niebieski Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 just by looking at it's stabilizer I've been dreaming for years some developer would recreate this very unique plane in simulation world.Sadly, there's seems to be zero percent chance for it to happen. For the last couple of days i've been learning PlaneMaker, Blender (and 3d modelling in general, never done this before), reading OBJ specs, XP plug-in API etc.I would love to sit in it's amazing 3d cockpit with at least half of it's systems simulated. I doubt i will ever get it to this point, but well ...... at least i can dream, right? Quote
niebieski Posted July 21, 2012 Author Report Posted July 21, 2012 Nope, Nimrod has low horizontal stab Quote
Nicola_M Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 ok, i think it's either going to be a Vulcan or Victor. Quote
namaui Posted July 21, 2012 Report Posted July 21, 2012 Then it must be the VC-10's big Russian brother, the IL-62. Quote
niebieski Posted July 22, 2012 Author Report Posted July 22, 2012 (edited) Congratulations, namaui! Here's the 53 meters long beast being born piece by piece at "Blender noob" manufacturing plant:For those of you unfamiliar with Ilyushin Il-62, i highly recommend taking a look at Cubana World Air Routes DVD teaser on YT: Five cockpit members, 18 (eighteen!) windows, hundreds of instruments to look after and specific eastern mentality that goes with operating this plane. Why would you need anything else? Edited July 22, 2012 by niebieski Quote
