  1. What I was referring to with the "I told you so" remark was the comment I posted in your request for advice when you were looking into buying the iMac. I recommended against updating to Lion. Just sayin'.....
  2. Well, I hate to say "I told you so," but, I told you so! I took a look at your log.txt and off the bat, I don't see any glaring issues. However, I would suggest dumping Airport Navigator. It has known issues. I know a lot of guys swear by it, but I just swear AT it. I'm sure it's some sort of OS incompatibility. Don't just disable the plugins. Physically remove all your non-essential plugins to a Plugins_Disabled folder. Then, one by one, add them and start up X-Plane each time you add one. Try that process and let us know how it goes.
  3. I would stay with whatever system your new iMac came with. My experiences with new versions has been to wait at least 9 months from release date before I upgrade. But I am very leery of putting a new system on a machine that came with a perfectly good operating system. I've been burned too many times!
  4. Good decision, dude! I'm just a little jealous, but hopefully within the next couple of weeks I'll be able to replace my dead MacBook Pro with a new one with the 1GB video card. Then I can get back to some serious flight time!
  5. You guys are lightweights! Most of my bulk is scenery.....
  6. Over the past 11 months I have spent over $1100 at the org......planes, scenery and all my Saitek gear. I bought the Challenger on July 25th and have no intention of buying any other aircraft from the org at this time. So I wrote to Nicolas, not because I really wanted the KLAX scenery (I have some that I'm perfectly happy with) but because I think I deserve to have the scenery because of my previous patronage of the org. He agreed and sent me the link! I'll take a look at the scenery, but I don't imagine I'll keep it installed, based on the screenshots I've seen. I'll let you know what I think once I take a look at it.
  7. I own all of Carenado's X-Plane offerings. I also own the Sundowner, the Duchess, the MU-2, the Mentor, the Falco, the Corvalis, the 4Forces C152 and the Tecnam P92. There is no lack of definition or crispness in the Carenado textures. Of course, your settings in X-Plane rendering options will dictate what they look like on your system. If you like the Leading Edge aircraft, you'll like the Carenado offerings, too.
  8. Check it out! Carenado's latest X-Plane offering is available now. http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php?accion=product&correl=61
  9. Dangit! You're absolutely correct! It all works so seamlessly I forgot that I had to download and install TWO plugins, one from the org and the other from Sandy Barbour's site. Plugin for the Radio and Multi Panels: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=9116 Plugin for the Switch Panel: http://www.xpluginsdk.org/saitek.htm Sorry for the confusion......I flew all night!
  10. Oops! Forgot to mention my rudder pedals. Wouldn't fly without 'em! Needless to say, all the Saitek gear works fine on a Mac even if the website doesn't mention it.
  11. I have the following Saitek gear and it is all pretty much "plug and Play" on my Macs: Switch Panel, two Radio panels,Multi Panel, TPM Throttle module and two regular throttle quadrants. The switches on the TPM module don't function properly. Someone needs to write a plugin for the switches to function properly. But all the other controls, buttons and switches on all the other panels work just fine and are configurable in the Settings>Joystick, Keys & Equipment menu. No software to install. Piece of cake!
  12. Thanks for the enlightenment.
  13. You're absolutely right. Call me stupid, but I have no idea what your drift is.
  14. Sheesh! The comment was made in jest and in reference to the rant thread concerning copyright and file manipulation. But that's the beauty of this forum. We can comment on whatever we want.....assumptions or facts. I simply assume you had written permission to convert the scenery in accordance with the license agreement you entered into when you bought the scenery, correct?
  15. Converted BluePrint scenery ? With written permission, I'm sure...... :
  16. E-mail me at winslowphoto@yahoo.com with your paint request. Send me pics of the paint and the tail number you want. I'm kind of funny about my paints. I only want one tail number per "customer." I know that may sound silly, but in the real world, there aren't a few hundred N2056KW's flying around!
  17. You're going to fall in love with that little plane! I've had a blast with her! I did all my VFR ratings on PilotEdge with the Carenado C152II. I have some custom liveries that I made if you're interested. Also, if you have a favorite real world livery you'd like to fly, send me some pics and I'll do a paint job for you. I'll be doing my IFR ratings on PilotEdge in my PA44-180 Seminole from C74.net.
  18. If it's flight model that's most important, C74 is by far the truest flight model. I own the 4Forces, Carenado and C74 versions. I like the Carenado textures with the 4Forces a close second. The instrumentation in the Carenado is the most realistic in terms of what you would find in a stock C152II. The 4Forces instrumentation/avionics package is a little more tricked out, but the flight modeling is way off. The C74 model flies very realistically. Even though the instrumentation is basically stock X-Plane, the textures are well done. The C74 is probably the best value.
  19. Simon, Just so you know, I would have PM'd you personally so as not to post the errors publicly, but I don't have the permission to do PM's. Sorry if I embarrassed you.
  20. For what it's worth, you refer to the Tampico TB9 at the beginning of your review, but by the end you are referring to it as the TB6. I believe TB9 is correct. Just sayin'. Not trying to be a jerk, just letting you know you need to do some proofreading. Otherwise, nice work on your review.
  21. But if you're looking for the best value AND realistic flight modeling, you have to have Jason Chandler's Pipers. Fourteen planes for $14 is a deal you can't pass up. He's got the Cirrus SR20, SR22 and SR22T aircraft as well. If you like flying the Corvalis, then you'll love flying Jason's Cirrus models. All of the c74.net aircraft have excellent flight modeling with beautifully baked textures. He even has helicopters to satiate the rotorhead in all of us. Check them out at http://www.c74.net/xplane/
  22. ¡No podria decirlo mejor! ¡Buen dicho!
  23. It's been said in different way, but why can't the cost of Gizmo just be built right into the price of the aircraft that require it? At least on the retail side of things, the consumers would only have to make one payment with each purchase. That's my simplistic view of the whole thing. Then again, buy a Gizmo license once and you seem to be good to go, right? By the way, I've paid my $10 bucks and might even do it again, just for good measure.
  24. Most realistic GA? Tough one, but my vote would be Carenado's C152II. A close second would be the Leading Edge Beechcraft Sundowner, followed by the Leading Edge Beechcraft Duchess and the Carenado Mooney M20J. Most realistic airliner? Well, I don't own it and I haven't flown it, but I would have to say the CRJ has the most realistic systems. I can't say anything about how it flies. I do own the FJS Dash8 and I've enjoyed flying it and it has been worth the investment thus far.
  25. Sorry Goran for the hijack. I didn't mean to contribute to the derailing of the thread. My post was not meant to be connected to a specific aircraft, simply, I was responding to the Vne abatement autopilot modeling issue in X-Plane. I just thought it would help end the hijack rather than prolong it. Again, my apologies.
