The SAAB340 is one of the best aircraft for xplane, very well and in-deep simulation. A big update is coming with improvements, developers are working on it. I have had the chance to fly in the cockpit many times a few years back . A family member was a captain for the 340A&B The sound emanating from the engines is pure music, adjusting the condition levers is great.

Honestly i do not know. But i have seen lot of people having sound issues with JAR plugins and i have seen JAR released some updates to their stuff. But i am unsure if problems were fixed or not because i do not use them myself Just in case, do you have latest version of the plugin?

The files you have seen listed on the gizmo logfile doesn't exist on my install, but mine works just fine. I do suspect your problem is you are running Groundhandling plugin still, `please note disabling it within xplane takes the resources anyway. Doesn't work the same than removing it. For the purpose of testing please move the GndHandling folder out of xplane plugins folder, then restart xplane to test if the problem is fixed. You can move the folder back later. attach (no copy/paste) the log.txt file found on your xplane root folder. If you have any other plugin from JAR you should remove it as well to test, those plugins cause sound issue to a lot of people.

For the radios i do use the saitek comm radio. You can tune both COMMs, NAVs, XPONDER as well from the hardware panel. Very useful for flying online not to rotate the camera to the pedestal which is very problematic specially during TO & APPROACH. http://www.saitek.com/uk/prod/radio.html For remote CDU there is a number of people here that uses AirFMC and reporting that works great! You can see on their list that the IXEG bird is fully supported. http://www.haversine.com/airfmc I am looking for a remote CDU for an IPAD (have to buy it still) too. It will be much easier and faster for interacting the FMC than the mouse over the virtual CDU, not to rotate the camera zoom in, camera presets, etc. Punching the CDU via mouse is quite slow and boring. Using your fingers tips is much more fun. I personally did not buy the AirFMC because its cosmetic design was meant for an Airbus and they do not have a scheme paint/lookings for a Boeing still. I hate anything coming from airbus. IXEG is also considering a solution similar to FF 767, connecting your remote gadget (i.e. ipad) via browser to the simm ip and having the CDU available with no app installed. I have no idea if this feature is still considered, potential time frames. They just said being considering a number of options for remote CDU. Nothing else. hope this helps

google cumulonimbus on the images section. you will see tons of them. We do have them here as well.
-
you can also fix that easily. 1. go to RTE page on the FMC to activate the route via softkey right down. 2. go back to PERF page to continue your video via MENU FMC INDEX PERF
-
As per your screen capture you are on the PERFORMANCE page, any data entered there will not light up the EXEC button unless you have entered a route and made it ACTIVE already!! It seems you did not entered a route yet, or you entered it but not made active yet! Please let me know what video you are following up, i will specify you mm:ss where you should have activated but seems missed it before reaching PERF DATA page.

looking fantastic

worked flawlesly, thanks for the input

Hi LES team What would be the custom command to control the IAS mode -speed bug- on the speed instrument (pos & neg increments)? I am looking to assing my mcp ias rotary to the sasb ias bug for configuring desired climbing / descending speed while in IAS mode.. I haven't had any issue to find proper custom commands for altitude, hdg, etc. In such case there is no custom command for that, what would be the dataref? i can make the mcp rotary to set the values +/-1 increments.

there are several threads on this already. Use -search- custom waypoints

VIRTUAL AVIONICS - MCP 737-R with IXEG 737?
mmerelles replied to dornier's topic in Hardware/Cockpit Dev
Hi, me again Their hardware looks pretty cool. They also have some very nice features like their MCP back light intensity follows the aircraft mcp back light setting! Hopefully a product owner can share his feeling about the materials, quality, performance, etc. Something that would concern me.. Seems there is not an app interface yet (provided by them or a third party) which allows creating your own profiles for supporting any aircraft of your interest. It seems you rely on them for adding support based on their priorities and time frames. an example http://www.avsim.com/topic/490211-flight-factor-767/ The IXEG support has just been released, no issue there. But if you plan using the MCP for other aircraft such us the FF 757/767/777, Rotate MD80, FJS 732/727 etc, i would recommend getting in touch with them to understand: -if their present va-interface plugin allows the user creating their own profiles for supporting any bird. If not... -if they have any plans to release such a tool, by themselves or via a third party partnership that may be ongoing. This could help for the decision. -
what you are experiencing is not normal. It seems the systems are still engaged. How do you disengage AP? You should use a "custom command" for that, default xplane toggle will not work. It could be very useful if you can attach some screen captures of your front panel and instruments while the problem occurs to see what systems are still engaged and why the aircraft refuses to descend.

maybe the pilots miss configured the flap lever for the data they have entered and resulting vr? As per the wings flps are at 1 max.

Goflight MCP Pro compatible with IXEG 737?
mmerelles replied to dornier's topic in Hardware/Cockpit Dev
Goflight mcp pro is the piece of hardware, unfortunately goflight does not provide any piece of software to make their hardware work for xplane as they do for fsx. To make it work you need the software/plugin from a third party which interacts between the hardware and the aircraft custom commands datarefs. i do own the goglight mcp pro and i bought pollypot goflight interface tool https://shop.pollypotsoftware.org.uk/goflight-interface-tool-xplane.html WORKS BRILLANT rock solid! Not only the IXEG, you are also able to make your MCP PRO to work with any other aircraft you have on your hangar . as well as the other goflight pieces of hardware like te EFIS, etc. The whole idea how it works is: -you install the interface software on your xplane machine (windows only!) it auto detects your goflight hardware connected. -You create/edit a per aircraft profile on a graphical user interface. Profiles are loaded automatically for the aircraft you select on xplane. -When you create/edit a profile you select what button, display, switch, light on the goflight mcp pro does what on the aircraft. Creating a profile for the IXEG 737 is straight forward because the external mcp matches the aircraft mcp. But the funny part is you can also use the mcp pro for a C172, SAAB340, 777, 757 or any aircraft on your hangar. You just decide what does what as per your liking. The C172 does not have FD switches, but you may leave them off but usee HDG rotary, altitude, speed, course selectors, CMD A to engage A/P etc. -Profiles are exportable/importable, you can exchange profiles with the community. There are profiles already shared on their forums. I do have created my profiles for the IXEG, SAAB, 727/737FJS, AFL172, FF birds. Once you understand a bit how the interface works it is quite easy to create, fine tune the profiles as per your liking. hope this clarifies. -
Restricted Indicated Air Speed - B737 (v1.0.7)

Restricted Indicated Air Speed - B737 (v1.0.7)
mmerelles replied to stopnicki's topic in General Discussion
xplane default flap axis does not support nullzone setting, so when you close your flap hardware lever, the xplane flap axis may still be as tiny as 0.00001% open. You will not notice it under the cockpit flaps indicator, neither on the flaps handler on the pedestal, neither on a external view. But A/T (auto throttle) will notice them and protect the aircraft from overspeeding. Also take into account desktop cheap hardware potentiometers tend to send spike signals to the simulator no matter you are not touching them at all. So even if you manage to get them fully closed by pushing the lever couple of times, they may deploy from nowhere time to time. I also have the Goflight TQ6ADV, i used to have a saitek TQM. I know what i am talking about. You have 2 main options here: 1. Do not map the flap lever, and wait until xplane support nullzone setting and improves flaps / speedbrake management via desktop level user hardware. Map keys or buttons instead to one notch flap down, one notch flap up. 2. You can try "flap axis detent" script to overcome this issues http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?/files/file/30886-flap-axis-detent/ -
Restricted Indicated Air Speed - B737 (v1.0.7)
mmerelles replied to stopnicki's topic in General Discussion
this means the aircraft is protecting itself from overspeeding. Most common cause, you are missing to fully retract the flaps. Are you using a hardware lever for the flaps? -
xjoymap is just an assignment plugin. It may assign axis, buttons, etc, on a per aircraft basis while the aircraft loads. It will not hurt any fps which is always my main concern when selecting fancy plugins that runs during the simulation. EDIT: do you run flywithlua as of now? you can also put a small lua script that runs only when the aircraft loads and pre-assign the CL as well.
-
TIP you can keep the CL assigned, just install xjoymap plugin and assign the condition levers to separe axis levers if you have enough or both shared to move them simultaneously via one single axis lever. It will work each time you restart xplane/saab.
-
This feature has been removed on the first update because it was causing some fps trouble. The developers are evaluating if they can incorporate it again on a future release. Personally, i think it was very valuable. lets hope it comes back some time.

attach your xplane "log.txt" file found on your xplane root folder, this will tell what is going wrong. (do not copy/paste, ATTACH the file)

xplane devs will surely explain it better than my poor english. Anti-Aliasing The anti-alias level parameter is used to smooth the edges of the objects drawn in the simulator. When a computer tries to draw diagonal lines across the finite number of rectangular pixels in a monitor, “jaggies” result—pixelated-looking, stair-stepped lines. These jaggies may be (somewhat) eliminated by turning on anti-aliasing. This will cause X-Plane to actually draw the simulated world several times per frame and blend those frames together, resulting in a better looking image. Thus, it is similar to using a higher screen resolution; running at a resolution of 2048 x 2048 without anti-aliasing is similar to running at 1024 x 1024 and 4x anti-aliasing. Both situations tax the video card with virtually no increase in CPU use. This will completely kill the simulator’s frame rate if the system doesn’t have a strong video card, but if the video card can take it, crank this option up. Special Effects In X-Plane, fog is used to control the visibility. Thus, enabling the draw volumetric fog option creates a number of small, localized fog effects, causing the density to vary whenever X-Plane draws fog. The result is that objects and scenery fade into the distance in a much more gradual (and pleasant) way than they otherwise would. On some computers, this can have a significant effect on frame rate, but for newer machines, the benefits significantly outweigh the costs. The checkbox labeled draw per-pixel lighting toggles pixel shaders. Using pixel shaders allows X-Plane to add 3-D lighting on a per-pixel basis, to incredible effect. Rather than having the simulator tell the graphics card how to light an area, the graphics card determines it in real time, creating a very realistic image. If you have an older graphics card, this can have a large effect on frame rate. HDR rendering is the new method X-Plane 10 uses for drawing the world. It allows an unlimited number of light sources, resulting in very convincing shadows across the whole world. If you have a newer graphics card (one that supports DirectX 10 or later), you will probably love using this effect; as this option is GPU-intensive, however, if you have an older graphics card, you may want to avoid it. With HDR rendering on, two new rendering options become available: atmospheric scattering and HDR anti-aliasing. Enabling the atmospheric scattering option causes objects that are far away to appear more washed-out, just as they do in the real world. Once again, this shouldn’t have a great impact on frame rate on newer computers. The HDR anti-aliasing setting allows for more effective means of smoothing otherwise jagged lines than the older anti-alias level control. The “FXAA” version of HDR anti-aliasing is both high quality and computationally inexpensive, so it is recommended for almost all users. The “4xFSAA” version, on the other hand, simply has the graphics card draw the image at four-times the normal size, then scale it down. This will have a much greater impact on frame rate than FXAA.
