RealScenery Posted September 1, 2011 Report Posted September 1, 2011 The new forums are great in that you can customize the most recent posts as well. Make sure you look at the options on the left side of the "View New Content" page. I have a bookmark to view unread posts. For me, this is the best way to keep up on all the posts so I don't miss anything. Also, at the top of each forum is a button which allows you to follow that topic and recieve an alert if a new post occurs.
Cameron Posted September 1, 2011 Author Report Posted September 1, 2011 I miss that old X-Pilot feature that would tell you all of the latest posts since your last visit! I totally missed the news about NorCal being done!Outside of what the other guys have already said here, the news was also posted on the homepage, Perry. - http://www.x-pilot.com
paulyg Posted October 1, 2011 Report Posted October 1, 2011 So... any news on a possible release anytime soon?
Cameron Posted October 1, 2011 Author Report Posted October 1, 2011 So... any news on a possible release anytime soon? Thanks for showing some excitement! We are inching very close to a release. There was a MAJOR backend overhaul done for this package. Tests thus far have gone well and we're in the phase of finishing up last minute touches.I don't want to give a finalized date, but I'd say we're VERY VERY close.
paulyg Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Is the package still on track for release?
RealScenery Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 Absolutely! X-Aviation has been working hard on the new installer and server back-end programming to make this all come together. You can find out a bit more on the latest X-Aviation blog post here:http://blog.x-aviation.com/2011/10/the-happenings-at-x-aviation/I'd expect some announcements from X-Aviation very soon!Eric 1
wotaskd Posted November 1, 2011 Report Posted November 1, 2011 Hey Cameron,Just curious, now that you are testing X-Plane 10, about how do RealScenery packages integrate with it. I would assume that all OSM integration and procedural buildings are overridden by the package, would that be the case?
Cameron Posted November 2, 2011 Author Report Posted November 2, 2011 Hey Cameron,Just curious, now that you are testing X-Plane 10, about how do RealScenery packages integrate with it. I would assume that all OSM integration and procedural buildings are overridden by the package, would that be the case?RealScenery works flawlessly in X-Plane 10. Load times are fantastic, and the scenery mixed with X-Plane's lighting is really very nice. The pack overrides whatever we tell it to. In X-Plane 9 we made the decision to override due to the poor placement of objects in sim. With X-Plane 10 the verdict is still out. Depending on how it looks we'll make the decision to choose whatever makes the scenery look most convincing in sim!Should we choose to make some kind of update for this, all customers who have purchased for 9 will get a FREE upgrade to 10.
GrahamH Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 Cameron, that's great to hear about x-plane 10 compatibility. This is one release that I'm very excited about!Hope she comes soon.
Nano Posted January 31, 2012 Report Posted January 31, 2012 The website says Fall 2011. What is the status? And goodness, you've been working on NORCAL since summer of 2009. Scary :unsure:But really looking forward to it. Have Washington and Oahu and definitely enjoy them.Nano
Cameron Posted January 31, 2012 Author Report Posted January 31, 2012 And goodness, you've been working on NORCAL since summer of 2009. Scary :unsure:Aside from being a large package, it was also completely finished at one time before we decided we did not like the quality and scrapped it to start completely over.
flavio Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Aside from being a large package, it was also completely finished at one time before we decided we did not like the quality and scrapped it to start completely over.So this just happened? or we can still expect a release of the scenery soon?
Cameron Posted February 20, 2012 Author Report Posted February 20, 2012 So this just happened? or we can still expect a release of the scenery soon? You can still expect a release soon. We're speaking over the course of over a year where we decided to re-do things.
Manni67 Posted March 4, 2012 Report Posted March 4, 2012 You can still expect a release soon.I am really looking forward to this release. Credit card is ready. I highly appreciate your efforts here. Better to redo a project than to rush it out not having achieved the quality that might have been possible!Manni
Cameron Posted March 27, 2012 Author Report Posted March 27, 2012 This would be the place we would post to if we had any important words to say! Stay tuned!....

Sopwith Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 When folks, do you expect north California to be released?
RealScenery Posted July 20, 2012 Report Posted July 20, 2012 We're working on it as I write this. We've had to let the dust settle on X-Plane 10, but we're trying to make this take advantage of both versions 9 and 10 as much as possible. Thanks for your continued interest. I know to many, this seems like a dead project, but I can assure you, it is alive an well! Thanks for your continued interest!Eric
