Over amperage after start up

Twice in a row after the engine starts the battery amps are around 95. How do you lower this? It says in the manual that if it’s over 50 amps you shouldn’t attempt a takeoff but I don’t see where it says how you remedy the issue. Am I doing something wrong in the start up procedure?

I never have anything like that  what so, the approx that I get is around the 48-52 amps. And that is following the whole procedure. The only item that I do not do is to turn the strobes on until I enter the runway which is standard practice that we follow here in Australia

The main generator limit on the ground is 200 amps. The place in the manual where it references 50 amps also says that battery charge over 50 amps is normal after a battery start. The amperage will decrease over time as the battery is charged and you should be able to takeoff with charge <50 amps. If amperage never decreases below 50 amps, that would indicate an issue.

Thanks for the replies. Is there something I may be doing out of order in the start sequence that would lead to over amperage?

How long were you on battery power before getting the generator online?

Check out this video of a TBM930 starting up. Battery amps are up at 145 right after start (about 4:30 in the video) and they come down as the battery charges.

If battery amps are high after engine start it just means that the battery voltage is low and it is being charged by the generator. If charging amps stay >50 for longer periods this is an indication of an old/defective battery which needs to be replaced.
