dlrk Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 Is there anything to do in response to FUEL LO TEMP? Or just wait until it warms up?
CaptCrash Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 If on the ground, do not attempt takeoff with the cas message present.
Graeme_77 Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 In flight, Monitor the engine parameters, and be aware that a FUEL FILTER message may be expected. 1
Graeme_77 Posted January 10, 2022 Report Posted January 10, 2022 How cold is the fuel exactly? Study menu > Engines > Fuel System.
jetpipeoverheat Posted January 11, 2022 Report Posted January 11, 2022 You can also descend and increase speed in order to increase TAT and help warm the fuel.
AKSledhead Posted January 12, 2022 Report Posted January 12, 2022 Only things to solve low fuel temp in flight... increase speed, change altitude, and or deviate to a warmer air mass to achieve a TAT equal to or higher than the fuel temperature limit. TAT will increase approximately 0.5 to 0.7°C for each .01 Mach increase in speed. In extreme conditions it may be necessary to descend as low as FL250.
Graeme_77 Posted January 12, 2022 Report Posted January 12, 2022 IIRC the the FUEL LO TEMP CAS message is for the engine fuel filter. As such, you’re dependant on the fuel/oil heat exchangers to bring the temperature up on the fuel feed - it doesn’t need the tank fuel to be warmed, and should clear within a few minutes of engine start. 1
