frankbyte Posted November 12, 2023 Report Posted November 12, 2023 Hi there Many thanks for the newest update. My first flight was departing from ENGM during snowy-conditions. And i observed that during loading the aircraft via the new menu, the ZFW started to increase and never end. It stopped as soon as i put the weather to normal conditions again. It may be because of ice/snow-accumulation. Would it be possible to prevent the preflight-menu to be affected by the increasing ZFW due to the accumulation of ice/snow? That would help catching the right ZFW as desired But of course i don't know if in real life it would be the same, in which case this wouldn't be a "bug" of course. So more a request if something can be done here, although XP simulates the increase of weight during snow. Thank you. Quote
Litjan Posted November 12, 2023 Report Posted November 12, 2023 An interesting question. The ZFW displayed shows the "REAL" weight of the aircraft, a luxury that real pilot do not have. I do not know if X-Plane provides a dataref to show the "pilots think this is right" ZFW... one way to prevent this is to use the default X-Plane "anti icing" function to keep the plane free of snow and ice until you take off (this should be done both in the real world but also in the simulator). Thank you for your feedback. But as far as I know, there is no default anti-ice function that will remove the snow from the wings when on ground...or perhaps i missed that? EDIT: ok solved (see my other question and your answer. Looks like i learned something new) Edited November 12, 2023 by frankbyte Quote
