That's a shame, it would be nice if the grass/dirt/gravel field takeoff and landing issues could be fixed.

But, I guess like all digital products, eventually they reach their end of life cycle where developers no longer update/support them.

Support?  Yes.  Update?  That's a different story.  Gravel is tricky (almost impossible) to work with in X-Plane.

I think the flight model was adjusted in the last update to make it perform better on gravel, but I would have to go back and check.

To overcome the grass/dirt/gravel field takeoff and landing issues I have changed the Landing Gear Friction Coefficients in Planemaker (Standard, Landing Gear, Gear Data) to:-

Rolling Co Friction 0.025

Maximum Co Friction 0.750.

This works for me on grass dirt and gravel.

But I assume it destroys the asphalt and concrete runway performance... Which is also not good when you want to take off from bigger airport, go to gravel strip and return back.

Tried it in the wet, runway wet, on asphalt and concrete and it taxies, takes off and lands like a dream. Yoke and rudder pedals probably make it easier as does keeping the tavying speed down.

Interesting.  I might have to try this again and run through some more tests.  The rain was my biggest obstacle.  Landing is one thing, but I have to make sure it lands and has the correct ground run on landing in the wet, as well as dry concrete and wet/dry gravel..
