Learjet 25 C, early morning... Happy flying ! 8)
-
Hi all ! Did you see this video ? 8)
-
I guess most joystick drivers for Windows are doing this... if not, or if the drivers bring problems, Google will give you a great choice of solutions. On GNU/Linux you can use these tools: Joy2key (this one is also available as an Ubuntu package in Synaptic), Rejoystick or QJoyPad. I did not test them for X-Plane views but they help for my TeamSpeak "push to talk" key when I'm flying online.
-
Hi Alex ! Did you try a 3rd party tool like explained here ? http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=291487 Happy flying. 8)

I saw this... here's a link: http://aviation-safety.net/database/record.php?id=20100728-0

Did they focus on airport buildings, on the color of the ocean near tropical islands, or on default clouds ? Were they unable to takeoff in X-Plane because they did not find the parking brake key ? Did they forget how FS9 looks like without any add-on ? It's hard to understand why they prefer FS9 out of the box if there's no argument, but here is a nice collection of FS9 screenshots: http://www.avsim.com/pages/0803/fs2004_review/part1_intro/part1_intro.html http://www.avsim.com/pages/0803/fs2004_review/part2_aircraft/part2_main.html http://www.avsim.com/pages/0803/fs2004_review/part3_scenery/part3_scenery.html http://www.avsim.com/pages/0803/fs2004_review/add-ons/addon.html Today, not only X-Plane looks better, but also FlightGear: http://www.avionic-online.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=17181 But FlightGear is still behind when you test the flight models. And FSX has a big problem with the "average" computer. This is still true 4 years after the release of FSX, and this may explain why 69% of IVAO's traffic is still using FS9.

Same here... I would love to go ! Hey just visit their website and listen to this nice webradio: 8) http://www.airventure.org/radio/

;D That's true, default XP9 looks much better, but please don't forget this: 1) In 2 days, FS9 will be 7 years old. 2) You'll never find a FS9 fan using a default FS aircraft. They're all using tons of add-ons. If someone uses a default aircraft, it's not a fan, it's a newbie. Happy flying, and happy birthday FS9 !

Good thing he could eject ! But it's a F18: http://www.vancouversun.com/news/Pilot+narrowly+escapes+crash/3318010/story.html

Did you know the 787 is also available on the AVSIM store since Wednesday ? http://www.simpilot.com/servlet/the-176/Boeing-787-Dreamliner/Detail

I don't think this stuff gets more talk... Here it's the very first topic where I discover this B742, although on most forums, I'm an "active topics" junkie. I also don't think the org is an embarrassement for X-Plane. It's only an embarrassement for people who think the org is an important website and who focus on products looking like FlightGear 0.7.x aircrafts. You want to see what people are talking about ? Just look here, on the very famous and popular AVSIM Screen Shots Forum: Cessna 152: "Those cockpit shots are amazing, very nicely done.", "STELLAR VC shots man! Love it!", "Getting up to FSX standards... From a VC perspective at least...." http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=290602 Paine Field: "Lovely shots there. Can I ask what scenery this is?" http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=290529 Yak-55M: "Sweeet! Where did you get it?", "Great virtual cockpit shots! The plane looks fantastic", "Excellent, now we're talking xplane!" http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=288769 Sundowner: "Lovely cockpit captures.", "Nice shots! The VC looks really tempting." http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=286183 XPFR Paris seen from the cockpit of the Falco: "Beautiful scenery, I love the 2nd shot!" http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=284959 Cessna 182T above RealScenery Arizona: "Love the cockpit shot. May I ask who's Cessna is that?" http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=285778 MU-2: "Is that aircraft for fs9? If so, from where please?" (you should see his smileys) http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=281152 Seamax: "I love this little aircraft! The panel shots are great. Which add-on is this?" http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?showtopic=281271 Believe me... no one is talking about this B742. And if no one is talking about it on the AVSIM Screen Shots forum, it just doesn't exist. MSFS users may not know what a flight model is (they often fly with PowerPoint-like framerates), they may not know what flight dynamics are, but they are very good when it comes to see what's looking awesome. Just register on the AVSIM forums and show them your very best X-Plane screenshots. Just show them that at least for general aviation and some sceneries, they can also find eye candy in X-Plane. Happy flying ! 8)

A new FSBreak host from the X-Plane community ?
MdMax replied to MdMax's topic in General Discussion
I also love this show and that’s why I would like to hear someone from the X-Plane community as a host. This show is not only for MSFS add-ons. It’s something for all flight simulation enthusiasts. They said they want "diversity". Today they’re all PMDG/Carenado/Orbx fans and that's fine, but it's also why a new additional host who uses mainly another simulator would be great. Mark Stewart made a great job describing X-Plane’s flight dynamics, or awesome sceneries like Inside Passage. But he’s a very busy man. I can understand if you don’t have time or if you’re too shy. But this would have been a good way to show the work that has been done by all the X-Plane developers, and to explain why we love X-Plane. Or do you know a better way for X-Plane promotion ? Let's hope they'll find a host for diversity who follows what's happening at X-Aviation, C74, the Org, XPlaneFreeware, XPFR and all the other X-Plane websites. Happy flying ! 8) -
Hi Riccardo ! Excellent video ! I love it. Just don't forget your landing lights for the next approach ! Well I should not criticize... just look here, I forgot to lock the canopy: http://forum.ivao.aero/index.php/topic,152302.msg1277811.html#msg1277811 :-[

Hi All ! Who is listening to the FSBreak shows ? Did someone listen to the latest show ? They were even talking about the X-Plane fog. 8) In the end of the show they asked for applications for new hosts. It would be cool to have a X-Pilot.com member in this show. Don’t ask me, my English is horrible. They’re often talking about X-Plane and that’s great. Just look at their impressive podcast index. They even interviewed Austin Meyer, Ben Supnik, the XP Jets team, Cameron about the CRJ… but I think it would be a great addition if they have someone from the X-Plane community as a host. In the news of the last few weeks, they forgot to talk about some excellent new X-Plane add-ons, including the Sundowner and the Yak-55M. They also promised a review for the Falco, but will they really have the time to do this ? Will they talk about the new Paine Field scenery for X-Plane and the brand new Cessna 152 ? We already have great reporters here like Simon from the X-Plane10 Blog. Simon, do you have a microphone ? Would you like to be a host of this show ? Then just send them an e-mail ! Who else would like to hear a member from the X-Plane community as a host in this show ? Happy listening ! ;D

I would say it looks better than Abacus where the virtual cockpit is a joke with default 737-400 radio gauges. But it's the same price and if you compare the systems it's close to Abacus. If I want to fly a liner, I still prefer using a good old Level-D 767-300ER on FS2004. A great product.

Hi all ! It's now available ! (And it's far from the price of a Bugatti Veyron... $29.95) http://store01.prostores.com/servlet/x-planestore/Detail?no=229 Sorry, I'll wait for user comments and reviews before deciding if I buy it or not. Happy flying.

It's looking awesome ! 8) Just great ! ;D But you forgot your navigation lights.
-
Very nice ! Thank you for this interview ! 8)

Beechcraft Sundowner C23 from Kingman to Prescott (AZ) 8)
-
Hi Zach ! I guess that's just because the real one has a fixed landing gear. According to Wikipedia, only the Model 24 Sierra has a retractable landing gear: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sundowner_(plane)

Very nice website and interview ! 8) Thank you for the link Simon ! The MU-2 was the very first payware add-on I bought for X-Plane. Until the MU-2, I was buying only MSFS add-ons. I also wouldn't mind to pay for an upgraded & refined MU-2.
-
Simon, just try the demos of these sceneries... ;D but here 2 pictures more close to the ground.

Arizona looks awesome with this scenery !
