Great logic, except for one thing, most people won't use it as a desktop. They just want a dumb set top box. That's why the console market exists at all. We don't buy them for the powerful hardware which has been a step behind cheaper desktops for a long time now. We buy them 'cause they're an appliance, like a toaster.

The guy spends half his fucking video talking about how bad he feels about putting out the hat AFTER PUTTING OUT THE HAT TO THE PEOPLE WHO CAN LEASE AFFORD IT. Truth hurts. I could care less. -

The lag time is because pretty much all of us do this part time or as a hobby for a bit of petty cash. Most of my time is spent writing soul-sucking javascript for yet another website. -

I also have NO control over content policies, I just make middleware... and the occasional stupid picture in PS. -

It's nearly five years since MS canned FS... I'm pretty sure a couple of videos aren't going to sway the 15,000 people that are trying to get aces re-hired by a company that cares only for pure profit. -

...and what the email looked like. Could very easily get lost in noise considering he has zero rep. Today is literally the first I've ever heard of this guy. -

Maybe after he invests a couple of weeks into his tutorial and introduction videos his opinion will matter more. Why? Because he has 15,000 MSFS subscribes. Potential customers, yes. Sure, but they're still a million miles from being real customers. Why? Because habits are hard to break. $50 for an aircraft is nothing compared to the bitter frustration of not letting go of how you expect something to behave. If someone sees an amazing aircraft on his VLOG and thinks OMG I HAVE TO HAVE THAT NOW..... they still have to deal with the UX turd that is X-Plane. They will give up and become bitter and frustrated long before they ever get a chance to derive any value from the product we give to frooglesim. A week of earning nothing but frustration when all you want to do is RELAX in that precious slice of free time will leave customers with a very bitter pill. So, as far as I'm concerned, he can go first. -

I do appreciate that side of the argument. When I was in my early 20's I visited a friend of mine who worked for a very large Australian print magazine. He made it very clear that whichever company sent in the most free stuff and payed for the most "business trips" and purchased the most advertising "got the best reviews". I've never really given a toss about what a review has to say about product after that. Common opinion matters. Reviewers do not. Sorry, that's the economic reality we live in. -

I find it annoying that someone with a $300 mic and a $300 headset wants free content. -

Froogle who? -
A Gizmo update went into developers hands for internal testing about two days ago... If they don't report any bugs we'll update soon. We don't want to ship you something that's broken in a subtle way because we're trying to make it run a little faster..

blender just had a huge makeover... what they need is some decent tutorial content. preferably video.

I looked at Sketchup again about two weeks ago and it appears that Google have sold it off (put it to pasture) and washed their hands of it. No more free version that I could see... only had a quick look, was very disappointed. It's not like they have a couple of billion spare or anything.

When you're dealing with an obscure file format that uses the same file extension as a very widely used and popular format I'd say that you're pretty much screwed from the word go. Most tools have been focused on getting data into OBJ files, not out of them... import has traditionally been crap at best. A lot of artists don't care either, its a poor mans form of DRM when its difficult to modify the 3D assets.

Blender is like Linux, it's only free if you have the time.

You are the only person claiming to have critical performance issues. (single digits) You are the only person claiming to have an issue with XACARS. You are the only person unwilling or unable to provide evidence of the above. This case is now closed. Good day sir.

A log file for the aircraft you're having trouble with would be more useful. This one shows you using Carenado products. We can only learn a little bit of information from it about your OpenGL setttings, your scenery installed, and the plugins you _MIGHT_ be using when you try to use the Saab. You have a lot of scenery packages. It would be best to test the saab at a default airport to give us a fair chance to test. You have Xsaitekpanels installed, we have one other user that has reported a minor issue with this plugin when using the MU-2. Recommendations: Test the saab installed in a fresh demo copy of X-Plane. Remove all extra plugins and place them back in one by one testing each time to see if it kills your frame rate as badly as you claim. Provide REAL DATA that's relevant to your reported problem, don't waste our time by posting Log files from when you flew a Carenado product. Please post a Log.txt and GizmoLog.txt file from a Saab test in a clean copy of X-Plane or we cannot help.

It's simple pattern matching. If we get more problem reports from users of a 780 card than anyone else then it's the 780, regardless of how your other products perform for you. At this point in time I'm still looking for a pattern, no blame has been placed, we're as curious as you are. Addons are NOT made equally. Canned soup is not same as home made soup even though the contents of your bowl may look and taste basically the same. It's not easy to trouble shoot from the other side of the forums, everyone needs to exercise as much patience as they can muster. Logical deduction is the only way to solve the puzzle.
