  1. I also run Windows 7 X64 and x-plane 9. Like Cameron, my first thought is that something is assigned to throttle axis. Full throttle will normally not be stopped by brakes. It might help if you state what hardware this is you have connected. I have to manually assign all my hardware to x-plane axis / commands. Changing USB devices breaks the setup too.
  2. Captain sim guages and round knobs to illustrate what I mean. I'm not criticising x-plane models at all, I prefer the smoother frames I get in the sim, just wondered if there was a magic 'smooth circle' option in FSX.
  3. Question: Why is it that x-plane models on curves obviously show the straight edges and in FSX they look smoother and rounded? (guage circles) Is it a rendering effect done in the sim, but not in x-plane, or are fsx models just higher poly?

It's definately a lot better than Heinz previous, but I'm hit with the thought that it's still at Abacus quality. But, still in development, so we'll see. - Painted on FMC looks flat and both render baking and texturing need to be sorted.
  5. As I forgot to link it in last post: http://www.tosi-online.de/First.html
  6. By installing the XPUIPC plugin, running x-plane then running fscommander and hitting connect to fs. yup simple as that. XPUIPC has come a long way and I also use it to interface with my VA's flight logging application.
  7. Core i7 @ 3.8GHz ATI Radeon HD4870x2 6GB DDR3 I think default settings gives 120-140ish fps iirc, but I have settings cranked up to ultra textures, loads of objects, roads etc. get about 40 odd fps with that, depending on the addon aircraft and scnery at the time.
  8. also the fact that you can pick up an install folder, move it to another machine and run the exe.
  9. Ah - do you have x-p[lane installed in the program files area? Mine is installed outside of this so no uac problems. Running as adin might fix, or moving the x-plane folder outside of the program files path.
  10. I'm sure cameron. It's a nice plane - I just want to paint it in my Virtual Airlines Livery
  11. I use fscommander. Connects to x-plane for moving map via xpuipc too.
  12. Even a paint kit to change the visual without altering the number would be a start. Not being able to repaint sucks.
  13. First issue I see to report is that the wheels float above the ground. It's most noticeable on the front. Very nice aircraft though. Enjoying it immensely, especially now I have permission to use it as a substitute for the SR22 on my VA's tours
  14. I have win7 x64 and don't have the issue, so it must be something else.
  15. http://www.rcsimulations.com/press1.html Woohoo!
  16. Looks amazing, definately on my list.
  17. Make sure to have 64bit windows 7 to go with that - you won't be able to use most of the ram on 32bit. It's a nice machine, you'll get very nice framerates at beautiful settings with that.
  18. Any machine that runs FSX at at that res with 20fps
  19. X-plane is written and cross compiled from a mac I believe. Unfortunately, driver support is better on windows, as is the range of available hardware.
  20. hehe learnt the dangers of drink posting before
  21. Only if you don't value your time to be worth anything!
  22. I run an overclocked core i7 + radeon HD4870 x2 at 1980x1200 with maxed textures, and loads of traffic, objects, trees etc. I think the mac is a nice machine, but from what I hear, you may do better installing windows on it to run x-plane as I think the graphics drivers may be better on pc than windows. The CPU is powerful, but textures will come down to the GPU, so a better card will help. In my case (and I did look seriously) it was better top purchase a top quality large dell monitor (27") and the corei7 (self assembled). this is cheaper and will allow easier uprades in the future. If you're set on having a mac for other reasons than x-plane, then that's a very nice machine, although the GPU is a little dated now and the imac is not upgrade friendly after purchase.

  25. Rafael's last post was that he was hit by the haiiti catastrophe, so afaik the project is currently dead.
