  1. Hi, After the first batch of UHD Mesh Scenery tiles released in February 2015, there is now a new set of additional regions to be enjoyed. They are: Northern Washington state (west of the already existing Montana UHD region)Canadian Rockies (between 49N and 55N ... from the Pacific to the plains around Calgary - quite a big area )Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden)Pyrenees in EuropeThey are all using - just like before - 30m / 1sec resolution data (either from Viewfinderpanoramas / NED or SRTM) and much higher resolution triangle mesh to be able to use all that detailed data. One "difference" is, that the new regions are based on newer Openstreetmap data (from around end of April 2015). Important: Because of this, the "UHD Mesh Scenery v1" Scenery is very heavy on hardware resources and will only run smoothly on modern, higher end PCs. Its very important - before even considering a download - to have at least 16 GBytes of RAM and a modern / powerful GPU! Especially when activating the new, "extended DSF" feature in X-Pane 10.40, the RAM requirement might double! The complete coverage is now: All informations, possible updates, installation instructions, and download links can be found here (IMPORTANT: you do not need to re-donwload old UHD files, as they have not been changed / updated!): http://www.alpilotx.net/downloads/x-plane-10-uhd-mesh-scenery-v1/A lot of NEW screenshots can be seen here: https://picasaweb.google.com/101666907909842492197/UHDMeshSceneryV1NewRegions?authuser=0&feat=directlinkPS: I would like to ask all users, who are fluent in other languages than English or German (and have time), to please spread this news in other forums / new sites

  2. We are seeking pilots to volunteer for a study examining how meteorological information displays affect pilot weather decision-making. Fixed-wing licensed pilots and currently enrolled student pilots who are at least 18 years of age and live in the US are eligible to participate. As you know, adverse weather conditions in aviation can lead to delays, deviations, and even accidents. As a result, Atmospheric Technology Services Company, LLC and the Georgia Institute of Technology are conducting a study on how different weather display technology influences pilot decision-making. As a participant in this study, you will be asked to complete an online demographics questionnaire regarding your flight experience, ratings, and other items. Following the demographic questionnaire, the participant pilots will be asked to evaluate various weather scenarios. The study will take no more than 1-hour to complete. We hope that you will consider participating and assisting us in learning more about weather display technology. Participation will assist us in learning more about weather display technologies with the goal of improving aviation safety. The supported internet browsers are Chrome 4.0 or higher, Internet Explorer 10.0 and higher, Firefox 4.0 or higher, and Safari 3.1 or higher. In addition, Javascript must be enabled. 3. File Name: The LV-FOB-livery for the Alcalá Simulación Cessna 170 File Submitter: Leen de Jager File Submitted: 13 Dec 2014 File Category: General Aviation X-Plane Version(s): X-Plane 9 & 10 Livery For: Click Here For Aircraft Cessna 170 LV-FOB-livery , for C170B by Alcalá Simulación This great little ( freeware in payware-quality) plane is available for download at http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=22871 This plane is available for X-Plane 9 and 10. Make sure to use the latest Version 1.03 !!! This paint ( and a bit more) is a joint-venture by Antonio "AFNavarro" and Leen "Flybike" de Jager This paint made by Leen is based on the basic-paint-kit AFNavarro made for this aircraft. The custom-normals for this model ( ondulated-skin effect) have been made by the two of us, its hard to tell who placed which pixel, where. More important is, we are both very happy with the result. Some OBJ-files were edited by Leen to add some gloss -effects. For those who like a bit "older" engine-sounds, Leen created some new sound files. Most important of all a big THANK YOU to Alcalá Simulación thanks Adrián Do you want to fly this livery? Unzip this download LV-FOB-download.zip to a temp folder and read instructions carefully Enjoy Antonio Leen Click here to download this file

  4. For anyone interested, I've also uploaded Slovakia. I'll try and get Poland done later this week before finishing this region and moving onto the next (Probably Germany).

  5. Yeh, the original's a Gulfstream, but the paint was too good not to have on the Challenger. That's why I called it M-UZAK instead. Some of the real world Challenger paints are a bit uninspiring. Now, Gulfstreams and Embraers.......
