gct Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 (edited) Windows 10, XP 12.05b3. No Zink. I just installed the SR22 v2.0.0. SR22TN loaded once, but won't load since. SR22 and SR22TN both hang XP on load. I have to kill XP to free it up. Both always hang at line 38 in the log.txt. I only have a few plugins. I've disabled them all, with the same results. I've also reinstalled the SR22s with no change. I've also tried disabling SVS, with no change. Any ideas? log.txt attached. Thanks in advance, Gary Log.txt Edited May 15, 2023 by gct update Quote
gct Posted May 1, 2023 Author Report Posted May 1, 2023 Loaded default cessna 172 1st, then loaded SR22. Made it a little further in the log.txt, but still hung. Installed on XP 11, and it loads fine. Logs attached. XP11 Log.txt XP 12 Log.txt Quote
Coop Posted May 1, 2023 Report Posted May 1, 2023 From the logs, I'm seeing SVS still enabled, disable it by setting "svs" to 0. If disabling that doesn't help, try also setting "disable_mtuploader" to 1 as well in settings.cfg. The settings.cfg file to change is located at: X:\X-Plane-12/Aircraft/X-Aviation/SR22 Series/TorqueSim SR22/plugins/sr_systems/settings/settings.cfg Quote
gct Posted May 1, 2023 Author Report Posted May 1, 2023 Thanks Coop. This time I tried a backup version of my XP12. I removed all plugins. See attached logs 1st log - initial install of SR22, it loaded, and activated. I didn't fly, but it was loaded. 2nd log - All I did was restart XP, and it hung as before, had to crash XP to get out. 3rd log - I set SVS to 0 and disable_mtuploader to 1. hung as before, had to crash XP again to get out. 1 XP12 log sr22 works no plugins initial 2.0.0 install.txt 2 XP12 log sr22 NOT work no plugins 1st restart pf XP.txt 3 XP12 log sr22 NOT work no plugins svs-0 disable_mtuploader-1.txt Quote
gct Posted May 2, 2023 Author Report Posted May 2, 2023 I just installed a fresh copy of XP-12, and installed the SR22. Same results. First boot of xplane, asked for my xaviation login, then plane seems to load. Shutdown xplane, and restarted, load of SR22 hangs xplane in the same spot.. I'm guessing no one else has this issue? gct Posted May 3, 2023 Author Report Posted May 3, 2023 This gets stranger. This morning I updated my mail XP instance to 12.05r1. Both SR22s now load fine. The temp XP install I did, I still can't get the SR22s to load (no issues, I'm going to delete this instance anyway). So for now, i think I'm set, but I have no idea what was wrong... Quote

Odd, I'm glad it is working now. Not sure what happened previously from the prior logs. Quote
gct Posted May 4, 2023 Author Report Posted May 4, 2023 #@$%@%&@#^&#%^&# The reason this plane started working, when I updated XP to 12.05r1, I somehow installed version 1.3.0 of the SR22. 1.3.0 loads fine, but I have not flown it 2.0.0 still will not load. Still hanging after line 38 in the popups.cfg I guess the SR22 in XP12 wasn't meant to be for me........................................................... Log.txt Quote
gct Posted May 4, 2023 Author Report Posted May 4, 2023 When hung, XP shows suspended in task manager. Any idea what the next step in the load is after the popups.cfg Quote
gct Posted May 4, 2023 Author Report Posted May 4, 2023 Comparing the 1st log when I first install the SR22, and the 2nd restart of XP, it looks like it's hanging at the G1000 popup init. Does that make sense to anyone? Log - initial install of SR22 including dev reload 2023-05-04.txt Log - restart of XP - SR22 hangs same point.txt Quote
Coop Posted May 5, 2023 Report Posted May 5, 2023 Something appears to be conflicting when we spool up a second thread to handle the configuration file asynchronously. I'm guessing that something else on the machine is preventing this from happening. Given that this is an isolated issue, I'd recommend checking: Make sure there isn't some overly active antivirus on your machine killing the process upon writing to disk Temporarily remove all of your 3rd party plugins in Global Plugins (of course, keep Gizmo to activate the aircraft) to see if one of those is causing a conflict. gct Posted May 6, 2023 Author Report Posted May 6, 2023 Thanks for your help on this so far.. I just installed another fresh/vanilla copy of XP, no addons at all. I also disabled my antivirus. Same results. A couple things I noticed 1. When I first install the SR22, on the 1st boot of XP, the plane loads, and prompts for x-aviation credentials, license activates ok, and the plane looks good. 2. I can then go back and forth between planes, and the SR22 loads fine everytime. 3. Issue returns starting with the next boot of XP. 4. I noticed, if I load another plane 1st, then load the SR22, it gets several more lines in the log, before it hangs. Not sure what that shows. I run this on a MSI Z390 motherboard, Intel I9-9900K, with 32GB ram. Wish I had another PC to try, but XP won't run on my laptop. No issues with any other planes. Log.txt Quote
gct Posted May 10, 2023 Author Report Posted May 10, 2023 Since no one else seems to have this issue, and a pure fresh vanilla install of xplane12 also does not work for me, I'll presume this is an issue between my pc configuration or architecture and the sr22 in xplane12. I have no issues with any other plane, and have no issue with this plane and xplane 11. Is there any way to increase the logging level, either in xplane, or the sr22, that would give me more information? I really like this plane in xp11, and would like to fly it in xp12. Thanks for any and all help. Quote
gct Posted May 15, 2023 Author Report Posted May 15, 2023 I have several backups, and was able to load Xplane12.00R3, and 12.05B1. The SR22 loads fine in 12.00R3 The SR22 hangs Xplane in 12.05B1, and all subsequent 12.05 betas and 12.05R1. Attached are 2 new logs 12.00R3 showing successfull SR22 load 12.05B1 showing hang. This has to tell someone something. As before, any/all help appreciated/ Log12-05B1.txt Log 12-00r3.txt Quote
Pils Posted May 15, 2023 Report Posted May 15, 2023 (edited) I think LR have admitted there’s a bug in latest versions of the sim that prevent some addons from loading on some systems (see recent E-Jets release), maybe Coop has more info/can elaborate. Edited May 15, 2023 by Pils Quote
gct Posted May 15, 2023 Author Report Posted May 15, 2023 Thanks. I found the post for the e175. Let's see what Coop has to say, and see what the next XP release does. I don't fly the e-jets, but this SR22 is the only plane I have that has this issue.. Thanks again, appreciate the input. Quote
Coop Posted May 16, 2023 Report Posted May 16, 2023 We can't replicate this on our side, but if you can load a default airplane first, then switch to the SR22, that is a fix that seems to work for some other airplanes that have seen this issue. Quote
gct Posted May 17, 2023 Author Report Posted May 17, 2023 As I mentioned before, loading a default plane 1st, then switching to the SR22, only gains me a few lines in the log file. XP still hangs. When I say hangs, XP shows not responding, CPU=0%, disk usage=0%. Nothing in the windows event logs. I have to go into task manager and kill the XP processes. I'm at a loss, since no one else is reporting this, you cant replicate it, and yet this is the only plane I have this problem with. Same issue on my main XP instance, and a fresh/clean XP install. Only common thread is XP12.05+, and my hardware. Only one that works is pre XP12.05..... At this point the plane is useless to me in XP12. I'll wait and see what the next few(?) updates of XP12 do for the issue. Better or worse, any guesses? Thanks so far for your help.. Quote
gct Posted June 5, 2023 Author Report Posted June 5, 2023 Problem is resolved. I upgraded my PC. Not because of this issue, just because it was time. Gigabyte Z790 Master, I9-13900K, DDR5 ram, new SSDs. Plane loads and flies fine now. I don't know if it was the hardware, or a new install of Windows 10. But I'm flying now...... 2 Quote
