X-Rated Falco

This is a much more intense film/edit than the first hurried attempt, since I had 7hrs to kill yesterday!

No crevice or compartment was left unexplored in this one, hence the name - all the bits meant to be unseen have been 'exposed' Hehe. This is probably the first XPlane (indeed ANY sim plane) where you can film the entire vid around the interior of the aircraft itself, without too much regard for scenery (although Phillip Island has come up lovely and green in this version). And to think the interior textures are to be improved, and with a pilot too !

Warning - Do not fly this plane regularly in the manner shown, I broke quite a few bits in doing so....I have sent an urgent warranty claim to Tom, 'I didn't speed or pull high G's officer'

Thanks to Javier for inspiring me to learn the damned focus trick in Sony Vegas, that is a pain to get right, so he's a genius!

Ooh! Ooh! And would it be possible to have the sound of the engine and wind change when the canopy opens in flight?

I think as we introduce the power of Gizmo a bit more to you all you'll start to realize possibilities are starting to become endless and at the restraints of those programming. :D

could be cool to model the canopy weight..so if it is not latched it slides back when pulling up the plane. is it science fiction? ;)

This feature has been discussed and planned! :D

that's a great idea. Having direct consequences of actions/inactions always adds to the immersion! I've started flying it 'seriously' now, you really get an added feel of 'i'm almost really flying and navigating', it's great!

Simon...I think you'll really like the next update handling wise.  Morten and I put some time into the flight model to increase it's stability without sacrificing the nimble handling....I'm having a ball 'flying' it.

Sounds good Tom, the ultimate combo now (a good looker, with brains!) This is the first time I have personally THANKED you for your dedication and upping the bar. I did not spend the time on the video lightly, I really do hope it makes people stop and think 'this is not just another addon'. Can't wait to try the new textures either!

Simon,

Just found out that the designer of the Falco, Stelio Frati (age 91) saw the video yesterday.  He commented that he never thought the Falco would get this far (it was designed in 1955).  Everybody in the real Falco family loves the video..it's been referenced off of Seqair's website also.  Excellent work!

Well thanks Tom, that's wonderful to hear, glad they like it, and an honour that Stelio has seen and likes it. What a genius he must be. I'll check out there forums later.

Simon....little favor?  I don't have Phillip's Island scenery installed.  Could you grab about four, creative, high quality screenshots over Phillips Island showing the Falco and post them here?  At least one interior angle would be good.  These screenshots will be going into the Falco Builder's Newsletter.  We want the screenshots to be over the same area as your video is since your video will be referenced in the newsletter.

no problems Tom, assume it's ok to wait for this weekend? I'll use 4:3 ratio for the screenies.

====================

Finally got to the PC Tom.

Flying around YPID in your Falco has reminded me just how good your creation is. Thankyou for giving us dreamers a hint of what it must be like to fly this classic plane. Hurry up with the update X-Aviation please (but I know you have lots on, so am very patient!)

Alfred of Sequoia left a nice note for you on my Youtube:

"We sell the Sequoia Falco, and in years past I've drawn every single sheet of the Falco plans by hand with ink on mylar, and it's just stunning for me to see the Falco now in an X-Plane model and to be done with such detail. On Saturday, the Falco's designer, Stelio Frati, now 91, watched these in Milan, Italy and Mr. Frati said he never imagined the Falco would come this far. Congratulations to Tom Kyler on this incredible work. — Alfred Scott, Sequoia Aircraft  4 days ago"

Hope these are okay, let me know by pm if you need any tweaks.
