  1. what is this exactly?
  2. yeah but the person seems to be a newbie so cut him slack. No newbie knows about the whole 777 thing that happened two years ago.
  3. Obviously this is a project to follow, but in the mean time there are other promising and professional projects going on right now. Flight factor is keeping it secret but I heard they are working on a massive 777 and 757 update and coming out with a 767 soon. Theres also two a330's in development, a JAR A330-200 and a A330-300 that is already is beta phase from a new team (Jetsim) Which look really nice. So theres definitely something to have fun with while we wait for this.
  4. make sure gizmo is running
  5. Patience is a virtue. By the looks of it, Michael is wrapping up. For an amateur developer unlike Flight Factor, this is a very high quality add-on. The 787 has come a long way and Im sure that Michael will release by the end of the year. [Especially since every livery is coming with a custom cabin layout for that real life airline, something Flight Factor didn't even do, wouldn't expect it to be a short project] EDIT: Spelling
  6. hmmm. I got an email on August 7th saying its coming out the following day. Didn't get anything else or any links. Is it me or is the update still not online yet? (I can't tell if these thank you posts are from people who already have the new update or simply replying to the main release post)
  7. As much as I don't like paying costly prices for X-Plane add ons, Ill still do it X-Plane has really transformed over the past two years with these new aircraft, software, and scenery. Feels like real life now. So I guess its worth it.
  8. I bought skymaxx v1.3 and thought it was amazing. but THIS! JohnMaxx, you're one of those people who contribute so much to the X-Plane world. You and your team put beauty and feel, into simulation. Congratulations and I look forward to using v2 tomorrow.
  9. Someone has to develop some nice japanese airports for v10, especially Tokyo
  10. I agree that the base price of $60 for addon aircraft is through the roof. Way too overpriced. We pay $80 plus shipping for the whole simulator, yet then pay 80% - 120% of the simulator price for aircrafts. In my opinion they should not be more then $25-30. Not every simmer is able to afford that much. If the average X-Plane user owns all the available Heavy Jets, the 757, 777, A320, and CRJ-200 that means he/she would have spent roughly 4 times the amount of X-Plane 10 Itself. That doesn't include general aviation airplanes and other airplanes we buy (Or scenery, airports, and eyecandy add ons). I myself spent a combined total of $480 on addons.
  11. Ive had life changing experiences as well and my outlook on the world is also different, however, my opinion is not relevant on this topic. Is there any update on the crash site? I never thought a plane crash would involve politics.
  12. As a Ukrainian myself, I can confirm that the translations were correct. I have family in Ukraine that were drafted, and they are conducting operations to stop the terrorists once and for all. Unfortunately, there is a large amount of evidence suggesting that these so called "terrorists" are russian trained undercover troops, based on their findings of russian weapons, documents, recordings, and eyewitness accounts. There is so much instability in this world but let us all remember to be kind to one another. Sometimes we forget that there are more important and more serious things happening in this world.
  13. Some Aircraft carriers are actually there and some are objects x-plane generates for scenery. Go to rendering options and just turn off draw aircraft carriers and frigates. Then spawn in an airport near water and do your catshots and landings.
  14. Inspired by niebeiski's screenshot story, a short one of my own. Air France 8: Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG) - New York (JFK) For this flight, I connected to x-ivap and actually synchronized my flight with the real world Air France Flight 8, so X-Plane and real life AFR 8 were flying simultaneously in the same aircraft and on the same route. I might have been one or two minutes off but it felt pretty cool. No screenshots of departure or takeoff sorry, time goes by and concentration. However, this is shortly over 2,500 feet, 1 minute after takeoff. Breaking through cumulous clouds from 5,000 to 8,000 feet. One of the best things in X-Plane is how beautiful simulated everything is, to the point where you (almost) get the same feeling as if you were flying in real life. Making a turn over our first leg of the journey VOR PG26, and climbing over 10,000 Feet. At this point VNAV has been turned on and its all smooth sailing from here. Passenger view and some beautiful scenery as the aircraft climbs out of France. Cruising at FL360 and Mach .86 After 5 and a half hours of flight, we make landfall over Nova Scotia, the time now is past 8 PM EST and the sun has set. Very dark but partly visible descent. New York is just under those clouds. Instruments showing Final Approach path toward runway 04R Time moves so fast during landing that I had to stay inside the cockpit and focus. The landing was smooth, the back gears kissed the tarmac and the nose gear gently descended onto the runway following a trail of tire smoke. The reverse thrust engaged and the aircraft slowed down and then taxied of the tarmac. Lights up and welcome to New York! Time to disembark. The Real Life AFR8 Landed at 9:24 PM EST, I landed at 9:29 EST. I was just 5 minutes behind, probably because of a slower approach speed, but It felt like I was flying the real thing, and the Flight Factor 777-200 made it seem that way, along with Sky Maxx Pro and Flywithlua + Tweaks. The flight time was 7 Hours and 32 minutes. The End
  15. Freeworld Airways 777-200LR JFK-AMS
  16. I would like to offer some constructive criticism. I don't mean to criticize your airline, but it seems a little dull with the liveries and a lack of some popular x-plane aircraft in the fleet like the JarA320 or Flight Factor Aircraft.
  17. No word for two months. I hope progress is still being made
  18. That looks really really nice!
  19. Although there were no updates the past few weeks, work still continues. I had exams to account to first, now that school is over, release is imminent.
  20. What KLAX scenery is that? Looks better then pay ware O.o
  21. Fantastic!
  22. Absolutely Incredible! What add ons are you using???
  23. Did a lot of overlay work today with taxiway and runway edits from the initial conversion. Static Aircraft and autogates come last, but right now I am working on optimizing the scenery for V10 (such as lighting) and making it plausible. In the conversion some terminal textures were misplaced but they are all back now. Still some work left to do: Teasers: Once again this is not my scenery, just my conversion and upgrades. Terminals, taxiways, objects, and underlay are credit to the Flight Simulator Interskystudio. EDIT: More images added and spell check xD
