andydckent Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Hello, I am using skymaxx pro and I've noticed something odd. When I zoom out very far, I get to a certain level that is all blue and I can no longer see the earth just stars. Here are some pics: Zoomed far away Further Space and no earth Not really a huge problem but a bit weird. Also get weird blue glowing clouds sometimes. Mostly it looks good though. wcschulz3 Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Hi all, I too had observed the loss of orbit textures. What I'd like to do is be able to see nice cirrus, but on absolutely clear days (like in the winter), I'd still like to see the earth orbit textures at the distance limits (100 miles in XP?). Since there would be no clouds, this should not be a performance issue. SkyMaxx appears to somehow prevent one from seeing those earth orbit textures under clear conditions (and I have custom textures, so I'm losing access to them). Any way, when the sky is "clear" (some cirrus above), to see "to the (XPlane) visibility limit?ThanksBill Edited November 25, 2013 by wcschulz3 1 Quote
Cameron Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 Hi, Guys, We'll look into this. If I had a quick guess it may be out of our control if I think I know what's causing this. SkyMaxx Pro disables X-Plane's cloud art assets, and it's possible Laminar tied these textures in with that kill switch for us. The kill switch is in place to prevent X-Plane from rendering clouds while we do, which saves big time in performance. Quote
JohnMAXX Posted November 25, 2013 Report Posted November 25, 2013 I am getting the same thing, best course of action right now would be to disable SMP, restore defaults to orbit the earth..... Quote
criley Posted November 30, 2013 Report Posted November 30, 2013 Andy mentioned the Blue Glowing clouds. I too am having this issue. Also the grey sky background is still around which may intensify the blue color. Is there a setting I am missing or is this a bug or something to do with my video card? I see others are having some fantastic results so I am guessing it is not a bug with the plugin. Quote

criley Posted December 1, 2013 Report Posted December 1, 2013 Thanks for replying John.I have noticed it depends on the weather for the location. Are we not supposed to be downloading real time weather? Quote
