I was discussing the subject with my ground school instructor. We were both discussing how we each used our iPads during flights, and I asked him what he would do if his iPad stopped functioning. He promptly pulled out his iPhone and told me he had all his aeronautical app subscriptions on his iPhone as well

So much truth here. I'll never forget my first two solos (soloed in gliders first). Being there alone for the first time, the realization that you are a PILOT, is a feeling like no other. Takes a while to sink in, but come to think about it, the fact still hasn't sunk in for me. Brings a smile to my face every time! Definitely, it's an irreplicable feeling of joy!

Hehe thanks guys!! And honestly the sheer joy and excitment overpowered my nervousness! I kept my cool and also kept the biggest smile on my face! When you'll do your first solo, you'll be way too content to even feel nervous

Try turning off Pixel Shaders. That really takes a hit on most systems.

Download the Clear Skies Plugin (http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=1728) It can get rid of the fog, and stop it from reappearing.
