Man she loved watching the smp clouds so much, when i used my slots she kept on at me to get another hehe And, she saw some details of this plane and said, you know what babe (babe, that's me hehe) if i were you that plane looks really good for you to buy (words to that effect) Yesterday after a hdd died then running to shop and getting a new one and finally sorting my rig she was so relieved my stress levels were lowered, this morning as we sat down and had a tea, i checked our emails etc, checked here and well ............ She said, Babe (me again lol) i'll get you it if you want One day you know, one day i'll have to set a date and marry her She loves eye-candy in games and fancy items maybe more than myself i think, she is blown away with with my clouds lol, she indulges me in everything i've ever done, as long as she has the tv/cable/bluray remotes she fine n dandy lol One drawback, we have two spare bedrooms and a loft, i have to have my pc setup in lounge, she says if i have a 'man-cave' she wouldn't see me hehe, small sacrifice for such a great woman No doubt she will be my manual-reader as i crash n burn in the plane Have Fun All Ohh, and as said, kudos on all involved in such a long undertaking, and staying the course, kudos Tony

Hiya, Not got my sweaty mitts on a titan yet, but i would go mess carefully after reading up on it and make a better fan profile I'm a water-cooling addict who came from phase-change cooling, both drop your temps way better than aircooling, but gpu-wise things get expensive fast watercooling Like anything cpu/gpu wise, the more you have them doing the more heat has to be displaced The likely theory i have for older gpu's not heating up so much is they were slightly larger dies and nowhere near as much going on in them as the most modern marvels, so as modern cards cram more in in smaller spaces things get nice n warm My old r9 290x hits 100% even though i have vram to spare, it's just one of things as such I would google titan x custom fan profiles and go from there, before i went full watercooled i would profile my fan/s if i could If you haven't, you know those titans clock pretty nicely from what i've seen/read ;-) Ohh, if your gpu make/brand allows, think about getting better thermal paste, i bet there's many howto's out there, the 'generic' cpu/gpu paste can be pretty thick and pretty cwap actually, ohh and if you go this route beware, you will need new thermal pads of the correct thickness If/When i get 980ti or push the boat out and get a titan, i wil first reel back from open wallet surgery, then redo thermal paste n pads, then watercool Food for thought, but really as long as the gpu isn't throttling from what i've read at 100% usage the 85c aint that unrealistic, and may i ask also ? is it a reference design single fan ? as i saw on yt a comparison, and believe it or not the ref fan design outbeat a fancy fan layout ;-) Just to add, if you've got a spare 120mm fan, try and get it to add airflow on the backside of the gpu ;-) you'd be shocked how hot that side gets without a backplate to shed the heat Have Fun Tony

Hiya's, Got somewhat side-tracked but .............. The missing Hdd is fubar But i found the slow boot problem Replacement mobo came with latest non-beta bios 2011 installed I knew i had trouble with this bios on my original board !!! but seeing as it was installed on the replacement i left well alone As it turns out, the previous bios 1902 from asus has sorted my boot times !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Figure ehh I did swap satas and pwer over Tonka, then it dawned on me about the 2011 bios, that bios seemed to accelerate the mobo death i'm sure lol For a treat after now losing 4 or 5 hdd's in the 24mths (old age/24/7 abuse so no biggie really) i'm gonna drive to ocuk and get a 500gb ssd to tide me over for x-plane What a really weird scenario though lmao Ohh, i have sent a note to asus, explaining the woes i had with bios 2011 after updating to the latest non-beta bios as advised to on my initial purchased mobo, and obviously the pita time after again a few weeks or so with this replacement Anyways, i'm happy, and touchwood mobo isn't failing, well, if i can't run a 4th hdd something is deffo fubar mobo-wise Cheers for Help Have Fun Def ps: not made of money, ssd money coming out of my new gpu savings ohh well, needs must n all that

Hiya, Well that really just stinks :-( I saved up enough to get the cheapest 980ti/average mobo/5820k/average ddr4 ram After mulling things over for weeks i thought sod it, i'll get the top range mobo and decent ram/cpu to see me good for a few years, and wait for the new gpu's to hit hoping for a drop in 980ti prices (optomistic i know) So i went back to using asus and got their so called best Eleven days i think i had it, approx day three it started going fubar, only a 20mile drive to ocuk, tested/destroyed/replaced in 45mins'ish, even asked me if i wanted my 1k back, i suppose if this second mobo is fubar then i'll have to get a lesser mobo So bloody annoyed i can tell you Twenty One years of building my rigs and all's i've had faulty was a triple set of duff ddr3 (sure it was ddr3) again a trip to ocuk and swapped for a good set Now it seems it's one thing after another lol Dang, now i'm fedup Thanks for the reply, much appreciated Well, i will call them first thing tomorrow Will do a full fresh w7 install as per their expectations for testing ideas over the phone Have Fun (i doubt i will hehe) Tony

Hiya's, I have tried W10 on and off for ages I ran into a few self-made problems last week so i did a repair, using the option in W10 itself I usually just re-install OS's as i find repairing just takes the same length of time Well the errors persist .............. I use SFC /SCANNOW which for W7 x64 Ultimate always worked to fix any errors Now after a W10 repair it's stopped fixing errors, and also my fast boot up time has gone back to a 'normal' slow boot time, though nothing new on the boot-up/loading side of things, ohh and also one of my HDDs shows then vanishes, over the weekend it's been totally awol hehe After an SFC /SCANNOW ... Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios. Goto badweather.c#m and the world's your oyster for trying differing weather scenarios Hopefully my smp/rwc are setup correct, over ksfo i had a scattering of clouds then clear misty skies as such, now i took off from kctb (don't ask lol) and i have nice turbulence and clouds by the bucket load Hoping to exit this weather front to see what it's like visual-wise, i think i am hoping for the same as you, weather front/clouds way off in the distance, though i have my radius etc turned up to around 4k i may need more but this i know will over-tax me ole r9 290x, and i've pushed her to the hilt as it is lol Have Fun Tony
