  1. After the first online flight on VATSIM and a very rough weather at Hamburg (EDDH) - i bet, at least half of the passengers had to vomit - i noticed another small issue. When i switch the frequency between the 1st and 2nd, then the previous active will be change by 2 or more digits. So for example if i had tuned 127.67 as prime, 123.12 as stby (first one is the ATIS at EDDH, the other the arrival), it changes the former primary to 127.69. That means, that before i can switch back to the controller, i will first have to correct the frequency. This happened nearly 90% of the time. Since most of the time you will not switch back, it's not that a big deal, but if you have, it's annoying. Could you please have a look into that? Anyone else having this issue? Does the CRJ only have 1 Nav and Com port? I couldn't find out how to get the ATIS by using the second com. Even when i switch to VHF2, the display stays at COM1 and it only changes this one.
  2. The trick is, to "break", this will unlock the GPU brakes for a short time. I have the brakes on the main fire trigger of my joystick, so it's at first a lot of clicking to get it accelerated, later then, when reaching about 60ktn you only need to break only once per second, after 100ktn it accelerates even with the brakes. The lighter the aircraft, the better it works, due to lower friction of the tyres. ;D
  3. So your installer moved the British Airways livery into the appropriate folder (liveries)?
  4. I flew the first GPU powered airplane available on the planet! ;D
  5. I have had an issue with the reversers too. The thrusts needs to be at idle. It's not enough to just have the levelers at idle position. Give the engines a few seconds too spool down, then hit the key on your stick. Since i got a bit more patient it works, although i'm not able to activate reverse while standing (for powerback).
  6. Guess my frustration come from the hype. I expected something perfect, or at least something near perfection. Here are some things i like: - The exterior - FMC (not the turn issue, but it does its job with SIDs and co very well) - Near perfect 3D cockpit - Beacon reflection an plane (why did you slow the animation down? was looking nicer in an earlier video) - Logo light texture - Exterior textures as a whole - It flies very nice, like a big airliner I use the circle view a lot when taxing or when i'm in climb/cruise. Just so see the plane and the effects and to enjoy the view. Not everything is bad, but well, still a bit disappointed. At least the first impression. Until the A/P gets fixed, i will use the HDG first to get the plane into the right heading, and then hit LNAV again. This way it works good, but that shouldn't be necessary imho. The x738 has no issues with this, and its free. Dumping it down to 40 might be a bit hard, but 50 would fit right. This might still not be what it is worth to you, but that's completely understandable since you put so much effort into it.
  7. Core i5-2500K @ 4GHz 8GB RAM 1333 @ 7-7-7-21 GTX 570 @ 750MHz / 2000MHz Shaders ~ 25 - 35 fps at airports, 60 - 70 fps while in air
  8. So the overall message is "i don't care about the mentioned bugs". Wow, that's hell of a cool attitude! And for the turns: So i should reduce my cruise speed to 230 indicated, so that the A/P can catch it better, and then accelerate again? Yeah, really sounds like a pretty bright idea. Guess that's what the real pilots do too.... Edit: Here is another question: How do the thrust reversers work? The deploy automatic on touchdown, but it's hard to get them off again. I assigned the standard reverse toggle to my joystick, and it works in every other aircraft without any problems. I know, the manual says that it has to be in idle position, but it's more or less a random thing it it really disengages them or not. The only time i am mostly able to disengage them is when i'm standing. But why should that be the case? What if i brake too much, then i have to stop on the runway to get the reversers off... Is there a trick? Anything i might have missed in the manual? ???
  9. If in cold and dark, you have to set the IRS both to "NAV". If you start it with engines running, then turn the left knob once left to "OFF" and then back to "NAV". Then it's displayed, and you can paste the position.
  10. I always thought, that X-Aviation stands for a really high standards, but with the CRJ i really doubt if they can reach the bar they have set for themselfs. 60$ for a plane, which installer has at least 2 very obvious bugs (Lufthansa paint missing, British Airways livery not being installed/moved to the livery folder), it also lags in visual and audio effects. Have you EVER shut down the engines, while not being in cockpit view? ??? When the engines shut down, you can hear how hard the break between the different sound files is, that are used for different rpm. :'( A visual bug occurs, when you have "lo cirrus clouds" or "lo strato" above you, then your engines and the cockpit emergency exit are way darker than the body of the aircraft. When being in flight, you can see the terrain through the fmc. The textures of the left row where the "-" should be is gone. Thus you notice some flickering there when your in the cockpit. The textures of the windshield are as low as those used in the Dash8. Or look at the left display where the art. horizon is. Small black squares everywhere. And when you use the wiper, you get a perfect clean windshield, that gets dirty right after you turn them off... But what bugs me most, if the maybe worst A/P i have ever had. This plane is not able to get a single turn right. It's even way worse than with the Dash8 from Jack. Its not overshooting once, no it makes at least 3 turns to align. And if you use a direct, then things get even worse. The starting point will be now the current position, thus you already overshot. So the plane turns right to intercept the path drawn in the fmc. But then it doesn't turn left in time, overshooting for the seconds time. If you are lucky, then it will be aligned by the third turn, but can also happen with the fourth... All the "when is it ready" has either had an big impact on the quality assurance team, or testing wasn't done properly. As in it's current state, this plane is only worth 40$, imho. And now let's the smiting begin.
  11. Got a crash too, when i loaded the plane for the first time. But since then, hasn't happened to me again. X-Plane didn't even have the chance to write something into the log that had something to do with the CRJ. If it occurs again, i will have a more deeper look into this issue.
  12. Ok, it seems like its missing in the installer. I had a look into the installer dir. The Lufthansa folder is there, but it's empty. Others like BritAir have a structure like this: ~installer_location/dist/BritAir/BritAir/BritAir/objects + BritAir.jpg Lufthansa looks like this: ~installer_location/dist/Lufthansa No idea why you even made the path so wired at all, but as long as it works, it's ok.
  13. The Topic is self-explanatory. I had the check on when i installed it, but i didn't install the livery. In addition, there is a folder named "BritishAirways" located in the CRJ folder. This is obviously a livery, but not in the right folder. When put into liveries, i can load it as expected. Win7 Prof X-Plane 9.69 X.Plane folder is plain on C:\ so i don't get any rights issues.
  14. O M G ! ! ! I want sceneries like that too. This looks so damn real But germany is so boring in it's look, that i woun't see something like that even if XP were able to generate such a scenery.
  15. W2753 is not the graphics card That's his monitor, a LG. The NVidia GTX 257 is his card, although its' temperature is a bit high (not too high). Mine never exceeds 70° (GTX 570 OC) at idle fan speed.
  16. I will not pay 600 bucks to solve a problem another product has shipped with.
  17. I knew i forgot something! It would be cool if you could make the knobs not so sensible. I need a lot of time to get the right squawk in. Even when i'm very slowly moving the mouse, it jumps always by 2-4 numbers. :-[ :'( While selecting a heading is ok (but needs some time too to get it exact), i always miss the FL by 100-300ft. To tune radio/nav frequencies is impossible for me, because you need the 100% right one. But the numbers are always jumping around like hell. No chance to adjust them right. I don't have any problems with the hold'n drag buttons with the MU or BK117. They are far more precise. Since i mostly use keyboard commands to change the the frequencies, it's not that of a huge problem, but i would like to use this feature, since it would be way faster by draging it, instead of sycling through by keyboard.
  18. Although i wasn't sure if i might regret getting it, i bought it. : Just couldn't resist. It's a very simple plane. You can get it into the air by clicking approximately 5 buttons. That bugged me quite a bit, but i really like how this plane flys! It needs quite a bit of attention on the aileron trim (remembers me of the MU) and i'm still having problems with tailstrikes when landing with flap 35. But i like the flap 15 approach more, since it's not so slow. I did three legs yesterday, with her. EDDM --> EDDS --> EDDF --> EDDN I get the distance/zoom bug of the fmc too, plus the typo is really tiny. But i guess it is just the result of the not functioning zoom. Waypoints should be better readable when zoomed in. And the a/p overshoots most of the time when it comes to turn to the next waypoint. It starts the turn before the waypoint, but can't complete it soon enough. So you overshoot and then the a/p aligns himself with a small s-turn. And when you are asked to do a dct, then it wouldn't turn immediatelly, but continues to fly on the old track for a few miles, and then turns. He even shows this on the MFD. The other thing that bothers me, is the flight/ground setting when taxing. I need quite a bit of power to get it rolling, but then i'm getting into flight mode again. :-\ So i often "have to" engage ground mode again. But i ignored that on the last flight, because it doesn't seem to have an noticable impact, except that the spoilers are deployed. Oh and something interesting happend when i wanted to takeoff for the first time. I pulled the throttle to max, but the plane wasn't accelerating at all. Couldn't get over 15knots until i checked the flight dynamics (the green/red lines). Seems like the props stall if you don't have anough speed when you use max power. Took me a while to figure it out. ;D And although i got about 50% more VRAM (1280 now, had 864) the high rez textures give me some serious trouble. Was about 10nm out of EDDF when i suddenly was getting huuuuuuuuuge lag, so i had to land it with external view and dataref showing me the speed. After i had lot of lag with the high rez textures offline, i only used the files for the cockpit. But they seem to need so much VRAM that big airports made me lag. I never had "compress vram" on, until yesterday. But with it on i can use the whole high rez pack with even more fps. I always thought that things might look uglier when compressed but i haven't seen a difference. Oh and could you include a qnh/inch changer? I had to get a inch/qnh indicator plugin to be able to get the right inch set. Europeans primary use qnh not inch. I still think 30-35$ would fit better, but anyway, i realy like it. It's so much fun to watch and fly it. Don't regret it. It was a good investment, and with the bugs hopefully getting eliminated it will be even better. Nice done!
  19. No Problem here, but hell, my pc is only 1 month old Win7 Prof i5-2500K @ 4GHz MSI N570GTX TFII 8GB DDR3 1333MHz @7-7-7-21
  20. Where as a few days can even be in a few weeks, since a few weeks have a few days : If i have learned something here, than that time is veeeeeeeery relative. While for some people "soon" is something that happens within 2-3 days, for some others "soon" means "2-3 months". And developers always use the second "soon", when they have absolutely no clue, when it will be done.
  21. The file format for XP8/9 are available at http://data.x-plane.com/designers.html#Formats
  22. I'm not saying you did something wrong. I just want to know if the distance on the MFD is additive or just like the LEGS page where it tells you distances between the waypoints. The tutorial says: distances between waypoints RafalB says: distances on the MDF are added up I just want to know if he is right, or not. The manual doesn't say if the are summed up.
  23. But are those really the additive nm? When you have a look at tutorial page 42, Japo says that the values of the leg page show the distance between every single waypoint. So from current position to BENED it is a distance of 18NM, from BENED to PRADO 8NM, from PRADO to CENTA 30NM. Why would the MFD show different values than the FMC?
  24. VRAM doesn't have something to do with 64bit. There are very few graphics card out there, that have even 2GB+ VRAM. Or was that a typo on your side? I myself never got X-Plane over 1.5GB RAM usage.
  25. Ooooh noo...guess that mean it takes yet another week :'(
