  1. It all comes down to personal preference. Some people like a clean Saab. Some like it dirty. Some like it worn. If we were to make them further worn, it would most probably throw in another delay. However, just today, I mentioned to Theo that I would like to see more oil on the main gear doors. The look we're aiming for is relatively new with some hours flown in them. So they look "maintained". There will be a paintkit provided for those of you who would like a particular look to paint for yourselves.
  2. There are quite a lot of lights in the panel. I think 10 at last count. The artificial horizon looks like that because the instrument lights are turned up
  3. The one Javier is making will be a default version for XP10. It will not have a custom FMC. The one I am making with Nick and Theo will resume as soon as the Saab 340 is complete (any day now). It will have full suite of avionics and a custom FMC programmed to function like the real one. Time estimate for finishing it...Sometime in Q1-Q2 of 2012.
  4. Is it safe to say that most (possibly all) people who bought Oahu are flying only around Oahu and nowhere else? Eric...what have you done!?
  5. You may be surprised. Displays can be done with png's. The only heavy duty time consuming thing for the 744 is the FMC. I know one thing. I can model and animate a 744 in about half the time it takes to model and animate a 742.
  6. Not yet. There are a FEW systems in the -8 that are different to a -400. The cockpit layout is almost identical and once we finish the coding for the -400 systems, we will be using them (including the FMC) for projects further down the line. Other Boeing products are far from out of the equation. It definitely is a sexy plane though. Kinda looks like a -400 on steroids.
  7. The -8 (not -800) has a supercritical airfoil and the specs for it have not been made available to the public yet (AFAIK). We will not be guessing figures purely to make something that may be in high demand. If the airfoil specs and ALL system specs are made public, then sure, we'll look further into it.
  8. Can Gizmo model all that?
  9. I'll see if I can also get a bunch of REX flight plans. I don't think it should be too difficult.
  10. Ah, Damn! Actually trying to picture Nicolas flying the BK in XA colors. Na, can't picture it. It's like chalk and cheese.
  11. That's unreal! Damn, I'd love to see some XA stuff in those colors.
  12. I like to think of it as a symbiotic relationship. Some damn fine scenery you made there, Eric. I'm still hopeful for an Australia Real Scenery title.
  13. A little cruise around the new Oahu scenery.
  14. I kinda prefer horizontal menus. But that's just a personal preference. Other than that, looks fine.
  15. Mmmm, Cameron. Nice screenshots.
  16. I might make an Mi-24 just for this type of exercise. That'll separate the men from the boys.
  17. Very slick, Arti. Look forward to hearing more of your work.
  18. He isn't the first. He won't be the last.
  19. Absolutely no chance whatsoever! JUST KIDDING I've shown the manual to 2 other XA developers as well as Cameron and Theo. I've gotten feedback and yes, it is sufficient and covers what you need to know but it could be prettier. So I'm snazzying it up a bit. I'll see what I can do by the end of the weekend. There are also checklists to finish and it's also been decided to do a tutorial on how to fly it so study time can be minimized. I've been flying testing it a lot in the last few days and it's definitely a fun and addictive aircraft to fly.

    Project 3

A bit of night lighting. We're still working on nagging bits and pieces in the systems. We want to clean those up before release. edit: changed from thumbnail to full screenshot
  21. POH is done. Checklists are done. Textures and mesh are done. Night lighting is done. All animations (with the exception of some custom autopilot datarefs) are done. Manipulators are done. Coding still being worked on, custom Autopilot stuff. VERY close.
  22. Can I just mention something. You telling Tom that he is wrong is like telling Austin Meyer that he is wrong. Tom is one of the top developers for x plane. He has made 1 of the highest selling add ons for x plane...MU 2. Trust me, he knows what he is talking about.
  23. Gonna be a BIG year. I'm definitely interested to see the publics reaction.
  24. This should be interesting. They haven't confirmed it yet but they have said they like X Plane 10, or what they have seen of it, a lot. Going to be an interesting year. http://www.forum.aerosoft.com/index.php?showtopic=44123&view=findpost&p=295158
  25. Like Cameron said, we're really pushing the realism factor. We (Theo, Cameron and myself) have had many, many discussions about what can and can't be modelled. These discussions go back a couple of months. Whenever there is a delay, it's usually because I found another cool feature to add and then having a meeting with Cameron about the possibility of adding it while I do the manual. Some of these systems take a while. For example, the anti ice system took about 2 weeks to code. I've actually been thinking about putting the manual up prior to release. It's still not done but it's getting there. I've done about 100 pages so far with only a few more to go and then checking everything.
