  13. ok, ok, I will make a tut video for this WHOLE XPPT series... plus 1 extra... background information...
  14. Ok, you do that gradient thing by selecting where/whatever you want to be graidentied (hm... i think theres a REAL word for that) and going from top to bottom if youre doing a horizontal line or from side-to-side if youre doing a vertical line... It will probably look like theres a sharp corner sitcking into the shine, you can get rid of that by blurring it with the blur tool (dont overdo it though-it could look weird...) If you want examples just ask hampster to post those examples that I made (sry i deleted them).... their detailed but their without words... Oh, Steve theres a free version of Fireworks by Adobe (I think)... I personally use the FULL version on Photoshop (kind of expensive for a 13 year old... i saved 4 years for it xD
  15. i might be missing something, this went from stars, to fighting over stars, to star fetishes, to mario stars and than Lucky Charms MUSHROOMS??? HOW????
  16. I think the White Knight One, (yes i am a "helper" on that) dont forget the 737 Classic and the essential XP-10
  17. Helpful Helper 1 Approves of Release!! You are Clear to Land!!
  18. ok, so the aircraft manuals will be on the iPad and Inside the aircraft for redundancy... but the flight plans and other stuff will just be on the ipad but not on the acft or carried on by the pilot?
  19. ok, ok maybe they should mount USB slots in the cockpit so they can charge their ipads.... maybe mounted to the side of the throttle quadrant... and how would it be lighter if they had all of that paper anyways?? it would just be an additional 1.33 lbs...
  20. uh, I dont even recommend projectors as teh space requirements and wash-out issues You also need a perfectly flat and white surface or it will not display properly. I was thinking like maybe 2 Apple 27" thunderbolts should do or, if you want touch functionality, 2 or 3 apple iPads will do as long as you have that one EFIS app or whatever... Retina displays for the up-close stuff... and besides you can use iPads for alot more too... Maybe a custom machine will do... A high-end processor and 2 good graphics cards mounted to a motherboard and inside a case... Check out Orange Computers or Puget Systems-Puget if you want to REALLY customize and water-cool... (just search on google) if id recommend a TV for use it would be one of Vizio's here is a 42" but its expensive: in the thousands http://www.vizio.com...s/xvt423sv.html heres a tad bit cheaper 3D one for about $900... http://www.vizio.com...xvt3d424sv.html
  21. Consider this: Both Pilot and Co-Pilot forget to charge their iPads the day before flight. Later in flight, the engine #1 and 3 shut off unexpectedly and the radio fails. They did not memorize the checklist for multiple engine failures and restarts and thus, since they did not bring "38 pounds of paper" with them they cannot restart the engines. Paper does not require batteries or charging cables to operate... Paper is safer but iPads are cheaper long-term....
  22. ah.... I CANT WAIT TO SEE!!!!! very nice job on the preview...
  23. you CAN do almost everything you listed. the Logitech products (sry CH website was down) are the Extreme 3D Pro joystick as I have had mine for over 3 years now. I highly suggest getting the G13 gameboard from Logitech as well as it helps with common functions like gears and breaks. I suggest the Saitek rudder pedals, (the combat or normal, normal has toe breaks) and Saitek for the quadrant as well. As for the computer side of things, If you have a powerful enough graphics card and processor it is fully possible to have 2 screens but I do not know about having scenery on one and the panel on the other. If you want to hook up more mac minis go for it (im a mac guy, any windows guy would recommend some windows computer) but I do not know how you would do that. I do admit that a 22" screen is kind of small for a panel, you should try a 25" or 27" (the new thunderbolt powered one is supposed to run cooler or something)
  24. it works fine for me inside or outside of the Aircraft folder. I wonder if it is a plugin that caused this as when I upgraded to 9.7it kept crashing until I deleted some of my plugins.
