Someone help me choose a new Video Card.
captainamerican replied to captainamerican's topic in Help!?!
I find it peculiar how on my mac, my little brother seems to run games like Fallout 4 and Witcher 3 as well as GTA V up to 65fps, but on my mac partition, I have low performance on X-Plane. Im moving my X-Plane over to windows to see how much the performance differs. -
Hopping to Lisbon. (Livery by me, grab it at the org)

I've had problems with the installer before as well. My best suggestion is for you to contact X-Aviation support directly.

Its relatively difficult to offer you any type of assistance when one can hardly understand what you're saying. You can start by correcting your grammar and explaining the problem normally.

Enhanced my Delta Livery by adding the logo on the belly. Delta Air Lines is slowly adding belly logos to their aircraft! Showing off my Swissair Livery, grab it on the org! And two nice cockpit shots for you!

Went on a Qantas montage the other night. Jar A330 from Christchurch to Sydney first, followed by Flight Factor's 767 from Sydney to Melbourne.

Thanks for the Feedback Guys. I got a Gigabyte R9 with 3GB of VRAM. Should run fine on my Mac -
Hey guys, maybe I'm not the most competent when it comes to X-Plane and Hardware. I am running X-Plane on a Mac Pro computer which really limits my options when it comes to software and hardware. However, I have a good feeling about AMD Cards and would like to ask someone who is running AMD GPUs: Is it worth it? I am thinking of purchasing an AMD Radeon R9 280X 3GB Video card for my computer. Its one of the few that come with mini display ports for my thunderbolt display. However, there are other AMD cards out there, such as the AMD Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video card. Both the R9 280X and the HD 7950 are the same price and have similar specs, so which one should I purchase and would run well on X-Plane? (I am happy with a 3GB card because I don't run many addons and already run X-Plane at 20 FPS with a 1GB card. I only want a new GPU to get even higher frame rates without really changing my settings) Thank you! Happy Holidays.

Ramzzess Boeing 777 Worldliner Professional
captainamerican replied to themadhatter235's topic in Aircraft
You guys are bombing him with negative feedback and making corny jokes to the point when I can actually sense the maturity level here. Sir, it is a payware plane, therefore you must buy it. There is no way of getting it for free. If you really want it, purchase it and enjoy it. I would also recommend purchasing the Flight Factor 767 because it is more advanced and better simulated than both the 777 an 757. Sorry to disappoint, please refrain from asking these types of questions in the future. -
Back at it. Short Flight from Los Angeles to Phoenix to practice and familiarize myself with the plane before taking on my long-haul mission from JFK to LHR (which I will post later) Flight Factor 767-300ER. This has to be one of my favorites, the wing flex is right, the reflections the effects, eyecandy is superb. I really do hope they add the 200, F, and the 400 versions.

WARNING - Today's X-Plane Update.
captainamerican replied to captainamerican's topic in General Discussion
This is the same exact conclusion that I have drawn based on all these experiences. So far, JAR and FF have done their part and updated their aircraft. EDIT: This is exactly why the warning goes out to Mac Users haha. Thanks for clearing it up sir! -
No sir, I meant in 3D cockpit view, to move out of the walls and set a wing view just slightly outside the cabin. Of course I can literally get outside, otherwise I wouldn't be able to take those screenshots

After several flightless months, I've had some time to fly long haul over Thanksgiving. Quite a stress reliever to finally have time for X-Plane after such a while! Today's flight originated from New York JFK and destined to Amsterdam AMS, using the route operated by Delta Air Lines flight 48. Sunrise over the Atlantic calls for some screenies Dawn over the Ocean Significantly brighter outside now as we progress toward Amsterdam: Despite the challenging weather in Amsterdam this afternoon, heavy rain and crosswinds, still touched down on runway 22. (Quick note, I can't get outside the plane and set my wing views on the 757. On the 777, I moved out the doors in 3D view and set my views. Can anyone help me get outside the walls in the 757? ) Thanks for reading and Happy Flying

WARNING - Today's X-Plane Update.
captainamerican replied to captainamerican's topic in General Discussion
Okay Guys, Problem is Solved. I was running the FF777 and 757 older versions, So i updated and reactivated all my aircraft to newest versions which run the newest and most compatible SASL. However, since I like the B777 v1.7 because of Pumpers Cockpit, I downloaded the patch here and installed it on v1.7 without any problems so far. -

Yes, it is related to that. Now I am unsure of what to do. -
WARNING - Today's X-Plane Update.
captainamerican replied to captainamerican's topic in General Discussion
Ive just noticed some problems running B777 ever since the update. Seems like an issue: Notice in the screenshot, the altitude is increasing even though Im on the ground with the engines off. I also hear sounds like flap movements and fire warnings randomly, and finally as I click the aircraft menu, the program crashes. This has happened to me countless times.. -
While it is too early to decide whether the new update is already bugged, because every system and setup varies, this warning goes out only to Mac OS X users. However, I would recommend Windows users to take a look at this as well and comment if you have noticed anything. Dear fellow Mac Users, I highly recommend holding off on the current update because there are issues between X-Plane and 3rd party plugins. One of these is SASL; causes the system to crash every time. This is straight from my Log.txt: --=={This application has crashed because of the plugin: SASL}==-- Guys, if you are the type to frequently install betas, please skip this one. I hope this whole post wasn't redundant, because perhaps I'm the only one who had done this to myself so far Happy Flying and Happy Thanksgiving. EDIT: PROBLEM SOLVED: Dear Mac Users who are running OS X EL CAPITAN. Please make sure your aircraft are using the Newest Version of SASL to avoid any compatibility issues. While were at this, I'm thinking of upgrading my computer hardware. So far this is what I've been running it on: - 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon - 12 GB Ram - AMD Radeon HD 6870 - 512GB HDD - 24" Monitor The specs may not seem high end, but I run X-Plane with moderately high settings and get a plausible 30ish FPS. However, I am looking to max out my computer and push for some higher settings in x-plane, as well as accommodate my machine for Adobe programs and such.. Any suggestions/thoughts?

Try bare minimum settings and gradually increase until a satisfactory setup and satisfactory performance.

Im in college and barely find time to go on this site. Imagine working on a project like this.. its most likely dead common sense guys. if not, don't expect anything new for a while.
