If anyone else reports this I'll investigate further.

Now that is odd... Thanks for reporting it. Currently in the middle of a code review so I'll have a look and see what I can find. Can't offer you much to fix it now, I plan to get a Gizmo64 update out pretty soon though. (You could try upgrading Gizmo64 by hand when the time comes, I'm not sure when X-A will want to publish it..)

What aircraft are you using? Does it have plugins? Have you tried some of the defaults? (Im fond of the Cirrus Jet, no plugins, relatively simple..)

X-plane Crashing, is Sky Maxx Pro the cause?

What part of the world are you flying in? Are you using X-Plane Steam Edition or the DVD pack from Laminar? or...? -

I'd bet a new scenery package was installed right around the time SMP was installed. -
JetStream 32 - Community Update
Ben Russell replied to ChrisMac's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Max won't provide adequate paperwork to allow publication of a commercial product where a not-insignificant amount of money changes hands. This is not freeware. You can't just dump and run. There are liabilities and laws involved and Max is the one who is not complying. What if, in six months, Max decides he wanted financial compensation and asserts that Cameron had a verbal agreement... Cameron would now allegedly owe max several thousand dollars, messy dispute ensues... What if, in six months, Max decides he doesn't like Cameron anymore and files a DMCA take down request on the files that Max has retained Copyright over? These are serious issues that Max needs to sign off on like a professional. -
If there's anyone interested in using the new "Slack" chat platform to discuss X-Plane topics I have created an x-plane team and setup a self-serve invitation form. You can find more information about slack here: https://slack.com/ You can find the self-serve signup form here: http://xp-slack.com You can find the x-plane slack team chat app here: https://x-plane.slack.com Slack have web, desktop and mobile apps. It's free to sign up and could lead to more interactive content. As with any new thing there's not much content or usage at the moment. I have the mobile app installed and signed in so it's not something you need to baby-sit in your browser. Chicken, meet egg.

I got a new driver stack. Does that count?

Tom. The text you quote: ..is explaining that the new technology demonstrated in this thread allows users and artists to move away from using any kind of HTTP/network/IPC server. The entire point of the technology demonstrated here is that you can use the potent multimedia capabilities of a modern browser rendering engine to create avionics, in the sim entirely, without any fiddly interconnects. There are plenty of other projects, from Arduino to "Cheap Android Tablets" that aim to allow third party hardware/software network IO. This is not one of them. "WebSimConnect HTTP server" is not the primary subject of this thread. "WebSimConnect HTTP server" does not represent a break through of technology and possibility. (Many products have embedded HTTP servers for things like FMC IO.) The focus of the thread is the use HTML5/Javascript in the virtual cockpit to render to the panel texture gauges. That is a break through and one that should eventually leady to all sorts of rich content. Google maps on your EFIS screens anyone?

Tom. If you're going to reply to a topic and pretend that you find it "int"(eresting) it helps to bother reading it first. Please explain to me how anything in this topic is relevant to "external hardware interaction". What is quite clearly presented here is a set of tools for using HTML5 content inside the virtual cockpit to create virtual cockpit gauges as easily as web pages. It has nothing to do with external hardware and your assumption that it does shows a complete misunderstanding of the project and the content presented thus far.

Getting activation request every time I start XP
Ben Russell replied to jkieffer1957's topic in Saab 340A
It's quite possible it's XSB related. The plugin has had a rough run recently during it's update to 64bit. I understand that a lot of work has been put in recently to fix bugs but I won't be surprised to see more. I think it's worth trying X-Plane without XSB installed and see what happens. Thank you for your patience. -

Please ensure your system is set to the correct time. -
You Log.txt shows you using the 757. Your GizmoLog.txt shows you using the EMB-110. I can see some interesting stuff in there though... so whatever.

Steam hardware survey stats show Windows 32 bit (all versions) hold about 13% of the windows market. http://store.steampowered.com/hwsurvey Reduce the scope to X-Plane users and the 32bit market share will drop off really fast.

Customers simultaneously want support for both ancient legacy systems and bleeding edge releases. They will ask on the very same day of a new OS release of all products are up-to-date and checked out. I aim to support those that are current, not bleeding edge. Merely current. I usually run my OS one major release behind for a few months while everyone else finds the killer bugs. Running complex feature rich products in 32bit X-Plane results in memory exhaustion and simulator crashes. This is not the kind of product experience we want to sell you. The vast majority of people run 64 bit with no trouble. That is where we must focus our support as they are literally the life blood of our products. Good luck.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_XP_Professional_x64_Edition Over 10 years is plenty of time to upgrade. Sorry.

The reason this triggers as a false positive is because it looks like it could possibly be something it isn't. The installer is a lightweight package that downloads and installs many more packages off the internet. Because of this, the AV scanners cant be sure, and mark it as a cautionary prediction. As you have intentionally downloaded a piece of software that is designed to install further pieces of software it is therefore safe to override the precautions of your AV system.

Mmm. That looks fun. Can we have a copy of your Log.txt too please?
-
I suspect you have world-detail distance too high. This excessively taxes your CPU-bus-GPU throughput and would be expected to reveal itself as soon as you gain positive rate, altitude and viewing distance. Put all your rendering settings on your version of "low". Take a screenshot. Post it here.

Take Command! CRJ-200 Version 1.5.3 Update Released!
Ben Russell replied to Cameron's topic in Canadair CRJ-200
Fixing the CTD requires a re-write of the CRJ plugin. This is impractical and un-economical unless the CRJ is refreshed as a new product(unlikely to happen) with a new round of customer purchases. The problem with the CRJ is NOT in the CRJ code. It is in support libs that the CRJ uses and is no simple fix there either. The ONLY work around you have to reach neat and tidy perfection is this:
