Sr22captain Posted October 10, 2023 Report Posted October 10, 2023 Bottom line: I downloaded the 2.0 version of TorqueSim SR22 Entegra last night and installed it. However, when I start XP11 I still have the 1.4 version of the aircraft. The installer tells me it was removing the prior aircraft but it seems it did not. I made a second attempt by using the X-aviation uninstaller and removed the aircraft. I confirmed that the ../aircraft/x-aviation folder was empty. Then I re-installed the 2.0 version. When I started XP11 I was once again presented with the 1.4 version of the aircraft. I started a new flight to load the aircraft. I looked at the aircraft info/config slide out on the left side of the screen and it confirmed version 1.4. I am really puzzled. I’ve not had trouble upgrade before this. Background: I built a new rig this weekend and I only mention this in case it has something to do with the problem I’m having. As part of the setting up my new rig, I copied XP11 from my old machine. I had been using version 1.4 of the fantastic TorqueSim SR22 Entegra. After the copy from my old machine to my new rig was complete, I fired up XP11 and was asked to re-verify my X-aviation. After doing so, the v1.4 TorqueSim model worked just as it had on my old rig. Then I downloaded the newest 2.0 model from x-aviation and went through the install process. Everything else is described above in the ‘bottom line’. My ideas for possible cause: 1. Perhaps the 2.0 is not included in my license of the generation 1.x models and I need to purchase the 2.0 model 2. The upgrade is not working due to some complication caused by copying XP11 from my old PC. If I don’t get any good ideas from this post then I will do a clean install of XP11 and try the aircraft install again. 3. Perhaps the 2.0 TorqueSim model does not work on XP11 and requires me to have XP12. If this is the case it seems like the install would give me an error instead of installing 1.4 under the guise of 2.0 Quote

Sr22captain Posted October 10, 2023 Author Report Posted October 10, 2023 They make it sound like it is compatible with XP11 and the installer certainly did not squawk during the install. Quote
Cameron Posted October 10, 2023 Report Posted October 10, 2023 Version 2.0 of TorqueSim SR22 Entegra is designed exclusively for X-Plane 12. Therefore, if you attempt to install it on X-Plane 11, the installer will automatically revert to the last compatible version for X-Plane 11, which is Version 1.4. This is intended behavior to ensure that you can continue using the product on X-Plane 11 without compatibility issues. To summarize: 1. You do not need to make an additional purchase. The installer is designed to provide you with the version of the aircraft that is compatible with the version of X-Plane you are using. 2. The issue is not related to the copying process from your old PC. A clean install of X-Plane 11 will yield the same result. 3. Version 2.0 is intended for X-Plane 12 users only. If you decide to upgrade to X-Plane 12 in the future, you will then be able to install and use Version 2.0 of TorqueSim SR22 Entegra. We hope this clarifies the situation, and we appreciate your understanding. If you have further questions or concerns, feel free to reach out. Quote
Sr22captain Posted October 10, 2023 Author Report Posted October 10, 2023 Thank you so much Cameron. This gives me a good reason to upgrade to XP12 I only wish that the installed had alerted me to this. I wasted some time last night fighting what I assumed was a faulty install. But I’m very happy with the TorqueSim product overall. It’s a great piece of work. Quote
