How necessary is the motherboard system clock with regards to X Plane. Recently my MB has been experiencing problems with the system clock. I changed out the CMOS battery but that hasn't helped with the clock loosing time. I think it may be a mother board issue as I am having LAN drop outs now also ( I have to reset the LAN). Since the system clock has started loosing time, I now have issues with my X-Aviation payware and my FJS 732 aircraft not working in XP.

Is there any kind of fix, other than replacing the MB ( BTW I have a new MB ordered). Any kind of work around avail?

Thanks for your help

You need a time on your system thats within +- 12 hours of internationally accepted correct time.

Activation is not your issue here sir. Your computer is dead.

I considered it dead and have ordered a new MB.

I had the same problem and installed the freeware "PTBSync 5.8". You only have to set the actual time after having started the PC and the time will stay synchronized and correct (over the Internet) as long as you dont shut your PC down. I really can recommand that software.

Meanwhile all the rotting components create all sorts of wonderful data corruption possibilities.

Faulty electronics are not worth the frustration and wasted time.

What kind of problems arte you talking about? I had no problem at all until yet and run it since a few months.
