hi folks,

new to xplane and have grabbed version 10 - amazing. I was a long time FSX user (and many before) and my brother and I love flying together.

I've talked him into grabbing x-plane 10 - but I for the life of me can't figure out how to pop two planes into the sim over the internet and fly together? What am I missing? Can anyone help and give a brief tutorial?

Greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

Telemole

I take it you have already both entered one anothers' IP addresses? If on the same internet connection, are you use you are entering your local network IP of each PC?

sadly i just couldnt find the options in the menu - I have found them now :)

I am sure there is a multiplayer 'hub' type software that allows random people to find others to fly with - is there any chance anyone has a pointer to a tutorial for this sort of thing? I'd love to just jump into a controlled space and do some practicing with some people?

thanks!

Sadly, there is not that type of thing on a wide scale multiplayer level.

You could, however, logon to PilotEdge, VATSIM, or IVAO and fly in controlled airspace with others online.

And if you prefer to fly online with other pilots without ATC, you could try NetFlight or X-FlightServer:

But PilotEdge has professional quality controllers if you're looking for a very immersive and realistic experience. They even have a series of ratings flights that will teach you almost everything you need to know to communicate with ATC and navigate through the SoCal, and soon NorCal, air space.

Telemole,

i usually use VATSIM, i like it, the controllers can vary from really nice to just pissed off for some reason. most of the time controllers in the U.S. are never on so you can fly online with no ATC but still fly with other pilots to airports. If you get VATSIM, i dont know about the others that were recommended, but if you do get VATSIM get XSquwakbox as, well they help you get online. its an easy process takes just a few mins.

Hope you and your friend find a way to fly together.

happy flying =D
