  1. How did you do this?
  2. I agree that Laminar's communication of the exclusion topic was not very efficient, as it only took place in Ben's blog which is probably more read by users who want to know how X-Plane will develop, but less by freeware authors, who often simply do something. The exclusion topic really belongs into the manual, and in other places than the development blog ...
  3. Nice! Do you know any good airports for Israel?
  4. You need to add exclusion zones for objects (and maybe facades, too) to KBOS. Well. Actually, the author of the KBOS scenery needs to add exclusion zones. This is the case for many, many sceneries, even payware sceneries since XP 10.25, and it will get worse once more airports are included by default.
  5. The scenery looks good, as far as I can tell from the quite hectic video with its aggressive music (in the 1st part)
  6. I actually had KGRR on the map a while ago. It has a nice-looking 3D object for the terminal building, but other than that it was somehow ... sterile for my taste. Given the relatively high number of airports in the region on my map, I removed it after adding 8D4.
  7. a ) SimHeaven offers two types of sceneries: (1) photo sceneries, mostly for Europe, in non-HD resolution and/or an older (v1) HD-resolution; (2) OSM sceneries for all continents. b ) You can use the new HD mesh (v2) together with (2), but not with (1). Some time in the future, the photo sceneries might be upgraded to use the v2 mesh. c ) +1
  8. 55 GB is surely not "just a couple". Anyway, for lots of the files you can use the torrents for downloading.
  9. You either have to buy flightsim.coms premium membership, or try again and again until it works (best without doing other Internet stuff while downloading to not interrupt the download), or you wait until more torrents are available.
  10. Maybe you should contact a professional scenery developer then? Team up with them, create a product?
  11. This is because X-Plane is based on OpenStreetMap data. You better invest your time to improve OpenStreetMap; then X-Plane will make use of it automatically.
  12. You are telling me! Explaining that to people is my job ...
  13. God, I really don't understand this impatience all the time. First thing is, if this is an American website, you should think in American time, not European. Second thing is, even if you can't use it this weekend, is this really so hard to live with? Then you're going to use it the next Saturday. I got cured from that during the Saab "release week"
  14. Then ... don't refresh? Wait until tomorrow?
  15. I think one reason is that redpiper has released the release video on YouTube, saying "available now". Better have waited with that until it's in the store
  16. I thought the same for your posts. *sigh* Anyway, sorry if you felt offended.
  17. Did you read my post? I posted 3 links that do NOT point at the .org, but the only thing you two recognize in my post is ".org"??? Seriously? Again: If you want to have missions, go to where missions are, or even better: Create them.
  18. You know Mission-X? Still very alive, last updated on Nov 16th. http://snagardev.weebly.com/plugins.html Download, read the docs (http://snagardev.weebly.com/documentation.html) and start creating missions Some sample missions: http://snagardev.weebly.com/missions.html More at the .org.
  19. I have made an update of the map. It now uses the new version of Google Maps: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/viewer?mid=zKdUoyDRH6j0.k7Q3rMFgZpe4 You can now separately show and hide freeware and payware, so it's easier if you are just looking for freeware.
  20. The official way is to uninstall and reinstall.
  21. Thanks for your impression and the screenshots!
  22. Can you give some details on the systems? It sounds as if the C90 has more systems depth than previous Carenado aircraft? How detailed is it really? How is the Avidyne done? Is it custom-made? (Maybe simply post a high-res screenshot of it.)
  23. There is none. Personally, I think there are only 2 good, modern military jets in X-Plane: The AMX International Fighter and the MiG-29. The AMX is not exactly an icon in military aviation, but the X-Plane model is well done, esp. since it simulates JDAM bombing mode. The MiG is esp. good since the update 1.5, which improved both the handling and the textures. Even before it was good, but now it's even better. There are some more (e.g. a F-16), but not on par with what one would expect as minimum from today's payware. If you're just searching for a good aircraft, take the AMX or MiG. If you are bound to the Eurofighter, well ... even in reality many of them are grounded (at least in Germany, which seems to have no luck with its military project *fg* ).
  24. Is the exclusion zone of the correct type? Usually you need at least one for facades and one for objects. You can add your own exclusion zone, though.
  25. What is important for Carenado are two things: 1. Their X-Plane aircraft should behave like the FSX versions. However, even then the X-Plane versions usually have better flight models than the FSX versions. 2. Carenado has never been a training level company and will never be, neither for FSX nor XP. Most Carenado customers are not interested in detailed simulations, as Dan Klause pointed out a while ago.
