majdadsf Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Great Plane. Only one issue is that I am unable to start the autopilot. It will ingage for a second than turn off. I have Saitek's mult, switch and radio panels attached. It will not activate the AP either.
Goran_M Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 I'll need some more details. Are you trying to use trim while the AP is engaged? Are you trying to steer the AP with the yoke instead of the AP knobs on the Sperry Panel?Once the AP is engaged, you are not to touch any hardware controls you have. You will need to control the aircraft using ONLY the dedicated Roll, Yaw and Pitch knobs on the AP panel.

Tried it flying level and still will not allow AP to turn on
Goran_M Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Can you PM me the version of X Plane this is happening in, and the exact procedure you are using with as much detail as possible?
PWJT8D Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Turn the Inverter off and then try it... I noticed when I have the autopilot on and I turn the Inverter on it cuts off the autopilot.. Why? I don't know but it's worth a try.
Goran_M Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 I just noticed that myself, literally 3 minutes ago. The ON/OFF is reversed. For now, keep the inverter switch in the OFF position. We'll log that one for the first update.

We'll log that one for the first update.Do I win a prize!!?Okay so that makes sense then. Today in my flights just learning the aircraft and familiarizing myself with the instruments I had noticed that my Inverter was off, the second I would toggle it to the "ON" position the autopilot would cut out. I was more thinking that I did something wrong in how the systems were tied although the manual says to keep the Inverter on. I had just returned it to the "OFF" position and disregarded it as a problem. I should had mentioned something but wasn't educated enough in it to feel confident to do so.
Goran_M Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 A prize? Yes. Make it down to Australia and I'll buy you a beer. Anyway, just been fixed. It'll be uploaded shortly.
Cameron Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Fix is currently being uploaded...will message back when complete!
Cameron Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 Okay! Fix is uploaded. You'll need to re-download to obtain it! To do so:1. Login to your X-Aviation account here: https://www.x-aviati...talog/login.php2. View your past order history invoice that contains the DC-3 purchase on it.3. At the bottom of the invoice you will find a blue highlighted link to your update that says: "Douglas DC-3".Run the installer. It will uninstall your old install and replace with the new!
mutestyles Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 lol we have to download the whole thing Oh well its worth it i love this thing. Off topic some sort of click to regions or something like that would be great in a future update beings how when not in autopilot it can be a bit daunting to look around and click or move things that need to be done. Just a thought.
Cameron Posted April 2, 2012 Report Posted April 2, 2012 lol we have to download the whole thing Oh well its worth it i love this thing.Sadly so, and I'm sorry for that! After years of doing tech support I've found this approach is easiest for both X-Aviation in the customer service department and you as customers. If you uninstall or lose/buy a new hard drive and need to re-install, attempting to use your old installer will result in you dealing with this again plus having to seek out the separate patch. This is just a whole bunch of less angst in the end for everyone! Additionally, in previous times it was common for folks to accidentally delete files or not install patches correctly. This method avoids that hassle entirely!
