  1. The first thing you need to think about is what type of aircraft. Please don't be like everyone else who starts making aircraft by building a popular airliner. You need to learn to crawl and walk before you can run. Choose something small and easy like some kind of ultralight or single engine GA. You will learn a lot and you will see your creation take flight a lot sooner than something a lot larger. Download Blender. Check their forums for ideas and tips. Youtube has an excellent collection of videos on Blender modeling tutorials. Don't rush. Take the time to learn. It's ok to make mistakes. That's how you learn.
  2. Our Saab cabins are cleaned by some of the best cleaners in X-Plane. We also have military grade polarizing skin attached to the windows to totally eliminate reflections.
  3. It's been a while since I've flow the Saab, but we have included charts for the landing in the manuals folder. You should check those out and adjust airspeed accordingly. For the loadout, the Saab uses the default X-Plane load manager in the aircraft dropdown menu within the sim.
  4. Reflections aren't hard to do at all. But we would rather do them properly now...with shaders. Not textures. We're trying to keep moving forward with every aircraft. Adding new stuff. We don't want to recycle old techniques.
  5. Procedure level saab 340A simulation with tens of thousands of lines of code that replicate the real systems to just about 100% accuracy, tested and approved by a Saab 340 captain and FO and you want...window reflections? Give yourself an uppercut, scotch!
  6. Yes. But some things are happening that involve the Saab and will be mentioned in due time.
  7. We had a Saab 340 captain with over 4000 hours and an FO with about 2000 hours help us with every part of this aircraft and its systems. Definitely not a "jump in and fly" add on. Please make sure you read the manual. It covers everything you need to know.
  8. Make sure you are in some kind of alt select mode. Climb mode might be best and that has different climb profiles.
  9. Please make sure you hold the Autopilot button for about 2-3 seconds in the on position. If you don't hold it, it will snap back and that is probably why the aircraft is pitching down. As for the Gust lock, please read this
  10. Nothing shell-like in these systems. Everything is being coded to just about 100% accuracy (according to the documentation we have) based on flow charts and schematics. It's not a case of "if switch is turned on, then illuminate this light bulb." It's "if switch is turned on, activate relay, close circuit, etc, etc, etc and turn on light bulb" (My version of code). Too early to mention any kind of feature list, but it's very safe to say that people will be very happy at what we have included.
  11. I'm sure there are SOME airlines who do it the way it was done in the film.
  12. No problem, pinky. Just letting you know where we stand
  13. It is? No one told me. On a more serious note...I would really appreciate it if people wouldn't speculate on the progress of our add ons. The Saab was considered vaporware by many people and we shut them up when it was released. Something as complex as the 747-200 isn't something we can whip up in 6-12 months. Complex airliners take several years to get right. Unfortunately, we cannot dedicate all our time to this project because we need some income coming in, which is why we're doing these smaller aircraft (Citation, Saab, etc...) and the 747 is being worked on occasionally on the side. This WAS going to be a LITE add on, but that's not the road LES is taking any longer. We're committed to creating procedure level add ons that are AS complex as the real aircraft (or VERY close to it). If there is any news to share about this aircraft's future, including it's status as vaporware, it will be done by either myself, Jim, Theo or Cameron. Until then, this project is still on the table and is still planned for release some time in the future.

  15. We'd rather not give out release dates. We gave out a release week for the Saab, which we were not able to meet due to some unforeseen bugs that we wanted to fix for initial release and quite a few people were getting frustrated and calling the Saab vaporware. We'll keep posting screenshots and a video or 2, and when it's in the store, we'll make a post in these forums.
  16. If I bought an add on that was advertised as UHD, and it wasn't, I wouldn't be happy with what I have. Not by any stretch.
  17. It would be far more impressive if you did it in FSX. (tongue firmly planted in cheek!)
  18. I'm glad someone mentioned this. Not to mention someone who actually understands texture sizes and resolution. I've had many head shaking moments when I read about Ultra High Definition Textures in other add ons.
  19. Try scrapping your preferences. Go to: X-Plane 10/Output/preferences Take every single file out of there and put them somewhere safe outside of the X-Plane folder. Restart X-Plane and let it rebuild your preferences. Then load the Saab. If this works, permanently delete your old preferences. You will have to set up your hardware again. If it DOES NOT work, move your preferences files back to the preferences folder.
  20. There have been a few rare occasions where people have reported this, but in all cases, it was because the Condition Levers were too far forward (past max). Also, I only just saw your screenshot, and it appears your Prop RPM is way too low for the Power setting and Condition Lever setting. Not sure why this is happening, but that is why you're moving too slow. Have you tried restarting the sim? Do you have any other plug ins that might be interfering with Gizmo in any way? In some cases, these issues can be resolved by reinstalling the add on.
  21. Make sure the Condition Levers are not FULLY forward. Full forward position is Torque Lock. There is a detent just before that and that detent is full position.
  22. No problem. All updates will be posted here, so keep checking back.
  23. Just to possibly satisfy your curiosity. Of course, we're limited to X-Planes handling of sounds, but they're pretty close.
  24. As far as I know, we haven't had anyone else complain about the sounds sounding like an "old windmill". Here's a video showing the exterior with engines running that sound like a, well, a DC-3. The sounds were recorded in stereo, from a real DC-3 by Vance Dylan at Sonic Solutions. No, there is nothing you can do to change them and we have no plans on doing anything further with them. Hope that answers your question.
