  1. A good vintage jet like the DC-9 will always be welcome.
  2. The new LOT livery is very good indeed.
  3. Agreed, absolutely. Normal copyright rules imply that permission must be sought, unless the original author states explicitly that third parties may republish without permission. Separate permission must be sought and granted if the original file(s) is/are edited or otherwise altered in any way.
  4. You can see the arrangement clearly in his picture. Boeing B-50 Bomber by big_pixel_pusher, on Flickr
  5. The B-50 had a larger vertical stabiliser and rudder than the B-29. Most of the other changes were structural as well as the upgraded engines and additional fuel tanks you already mentioned. The B-50D also had a revised nose with a single plexiglass dome replacing the individual panes of the earlier variants.
  6. There are all the performance issues to take into account too...
  7. I'd like to see that figure as a percentage of the total number of flights flown. Given the enormous number of Ryanair flights compared to their rivals, the figure is meaningless as a standalone number, representing about 0.5% of the total. Ryanair operate over half a million flights per year. British Airways, for example, cancelled 2% of flights in/out of Heathrow alone in 2008.
  8. Providing a 3D mule for the textures is a super idea.
  9. I agree. It's more important to have a consistent overall "feel" to the texturing and looking at this screenshot, I's say the balance is about right. I was wondering if any of the latch/hinge details on the lower surface of the engine pod are modelled or if they're just textured. In whichever case, they are extremely convincing.
  10. I think it's fair to say that the developers are free to sell the aircraft however and wherever they choose. Saying that they are "in bed with the org" is like saying that someone selling something on eBay is "in bed with eBay".
  11. Good to see you back on the block!
  12. Interesting to hear about this development and good luck to the team. Do you intend publishing a paintkit or are you going to keep livery production in-house? I know it's early days yet...
  13. It goes live straight away, but not publicly viewable for a time. It is amazing that it got by the moderators. At least it was caught reasonably quickly and I'm sure there'll be a review over at the ORG.
  14. Enormously ugly, undistinguished in every way. The AA-eagle logo still looked fresh after 45 years. I'll miss it more than the polished metal.
  15. Hope it's more bug-free than the real one.
  16. No catch. The serials are provided next to the download links. CS2 is nearly 8 years old so perhaps their rationale is that it might introduce new customers to the product who may not yet have decided to purchase the full up to date product. There's nothing to lose, really. It might even help combat piracy to offer fully featured, free and legal downloads. I am an Adobe customer, so with respect to Andyrooc's comment, I can't really say whether non-registered customers will be able to use it.
  17. The CFM-LEAP option is an update to the CFM56 series, while the second proposed engine is the PW1000G. I find it a little puzzling that a developer would tackle an airliner for which specifications, performance figures and handling data are either incomplete or unknown, but there you go.
  18. Messed up my last post, but in reply to Erik, if it's of any help, I'm running the FJS 727 at 35-40 fps on my late-2011 MBP. If anyone here has both, perhaps they could post a comparison. My frame-rates are with HDR off.
  19. A personal preference would be for something a bit older like the DC-9.
  20. That's a bit depressing: the Singapore livery is still a classic, but Scoot is among the worst, most garish modern liveries.
  21. That's a sharp looking scheme, very nice work on the stripe in particular. The United titles and US flag look a bit big though.
  22. No, it would have to be an anti-up quark.Moving along...
  23. A neutron walks into a bar and says, "How much for a beer?" The barman replies, "For you, no charge."
