No other city in California, or perhaps all of the USA, is associated with agriculture more than Fresno, in the heart of California's San Joaquin Valley. This flight is overflying Fresno, heading northeast. Fresno-Chandler Executive Airport, KFCH, is shown in the lower right of the image. Highway 99, the Golden State Freeway, is seen to the left side of the image. Highway 180, the Sequoia-Kings Canyon Freeway, is the main route heading east, through the city.

Flying south from the shores of Mono Lake. Located in California's spectacular Eastern Sierra, Mono Lake is an oasis in the dry Great Basin and a vital habitat for millions of migratory birds. Mono Lake is located in a drainage basin that has no outlet to the ocean, which causes high levels of salts to accumulate, making the lake water alkaline.

Flying southeast of the small town of Anderson, between the cities of Redding and Red Bluff. The Sacramento River is at the top of the image. The Shasta County Highway A17 bridge across the Sacramento River is at the top-left of the image. A beautiful area in which to fly!

Are we going to see a release this year?

I suppose we should add the same info here as we did on FaceBook...

The short is:

We've gone through multiple re-do's of NORCAL over the last couple of years. Ultimately this makes the product better and ensures longevity after you purchase it.

That said, that has not been the only stumbling block! We also re-wrote our entire back-end system, our entire cross platform downloading software/installer (which grabs the files from cloud servers after purchase and installs them automatically for you), added Linux, and optimized our automation scripts.

Now we've been showing off these daily teasers with the hopes of showing our completeness of the product. Unfortunately, when 64-bit came out it actually broke the scenery by way of scenery tile alignments and we have been working with Ben Supnik on a fix. As we rely on some tools produced by Laminar to get this done, we are now in a holding pattern while Ben Supnik re-writes some buggy code in MeshTool to correct the issues we have found in 64-bit.

The downside to this is it takes time, and uncontrollable time at that. The upside is you weren't able to purchase this product only to have to re-download gigabytes of data in a patch all over again.

Thanks for taking the time to post an update Cameron.

I'm sorry to hear about the development challenges - what dosen't kill a project only makes it stronger. :)

You guys will get there, and as you say you'll have an awesome backbone in place.

I'm all for short term pain, but long term gain.

Thanks for all of the hard work.

-Darrick.
