right...but under specific conditions spelled out in the agreement! There are terms and conditions I know about because I have the contract, I sell at XA. Have you read XA's vendor contract? I doubt it....you know why? Because you're on the sidewalk and not in the conference room. If you have read the contract, I'll post a public apology here and now. We all have the same agreement, I know very well the nature of the agreement....maybe...as the very first vendor on XA, I helped write it eh? You don't know this though because you're on the sidewalk and not in the conference room..remember? I'm sure everybody looks shiny and clean behind the rose colored, plate-glass windows of the conference room.....you keep licking that ice cream and all will be well for you. ...Nicolas clean? What? you afraid of getting banned at the org for agreeing with us? As a matter of fact I read the TOS and various terms listed on most sites I join and purchase from. I do not recall reading any sort of vendor terms, likely because there not usually made public for the average users to read... I can tell your a little angry about the so called violation of the contract, but you do realize that contracts are routinely modified to suit the needs of buyers and sellers. Could it not be possible that the base contract, that you clearly stated you helped write, may have been modified for the various other sellers and developers on XA? I'll now throw in one corroborating quote just for the hell of it... I'd tend to agree with the statements made there, and quite frankly I'd like to hear Cameron's opinion on the matter. If I have been incorrect on my assumptions that nothing incorrect has happened, I await a correction from Cameron. Until I see something from him, I will ignore the speculation of wrongdoing on the part of Javier and Phillip. I will also take offence at your patronizing and derogatory tone. You quite obviously disagree with most things I say, just disagree, there is no need for name calling and defamation of character.
-
Tom you need to back up a bit. Cameron clearly states that: So who is right here then? The administrator of the store who should likely know the nature of the agreement or yourself? And finally: Sounds all "hunky dory" to me. No harm, no foul. Javier, Phillip, Nicolas, and Cameron are all in the clear on this one. By the way, I'm happy that this strife appears to be healing between XA and the .org. Good on Cameron for being open to a solution, and good on Nicolas for calming down enough to understand that this is better for the entire community.

Any idea as to who made this? From what I can see it is pretty substandard, especially for the $40 price tag that is technically associated with it.

Well she did her job, she got all the passengers down on the ground in a fairly safe manner with only two serious injuries. From the sound of things the aircraft might have landed long, been in an improper configuration, or have landed on a wet and contaminated runway...

Carenado C172N Skyhawk II here now
eaglewing7 replied to steven winslow's topic in General Discussion
I'm still firmly on the fence as to whether or not I want to purchase Carenado's X-Plane offerings... I've heard both sides of the conversation, photorealistic textures, versus 3D texturing, etc... They could win me over if they released the Cessna 185F, Cessna 208, and the Piper PA28RT Arrow IV. My question for Carenado users is as follows, is there any noticeable lack of definition and crispness in the use of photo textures, or is the quality similar to 3D texturing? -
Now, bear in mind that I do not own the CRJ but I do think I may have the answer... The FMS gets its data from airnav, which uses a fairly up to date set of data for world airports and ICAOs. It could be that most of these airports are closed, 55J is closed in real life, which is likely why your having that problem, FSE does not close airports even if they close in real life.

How about looking at the package that the laptop came in, normally there is a serial number listed on it. If all else fails, call your local Apple Store or retailer, bring in the computer to the place of purchase, get them to look into the problem, or just call Apple and ask their technical support people. Also, copy and paste this into Terminal and see what happens: /usr/sbin/system_profiler SPHardwareDataType
-
Odd, on my iMac when entering that screen Apple Menu > About This Mac what I under the Apple logo is the version of the OS I have installed, Version 10.6.8. To get the serial number I have to go to Apple Menu > About This Mac > More Info... > System Profiler which then tells you the serial number under Hardware. Does that work for you?

It's likely a contractual agreement for exclusivity of sale. A similar occurrence took place when scenery by Tom Curtis was sold on the .org. Before it had been sold off of his website through an online store. It in no way would seem unusual to me, and I would assume that X-Aviation would expect a similar agreement for exclusivity of sale. Would I be in any way correct Cameron? I hate to get my facts wrong.

Holy cow! I thought you would only make the standard wheeled version, but Goran surprises us all again with an amphibious version. Have you considered making the wheel-ski version as well? Here's a picture of a Buffalo DC-3 with her skis on for the first time in a long time... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1668147/L/&sid=d61c4459f9052eb513eccfff3270892e

This here is called Cockpit Resource Management, or CRM... Of course when there are this many chefs in the kitchen, it can get a bit confusing as to who should switch what switch when...? http://www.airliners.net/photo/Iran-Air/Boeing-747SP-86/1941366/L

Sorry about that as well, maybe just delete those posts to clean up the thread. I certainly have no objection to that. What I'm really looking forward to is a new reason to fly my DC-3 in FSE. While I enjoy using Heinz's model, it really isn't all that exciting to look at or use, especially when it comes to procedures... The same goes for your SAAB 340, I can't wait to fire up the one I own in FSE she's got a whole ten minutes on the hobbs, and is somewhere in the Middle East, but she is going to be one heck of a ride.

Tried that as well, with a reduced power cruise and props in a fine pitch, still climbing all the time. I even tried going through painmaker and got rid of the custom autopilot settings, the same behaviour continues. So then I installed a vertical speed mode set up in the cockpit, and even with a flat pitch setting and a zero climb rate set the aircraft still climbs... The IL-14 is one of the few aircraft that I've ever had real problems with, and it's also one that I would really like to get running perfectly.
-
Of course, I over interpreted the post. Any real aircraft would have stellar autopilot.
-
The IL-14 autopilot is flawed, Felis knows that, and no matter the aircraft speed, centre of gravity, loading, or how much down pitch you give the autopilot, it always ends up climbing... Hopefully this autopilot behaves in a much more believable manner.
-
So in other words your modelling the old Sperry Autopilot, which had no altitude hold and no coupling for precision approaches. Rather all it really did was allow the pilot to set a heading, turn, climb and descend in poor weather in a more controlled manner...
-
Are you kidding me? I'd much rather have the original. DC-3's weren't ment to be modernized. Ha, I doubt a DC3-NGX version would ever be possible, the screens would vibrate out of their housings! Alright, I see the mistake I made, I said updated... Blimey, should have said FAA / Transport Canada certified STC approved, upgraded panel or something along those lines. Really the upgrades aren't all that horrendous, the plane looks the same, flies the same, coughs and sputters, etc... All it does is add some radios, change a few gauges, etc... I was definitely not talking about some glass panelled, G1000, manicured modern princess. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
-
I hardly think there is anything wrong with this sort of "modernization"... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1846306/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1692907/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1772177/L/
-
Very nice. Hopefully a more updated version of the cockpit will also be included, such as the one shown in the Buffalo Airways photos?
-
Let me be clear that I do not own the CRJ, so this is just speculative. Could you have run into icing conditions? If so, your PITOT and Static ports are likely frozen over, which can result in bizarre behaviour like this. Were you overloaded for your cruising altitude? Aircraft, while certified to fly at a service ceiling, cannot be expected to fly there if loaded. The Falcon 7X, for example, is certified to a service ceiling of FL510, or 51,000 feet. It cannot, however, even get to that altitude when loaded to the brim with over 5000 gallons of JetA and an additional cargo or passenger weight... Just some thoughts. It would be good to tell us what the aircraft weight was, and what the weather conditions were.

At this point, 10.6.7 is the most current OS for Macs. Until Lion is released sometime in July.
-
It is extremely unlikely until X-Plane gets a much wider audience, and not only that, but when the payware market within X-Plane begins accepting aircraft with a price of over $70 to be the norm. Javier's CRJ is priced at $60, which initially caused a stir, but has become more accepted as time goes on, if someone like PDMG comes along and makes a plane thinking they can sell it for $100 in the X-Plane market, they are likely going to give up quickly because they will not see the kind of returns they enjoy in the MSFS market.

Ever since I saw these pictures posted on the FSE forums, I've fallen in love again with the Connie... Man I wish we could get something as good, heck we can do even better than it, nudge nudge Goran and Theo, lol...
-
It looks like it just came off the Douglas assembly line, and while thats nice, we can't forget the DC-3's that have been going strong for the last 50-60+ years... She needs more grease, grime, dirt, etc. All in all, it looks excellent.
-
I'll second that, and with an included Buffalo Airways paint, maybe C-FLFR? Great looking aircraft, even though it is only in the mesh stage. What I'd love to see is a piston pounder like the DC-3 modelled to perfection with all of the quirks and oddities included. Also, Goran, would you be interested in some DC-3/C-47 manuals? EDIT: Just found some excellent cockpit shots of some of the Buffalo birds, showing how they have been semi modernized... http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1926582/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1846306/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1772177/L/ http://www.airliners.net/photo/Buffalo-Airways/Douglas-C-47A-Skytrain/1692907/L/
