IIRC The aircraft is Navigraph updateable yes? If so is there an existing format to use or will there be a new spedific installer/format released by navigraph?
-
I bought it on pre-order. I flew it once. It's absolutely brilliant for adding a purpose to your flying, but I'm not bothered by the economics and get everything else for my virtual airline. A nice program that's just not really for me - however I'm glad I threw money to support people coming into the x-plane market. YMMV.

What would you expect from payware scenery?
Kesomir replied to OlaHaldor's topic in General Discussion
Expectation is dependent on the price. I buy Tom Curtis' sceneries because they cover a large area and make a big enough difference for me for the price. I buy OrbX sceneries when on sale for the same reason. A single airport would for me need to be somewhere I fly and that means flyable for my VA. I would like beautifully textured 3d buildings, accurate layout and parking. Quality ground textures would be a plus (I prefer artisitc, not ortho, but that may just be me). If we start going higher pricewise then FSX side payware has moving people, vehicles etc but x-plane is a different market. -
Just grab a disc image and an emulator from Ian Bell's Site (half the team that wrote Elite, but apparently not as self-aggrandising as David Braben). http://home.clara.net/iancgbell/elite/game.htm I recommend the BBC Version (or possibly the Archimedes one) http://home.clara.net/iancgbell/elite/bbc/index.htm

This means no pictures of clouds are on the orthophotos (displayed on the ground), you still get x-plane clouds, rex or not.

It's really the peoplemoton in combination with shrubbery that sets this scenery apart. I think the weather enhancement is just an artists impression and not intended for the final product.

lovely ksgy, keep it up

Looked alright when I had a play and the menus worked fine.

Update of the Mentor. 1.1 version. List of changes done.
Kesomir replied to Japo32's topic in Beechcraft T34C Mentor
I've not seen an update email yet either steven. Not impatient for it either - looking forward more to the saab and find the Mentor enjoyable to fly as is. -
Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental first takeoff and landing today

Nice mountains, shame about the plane -
If it requires XPUIPC though that stops dead in the water. and pffft Noutvan. Come over and fly with us at Euroharmony. You'll fit right in

I know about mono, I just don't see it happening - most windows devs don't own a mac and very few would bother with linux's market share. Perhaps I'll be surprised and next week a mac version will be announced, but I think it unlikely; at least at the moment as most of these products are possible because of XPUIPC (the site does mention the use of FSUIPC for the MSFS version, but I make no claims regarding the x-plane version - it may well be custom plugin based). Perhaps if the PC version does ok, they may think about it. However, as I sim on PC and get to play with all the candy - it's a fight for someone else to take up, perhaps by petitioning the devs/publisher to take a look at the mac x-plane market. Look at REX and how easy that should be to port, it's only a wrapper for cloud textures. I love announcements like this and the Aerosoft one because they indicate the opportunity to get more toys for my favourite sim.

You pays your money and takes your choice. I own macbook (typing on now) and a 2010 imac, but I sim on an i7 pc (+dell laptop) built for the purpose. Flight simulation is an expensive hobby, but my PC is a small outlay for a solid return in gaming performance. It would be wonderful to have all the MSFS app converts working cross-playform, but in the real world I don't see a .net application being rewritten to work on mac and linux to just dip toes in the x-plane water. The smaller changes to support x-plane on the pc now is still a good thing for x-plane as a whole and could later on lead to a decision to write cross platform in the future. Air hauler is a utility like cargo pilot where you set up and manage a cargo company. You buy or lease planes, hire AI pilots in addition to yourself and fly cargo runs to improve your company reputation and money to allow you to expand your 'company' and routes. It loads the planes etc and auto records flights. A tool for adding some purpose to flying as virtual airlines and other tools like fspassengers do.

Quoted from my JustFlight newsletters: AIR HAULER FOR X-PLANE 9 X-Plane PC pilots will soon be able to join the worldwide Air Hauler community! The amazing air freight management and flying simulation that spawned a huge (and very competitive!) worldwide community will be available on the 25th March in a new version developed specifically for X-Plane 9 PC users. Air Hauler for X-Plane 9 will be released by Download and is now available to pre-order now at the discounted price of £18.35 / €22.45 / $27.55, with a pre-order bonus of 300 Just Rewards points. On the release date the price will revert to the usual £20.40 / €25.50 / $30.65. We're sure the AirHaulic community will extend a very warm welcome to all new freight flyers! I think it would be far easier for them to convert scenery (using the same industry standard approach as with their plane models). Thing is, the twotter would be an easier plane conversion, but the airbusx would be a more complicated with all the custom code - in planes, the 3d is a smaller part of the whole. Not saying it can't be done - it can. Converting is much faster than writing from scratch. However, 3d is far more work than the planemaker flight model and programming appears to take (depending on complexity) longer than the 3d modelling. I'd love to see all Aerosoft products in x-plane though and my wallet is open
-
I don't tend to buy scenery for fsx because of the fps issue when combined with decent aircraft - would love to be able to get aerosoft sceneries in a sim where they can be run at an acceptable frame rate.
-
Come on - you know it's more than likely that aircraft will have DRM, all of Tom's planes do. The caravan does look good, but *cracks whip* back to the mu-2 with you Tom! The update looks to good to wait for and roll on v10.

Update of the Mentor. 1.1 version. List of changes done.
Kesomir replied to Japo32's topic in Beechcraft T34C Mentor
Are both versions included in the update? Just not sure why two separate 1.1 versions are being offered is the jrollon only one easier to fly? -
LOL. Worth a rep point that one.

I see from the org release post that a complete light texture set is supplied - would be interesting to hear what effect this has on that machine. Hehe interesting to have those probs on the mac pro, but while it's a great machine, it is I think largely unutilised in x-plane 9 (but set to rule in xp10) - lots of cores not fully used, the ram not used etc. Especially when coupled with hefty scenery. I imagine better performance would be seen on an overclocked i7 with a high end video card. Isn't there a thread over there that allows people to post specs and a benchmark score?

Lis, Can we also get permission to reproduce this at http://www.fly-euroharmony.com/forum/ (or standing permission to reproduce from your tutorial/inforial posts) like last time? Regards -
I've been following your blog http://x-plane.hu/cms/let-l410-elkezdtem with the help of google translator. Looking forward to this one as my VA are intending to introduce it to our fleet as a replacement for our aging SU-80 model.

Hey ksgy is that a turbolet?
