severniae Posted June 15, 2020 Report Posted June 15, 2020 Hi, I'm wondering what is the base aircraft model for the PR? The real aircraft is a heavily modified Impulse 100 - though even that one doesn't have even close to the performance specifications of the Torquesim modelled version. Is this basically a 'What would Mike Patey do if he owned an Impulse 100' aircraft? As far as I can find, I can't see any real examples of Impulse 100s with PT-6s. Thanks, Quote
lupedelupe Posted June 15, 2020 Report Posted June 15, 2020 I'm also curious about this. The few videos/photos I can find of a turbine Pocket Rocket on the internet suggests the airframe is a LOT smaller than the Torquesim model (at leats judging by pilot size and height of external view). Quote
severniae Posted June 15, 2020 Author Report Posted June 15, 2020 That is what initially promoted my thinking. In size and overall shape it's almost like a cross between a Impulse 100 and a pancake legacy, certainly is the size of the legacy Quote

severniae Posted June 15, 2020 Author Report Posted June 15, 2020 @Coop Haha, thought so! Thanks Out of interest, is it just me or is this model a bit larger than the Impulse 100 too? I guess Mike is fond of adding more and more carbon fibre to his planes! Quote

With the exception of the cowling, I believe the airframe is the same. Quote
Attitude Posted July 27, 2020 Report Posted July 27, 2020 Or the people are too small... We have a major update planned for the Pocket Rocket. 2 1 Quote

Yes, Not sure when it will be live but I'm spending the next few days attacking anything I want to improve on. Hopefully soon. Quote
severniae Posted November 10, 2020 Author Report Posted November 10, 2020 Great to hear - you may have seen my discussion with Coop regarding the pt6a-28's performance - will you be editing the engine to more real world figures? It's great fun at default but somewhat overpowered! I spent some time in plane maker and got it pretty darned close, but you guys do stuff in the background that massage it a little - ITT is a bit on the low side too. Quote
