  1. New livery for Carenado's Piper Seneca II PA-34 200T I just uploaded this one to the org. You will be able to get it here: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=16397 Some screenshots: And the real world Canterbury Aero Club Seneca II:
  2. You started this thread 11 months ago. She really is looking good. Do you have any idea when you're going to release her?
  3. Love the nice little touches of color on the mixture handles and the trim wheel. Nicely done, my friend! The white speaker grilles are a nice touch, too!
  4. Very "cool!" Love this color scheme. Nice touch with the screw heads and sections. Nicely done, my friend.
  5. Just uploaded to the org a new livery for Carenado's recently released Piper Seneca II. Go get it! http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=16383 And the real world inspiration:
  6. Oops! I think you're right about the FMC plugin. At first glance, it appears the error right after the FMC loads is related to the FMC. Not sure about that. The error says a texture wasn't loaded and I just assumed it was from the FMC. Nonetheless, I'd try downloading and installing a new copy of the FMC plug to see if it clears up that texture issue. Forgive me for being a bit blunt right now, but you seriously don't know what Gizmo is? There's a whole forum topic here dedicated to Gizmo. http://forums.x-pilot.com/index.php/forum/117-gizmo-development/
  7. Keep in mind that there are no "small" errors in X-Plane 10. We used to be able to get away with a few small errors and still be able to fly X-Plane, but even more so in V10, X-Plane errors are accumulative. The more "small" errors you have, the less efficient X-Plane runs. Once X-Plane has had it's fill of errors, it says "Hey! I've had enough so now I'm going to quit." I'm attaching some screenshots of your log.txt with your errors highlighted. Surprisingly, you have some errors in 3 Aerosoft airports (LSGG, EGLL and EGBB), but your biggest scenery problem is Canary Wharf. I'd get rid of that one right away. You've got some bad or missing textures in some aircraft, too, along with your FMC plugin. All of these errors on their own may not cause X-Plane to crash, but add them all up and they fill your memory with crap and X-Plane tells you it's not going to deal with them anymore and crashes. I'm not sure how to remedy the aircraft problems other than try downloading and installing them again. Might want to do the same with the FMC plugin or get rid of it.
  8. Post your log.txt so we can see any error warnings. You may have an accumulation of scenery and other errors that fills up your memory. Lowering texture resolution will help, but if you have a bunch of bad scenery, you will still continue to crash.
  9. Stunning! Simply stunning! You must have shot this with a fast shutter speed to get that prop stopped! Best looking floats I've ever seen on an X-Plane model. Well done, Pete.
  10. paulyg, if a military livery for the DC-3 will sate your desire for now, here's a link for a great C-47 style livery: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?automodule=downloads&showfile=16285 While it will not have the armaments and/or specific equipment the C-47 has, it will at least look like one.
  11. Carenado has released their Piper Seneca II PA34-200T for X-Plane! Take a look here: http://www.carenado.com I've played with her a bit and there are some cool new features like surround sound that you've got to check out.
  12. Just keeps getting better and better. Love the domed observation windows! At least they look domed from the angle in the second shot.
  13. Pretty sure the little door located behind the cockpit you're talking about is the "emergency" crew door. Some referred to this door as the "hamburger door" because of it's proximity to the prop...and what might happen if the prop was still spinning if you exited through that door. This door gave access to the pilots if the plane was crammed full of cargo or if the access throught the rear door was blocked for some reason. The passengers wouldn't be entering the plane through that door and you certainly couldn't get any freight through that door. Passengers entered the plane through the door located on the rear left side of the aircraft. Freighters, like the Buffalo are equipped with larger doors, sometimes dual doors, on the rear left side of the aircraft. Some DC-3's were even equipped with right side passenger doors. Regardless, it seems this DC-3 is missing its passenger/cargo door. http://www.buffaloai...rnid=66&page=66 http://www.starksrav...restoration.htm http://www.douglasdc3.com/bigaer2.jpg http://jetphotos.net...=7327820&nseq=5 http://jetphotos.net...=7324791&nseq=7 http://jetphotos.net...7317902&nseq=10 http://jetphotos.net...7312366&nseq=14 http://jetphotos.net...7275978&nseq=29
  14. Okay, so I guess that means it's okay to poke him with a blunt stick. Poke, poke, poke......
  15. Sheesh, you guys! Poking Tom with a sharp stick isn't going to get it done any faster.
  16. Took a quick little photo flight this morning VFR from Shelter Cove over to Garberville. If you have the new Carenado V35B and you'd like this livery, you will be able to download it at the org shortly. It's a slight variation of the stock blue/gray livery. Some subtle differences. First, the real world inspiration: And the new paint:
  17. Here are some screenies of my N6MY V35B: The real world N6MY My Carenado V35B:
  18. In regards to the Version 10 thing: Posted on December 1, 2011 by Ben Supnik wrote:A number of third party authors (bravely) promised X-Plane 10 updates to their airplanes. And I believe that a tune-up to be X-Plane 10 compatible isn’t going to represent a lot of man hours. That is, unless you try to do this job now. I have a number of open bugs where version 9 airplanes don’t load quite right in X-Plane 10. If you have an X-Plane 9 airplane and you try to work around these bugs, a few things will happen: You will only be able to work around some of the bugs, as others are pretty hard-baked into the sim. When I actually fix the bugs (in the next weeks) your airplane will be “broken” yet again, since “fixing” the bugs now means trying to make a right with two wrongs. So third party authors: please do file bugs if you haven’t already, and give us a little time to work through them. Please do not try to work around these bugs, only to have your airplane become “re-broken” when we get the sim corrected. And users: please be patient with your third party airplane authors. They can’t make their plane v10 compatible until we fix some bugs, and if they try they’re just going to get thrashed. There are some things that do need to be reworked for version 10, particularly for HDR mode. But a lot of the reports I get are just things that are funky in the sim. Still waiting on the bugs to be fixed......
  19. I agree completely that X-Plane sounds are sorely lacking, but even so, Carenado is doing a decent job with the sound as opposed to the default sounds.
  20. Regardless of what you think of the sound description in the ad, she sounds great to me. Gutsy sounding engine at all rpm's. Had a sweet flight from KSBP to KSBA on PilotEdge and had no issues with this plane. I'll have to take her up again soon to give her a thorough shake down, but from first glance, she's a keeper. I'll get into her a little deeper later, but for now, I highly recommend her.
  21. On March 5th 2012 Carenado released the V35 Bonanza for X-Plane. Developed for X-PLANE 9.5 (or higher)*** Windows 7, Vista, XP, MAC OS 10.3.9 (or higher) and Linux compatible The package includes: 4 liveries With and without Tip Tank models Normal and Emergency Procedures PDF Reference document PDF KFC150 Autopilot PDF Recommended Settings PDF Features: KFC150 Autopilot GNS430 installed Tip Tanks option selector Original HQ digital stereo sounds (22.05 KHz) recorded from the original aircraft IFR certification Interactive virtual cockpit Full moving parts: Ailerons, elevators, rudders, flaps, rolling wheels Animated sections such as: doors, sun visor and copilot seat Realistic lights: Navigation lights, beacons, landing lights. Realistic light effects on gauges 3D modeled pilot and cockpit area. Many details as: pitot, antennas, chocks, pitot cover, baggage area. Realistic textures and original paint designs. Realistic light effects on gauges. Accurately reproduced flight characteristics ***WARNING: This aircraft was NOT developed for X-Plane 10. It works in that platform, but it doesn’t take advantage of all the new features. We will provide a patch in the future which will make it 100% compatible.
  22. I wouldn't say 2D panels suck. 3D panels are prettier, for sure, but for those of us running older or slower machines, 2D pits are what we have to fly to have a decent flight experience. All the aircraft at my VA are 2D panels. We have concentrated more on accurate flight model than we have on the eye candy. While I enjoy all of my payware with their "pretty" 3D pits, I still enjoy flying all of our 2D pits just as much.
  23. I know Jim Tweto's favorite plane is his C180. Unfortunately, the best, closest thing to it in X-Plane is Carenado's new C185F. I did this livery in honor of the Era Alaska C180. A shot of the real plane: Some screenies of my livery: You can download the livery here: http://forums.x-plan...&showfile=15822 Just need to get some tundra tires on this baby and we'll be set!
