  1. Where is this scenery?
  2. Where did you get the cormorant?
  3. Picture No. 1 sums up the answer to the "why should I buy X-Plane" question.
  4. Thanks - Peter literally solved the problem for me at the exact same time! Results (haven't placed my custom line textures yet, or anything but this one concrete texture):
  5. Smooth jazz wafts from my speakers as I wonder... What is missing from this .pol file that makes the textures not want to tile? I want to use the file like the default pavement - repeats normally. A850DRAPED_POLYGONLAYER_GROUP markings -1LAYER_GROUP taxiways +1TEXTURE concrete_1.ddsSURFACE concreteSCALE 25 25So, what's the issue here? Why am I getting a 200-foot long concrete slab? All help appreciated. EDIT: Now, even with the correct layer groups, it appears under my orthophotos, without tiling. What's with this? EDIT: I have noticed that repeating textures are classified as draped polygons, while EVERY AND ANYTHING I put into WED is called a "draped orthophoto..."
  6. Very happy to see someone else took advantage of the resources out there - I gave up on this project after technical difficulties including bad computer syndrome... AMAZING! Thank you for this great contribution.
  7. Merry Christmas everyone! Hope this year treats you well and happy new year
  8. IT'S CRUNCH TIME! Exams are over, I'm on a three week break... I have a lot planned out but nights are for AmSamXP! Expect lots of screenshots in the next week, and still hoping for release on Christmas for all you weirdos who use X-Plane on the 25th.
  9. LOL this thread got blocked on my school internet because of the URL.
  10. I think I'll do that on my 4 hour bus trip home this coming weekend... XP10's default Langley is awful. Completely wrong size.
  11. Guess who's waiting for $4 so I can afford it...
  12. I believe I can see my CZBB if I'm not mistaken.
  13. HOLY THREAD REVIVAL BATMAN Also I'll just add that I'm doing nothing about my planned cockpit until my dad upgrades his office and dumps his old computers so I can use them for other views.
  14. Proud to see that you're getting use out of that scenery! Looks great, I can't wait to get SkyMAXX now.
  15. stop it you're making me hate my computer for its lousiness Once again the last photo looked like real life - scary, if you ask me. Beautiful
  16. I think we should just simulate ever water molecule as per air currents and temperature fluctuations. Simple enough, right John?
  17. aw shucks
  18. I want exams to be over so I can just buy this thing and stop having dreams of this stuff.......
  19. I'd love to see something like that last photo for Manhattan or something, with lots of skyscrapers. Those reflections are gnarly. Looking forward to seeing what the difference is with 1.1
  20. Head on out to Hawaii The new mesh has made Maui phenomenal, although the other islands aren't too realistic simply because X-Plane's scenery resources (primarily ground textures) seem to be tuned for temperate and arid areas, and not so much lush tropics. And Maui has lots of temperate and arid.
  21. This is truly the greatest place to come and cry about how crappy my computer is These screenshots are phenomenal, guys! Edit (PS): I sent one of these photos (one by canox I believe) to my friend who is a pilot in training. His response was "Wait is there like a new version of FSX or something?" I almost punched him.
  22. New Website: http://amsamxp.weebly.com/
  23. ...tears of joy roll down my face, as I experience screenshots of an ace. John's right, you have a knack (and a computer capable) for taking screenshots. Beautiful work. What are your shadow settings?
  24. I do not intend to start another forum-war with this message, I'm mostly just asking for some clarification: I managed to download HD Mesh 2 (beautiful work, absolutely stunning effects on Canada) - but I was upset to see that although it had improved hugely from the rather bare-bones and detail-lacking default mesh, there are still quite a few features missing (for instance, over 200 lakes central british columbia, some pretty significant in size). In 9.70, most of these lakes were here. I'm just wondering what the difference is in the source for the data that entire lakes could go missing. Other than that, HD mesh is starting to pump out some pretty serious and beautiful flights here Thanks for all the hard work! EDIT: Here's a screenie. I have all the HD DSFs for this area.
  25. The second picture in that... looks like real life. And I don't mean it looks like X-Plane looking like real life. I mean it looks like real life. The mountains in the haze in the background... finally something I've never seen in X-Plane. Those are some amazing shots there!
