  1. Oh, trust me, the insanity has set in. I'm just good at bottling it up. I went through 3 different cover pages and 4 different manual formats before I was happy with the 5th one. And this is after the manuals were done. I've never seen anybody take manuals so seriously. ;D
  2. Well on a PC, you have a higher chance of getting a virus. I do think Macs are a little too much, but hey, people are still buying them like crazy. I think you would be really happy in a Mac though...
  3. Gosh, the 5th time on the manuals! You're going to go insane! ;D
  4. It's manageable. I would recommend that you upgrade your PC though. Apple has a Intel i5 Quad Core for $1200! That's what I'll probably get some day. I'll shoot a really quick video and show you though.
  5. Open a popup - you will see no lag there. It's a tradeoff. The 3d-gauges will refresh slightly slower in order to save frames. If you open a 2d popup however, refresh rate for this window will be boosted - because popup means you need super-precise output. Philipp I actually did get some lag even with the pop-ups, but it's manageable!
  6. Sure would! Even still, on a dual core you get rather used to that lag pretty quick and it is more than manageable to fly. I was in the same boat! Yeah, the iMac should do it. As long as you handle the plane well though, the lag isn't too bad. Well, you guys did it! I'll be honest; I didn't think the installers would be that much of an advantage. After seeing how fast it worked, I realized that it WAS and advantage after all. The multi-core stuff is amazing, as it is outperforming the SSJ, the ERJ, and the Dash by a little. Very professional work...
  7. This would be your CPU running both cores (since you're on a dual core) at 100% likely. As such, it's reaching its maximum and trying to keep up. People with more than two cores will likely never see this issue. Aha. Well, I'm probably going to buy a quad-core iMac with twice the VRAM soon, so that should take care of it.
  8. I'm getting about 40-50 FPS while in the air, so that's way better than expected! My avionics, however, are lagging. Is this on purpose to save frames?
  9. Beautiful plane. It's by far my favorite!
  10. MacBook Pro 2.66 Core 2 Duo 256MB VRAM 4GB RAM Extreme res no anti-aliasing not fog texture I'm getting about 40FPS, which is much better than expeced. It runs better than the ERJ, Dash, and SSJ!
  11. Same here! If you sit there all day expecting stuff, you'll be there for a long time. Who knows, it could get delayed for another month... No seriously, IT BETTER NOT ;D
  12. I was fooling around on Apple's website and I found out about the reuse and recycle program. According to the estimation, Apple should give me $800 bucks if I give them my machine!
  13. The payware market for X-Plane is ridiculous. For $25 bucks, you can get a really nice aircraft from X-Aviation. For the same price, you can get a half-way done airliner. I've wasted SO much money on paywares that simply are not worth it. Heinz's 787 is fun to mess around in, but it's not a "pro SIM." Save your money for CRJ and the SAAB.
  14. Yeah, you're probably right. If I sold my MacBook Pro, I should have a good amount of money to put towards the 27 inch.
  15. Hey guys, with the CRJ very close and X-Plane 10 nearing release as well, I'm considering getting a new computer. With new add-ons approaching, I want to make sure my computer can handle these at a good level. Current Set Up: Macbook Pro 4GB of RAM 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Nividia GeForce 9600M GT-256MB Looking At: iMac 21.5 Inch 2.5GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 1920 x 1080 resolution 4GB (two 2GB) memory 500GB hard drive1 AMD Radeon HD 6750M with 512MB Price: $1200 What do you think the performance difference is?
  16. It's cool to see new users. I've noticed a lot in the past week! These are the most friendly forums, so you found the right place!
  17. Guys, V1.0 is finalized, so there isn't a very high chance of having to resolve bugs before the initial release. Think, it's just installers now. It's not worth the trouble of begging for a release date. Soon, we'll be begging for help on how to fly it, so read those manuals in this time!
  18. I just got some money to get the data! I wouldn't get my hopes up though. Better to just wait...
  19. That sucks! They had the coolest paint scheme before.
  20. Thanks for posting! I've always liked the layout of the CRJ cockpits. They look really comfortably.
  21. Think it's okay considering the guy is enthusiastic about the 737 project and it seems to be the factor that has made him look into X-Plane. Welcome, bigtallman! I figured someone else would say it, so I thought I'd go ahead. I didn't mean it in a bad way. Welcome to the forums by the way!
  22. Go to the store and buy the sim nomatter what version it is. If you go to the downloads section on X-Plane's website, you can download the newest update for free! Hope that helps! PS: this probably isn't the best place to ask that. Next time, start a new topic about it!
  23. Sorry Simon, that sucks. > Your computer seems very powerful, so a that is a bit strange. I hope you get it working!
  24. Yeah, surprises are fun but it would suck if they were all surprises. That would eliminate the main purpose of these forums right off the bat. Good input Goran, and I wish you the best in development!
