: "Okay"; nice airfield in great landscape at Croatia's coast; could get a "good" with a little more work; be sure to have the most recent version of R2_Library installed (which is 2013-05-04)
  22. added FIMP Maurice (rating "good") decreased rating of La Réunion (from "very good" to "good")
  23. PHNL Honolulu: changed download link to new version, increased rating to "good" added LYBE Belgrade; old scenery, but with high texture settings still looks "good" (the XP version is a legal freeware conversion of a FS9 payware) added NIUE Niue; rating "good"
  24. It seems that Aerosoft has purchased the rights to release this product as freeware for registered users of the Aerosoft forum: http://asn-xp.aerosoft.com/?p=6620 Mathijs Kok writes in the related thread: See: http://forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?/topic/77640-what-is-aerosoft-sky-tools-free/ You need to be registered there to see the thread. I wonder if this is really identical to the AWG project discussed in this thread.
