Bummer, but that's what I figured. There are times during the day where I would be able to squeeze out 15-30 minutes of work (mostly 15). I was thinking if I could get WED running on the iPad, I'd be able to start working on a couple of strips that interest me.
-
Anyone know if it is possible to run WED or some other scenery building utility on an iPad?

A suggestion, meant only to help not offend, please ignore if you don't like it:

I noticed this the first time I ran XP10. Subsequent googling revealed that the lighting in XP10 is much less intense than it was in XP9. Unfortunate.

Some VATSIM traffic shots as I was departing LOWW this morning: Ground movements: Holding short RWY 34 for an inbound heavy: His paint looks a little nicer than my (lack of) paint: I wonder if he's on X-Plane as well, or if the runways in MSFS scenery line up that well with the ones in X-Plane: And I'm ready to line-up and take-off: It was a busy morning in Vienna!

T50: Is that add-on scenery? The water looks incredible! Colin: Nice night shot. Which plane? Is that the CRJ? I had Fly! (or maybe it was Fly! II) and was unimpressed with the rendering. FS9 was my go-to for a long time, but I never really got on board with FSX. Once I finally overcame my resistance to the XPlane UI and figured out how to fly something that wasn't on rails, I dumped MSFS altogether.

Where would the fun be in that, though?
-
Thanks! I think I looked at it once before and wound up going with the C400 (Corvalis TT, Columbia, Cessna, whatever...lol). I might have to go check that one out. You...you flew a...boat?! Seriously, though, that's a fantastic shot. Crisp, clean.

Nice looking plane, edwin. Which model of the SR-22 is that?

Low level hop across Bulgaria; ice forming on inlet: No more rain means no more ice!

Funny thing, I never associated the full flaps with the AP disconnecting. 16 flights later, I learned something new. LOL.

I don't have a screen shot, but what I do after getting the engines running and the generators engaged is: Put switch on Dump and allow it to stabilize (climb/descent needle goes back to zero)Put switch back on PressurizationSet Pressure Altitude to 6000 or soTurn air flow knobs up to 3 or 4Turn temperature knobs up to about 8 o' clock Put the two temperature switches (ganged) on ManualTurn the fan onThe only time I've had a pressure warning is when I've forgotten to put the switch back on Pressurization.

[IN PROGRESS] A few 1.03 questions/issues
cruster replied to woweezowee's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
I haven't installed checklister or your config for it, but I've been following along intently. Is it possible to throw a checklist item/step in before starting the engines, reminding me to start XACARS? -
How do I restart engine in flight?
cruster replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Pulling the power off is exactly what I do to keep the prop RPM under 100% (I let them run up to the bottom edge of the red line, but no farther). It does require fiddling/adjustment during flight, as wind changes and pressure changes seem to effect the engines/props. I've done multi-hour flights at normal flight levels, though, with no problems at all. -
suggestions to make jetstream the best.
cruster replied to manguras's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
Ditto. Also, as an aside anyone care to weigh in on XFMC vs. UFMC? Pros/cons, relative merits? Not for the JS32, though...I have a plugin that loads flight plans into the GPS and that works just great. -
Saab 340A Cockpit Preview - December 10, 2012
cruster replied to Cameron's topic in Saab 340 - Released!
I understand the sentiment, but speaking for myself, there are plenty of other models to pass the time with. Right now i have a JS32 I need to get from Ethiopia to Michigan, USA. She's sitting in Bulgaria at the moment, so there's a couple of week's flying left. Once I get that bird 'home', I'll start working on the Duchess* I just bought (in FSE), taking her from Germany to Michigan as well. That'll kill some time, too, I bet.If I didn't have FSE to give some direction to my simming time, I'd probably be pretty anxious about the next big plane. Waiting is always the hardest part. * we managed to get the Duchess 76 released as a model in the FSE lineup last gift. Huge thanks to Paul (Odaat) for getting it added so quickly. Woohoo! X-aviation releases in FSE are a great match. -
How do I restart engine in flight?
cruster replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
That's really strange, chaps. On my last flight I flew almost two hours at FL140 with the cooler flaps closed and had zero problems. And I was about 680 kg over max weight (it was a v$24,000 job in FSE and I just couldn't resist pushing the envelope. HA!). Here's a shot of my gauges about, oh, one-quarter into the flight (LTBI-LB40): Side note: had winds of just over 50 kts coming out of 225-230 the whole way. -
Some days it feels like I'll never get out of Turkey: Now it's Istanbul... ...not Constantinople. Been a long time gone, Constantinople. Why did Constantinople get the works? Go ask the Turks!
-
If it were possible to have those seasonal textures automatically follow the real-world, I'd pay money. Seriously. I'd pay slightly less to have them but need to manually install. The winter ones look like what I see outside my window right now (but from ground level, as I'm not flying..haha). Great shots and they really show off the potential of what X-Plane could become.

How do I restart engine in flight?
cruster replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
I am embarrassed to admit I haven't read the updated manual. Since installing v1.03, though I have noticed that the left engine is a lot more sensitive to over-RPM than the right. I'll get the amber warning light for the left engine but hardly ever the right. Just like chaps noted above, I bring the throttle back a bit and everything is good. I've found that I can cruise around 240-250 knots (ground speed, 220 or so indicated) with fuel flow around 135 on each side and not have a problem with over-RPM. With a favorable tail wind, ground speed can push 290-300 kts, but I wind up forced to throttle back to around 100-110 kg/hour fuel flor or the props go into over-RPM again. -
Nice video. Is this XP9?

JS32 all over Turkey last night. One of these days I'll manage to get some traction and head towards home (NA).

How do I restart engine in flight?
cruster replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
arb65912: That's strange. I just flew LTAF-LTBI at FL140 and had no problems at all (other than the sheer boredom of night flying on autopilot). I'm using XP10.11 32-bit, by the way. Intrance: Thanks for the input. A couple less things for me to lay awake at night wondering about. -
How do I restart engine in flight?
cruster replied to arb65912's topic in British Aerospace Jetstream 32
As an aside, I've often wondered how cold the cockpit is when the flight crew first gets in it in the morning. Say you're in MSP or someplace similar around February. Do the ground crews pre-heat the interior? How long does it take the climate control system to get it comfortable? Edit: And another thing (as I'm flying around Turkey at night time)...are the panel labels and instrument lights really *that* yellow in the real-world JS32? -

If it makes a difference, arb, I've noticed in (v1.02) that the auto setting for oil cooler flaps leaves them open the entire flight. My recollection is that the normal operating temperature is somewhere between 55 and 100. Generally, I open them for run up and takeoff, then manually close them once I'm well into the climb and nearing cruise altitude. If I remember, I will re-open them on the descent, but I don't always remember. :S So far I haven't had a problem.
