Throttle Gate not working

The "Y" key does not toggle hide yoke.  Works fine on other aircraft.  Backspace currently assigned to throttle gate.  This key is ignored.  I also tried assigning gate to button also is ignored.  Other button assignments work as they should with this and other aircraft.  The plane is not flyable until gate issue is resolved.  Please help.

Thank you for your response.  In order to taxi at a reasonable speed the throttle must be in the taxi range of the quadrant.  To get to this range there is a gate which must be toggled.  Once into taxi further rearward movement of throttle gets you to reverse. I need to have a key or button which does the unlock.  Trying to do it with the mouse is a disaster.

Just as an aside is it normal to have to hand edit internal files for what seems to be basic functionality?

To toggle taxi speed, you'll need to assign a button or keypress to "Toggle thrust reverse."  This will get you into the area you want to get into.  Disregard the wording.  It will get you into taxi mode AND thrust reverse (if you go down far enough with the mouse or your throttle hardware).

Assuming you're not familiar with this, it can all be done in the section in sim that I have posted below for the "toggle reverse thrust".  Absolutely no need to hand edit anything.  All you need to is add a key assignment on the right, and it's done.

I had already done this with backspace key.  Did it over with Numpad - key no change.  Still can't get throttle past gate.  Trying to lift gate with mouse also doesn't work most of time.  Additionally when I did the startup this time main generator voltage was low .  Stby voltage was ok.  This is only the second payware plane I have purchased.  At this point I have spent a whole day on this and never flown once.  Very disappointing.

The aircraft saves state between sim sessions and keeps track of time between when you last closed it and then loaded it up again. You must have left some things running when you quit the plane last time.

 

Just like a car, if you leave the lights on when you leave it the battery is eventually going to die. Same logic applies here.

Maybe check if you have assigned the correct command. You need to assign "Toggle thrust reversers", but the one without the # behind.

The commands with #1, #2 etc won't work.

Hi,

Unfortunately I have no understanding of the the DataRefs-Commands file syntax.  I see they have DataRefs and Commands.  I don't know  which category the above lines are in.  Seems like DataRefs define something and commands are actions.  What I don't understand is where the relationship of a particular key is to the desired action.   Is this documented somewhere so that newbies can learn?

BTW I have a real Commercial Certificate with Multi-Engine and Instrument rating .. About 500 hours TT with about 100 in Piper Apache with Geronimo conversion.  In x-plane 11 I fly the Baron frequently and have recently flown the C90b a little.  I think the TBM 900 is awesome and unless I go bankrupt repairing or replacing it look forward to hours of enjoyment.

No, you don't need to fiddle around with datarefs. The commands should be listed in the regular xplan key or joystick menu under the TBM section.

If they're not there then we'd have to ask @Goran_M maybe they were simply forgotten to implement. I've never used this particular commands, I just have seen them being listed in the commands text file. (and sorry I can't check right now as I'm not at home with access to my PC)

Nothing in keyboard settings for TBM 900 about yoke which is what @Goran_M told me initially.  I don't know if this was an oversight but it sure makes switch access easier if yoke is not there.  Maybe when they update the quick start doc a few words about thrust reverse and yoke would be helpful.  I guess I could add the lines he he gave me into the file and see what happens.  Only reluctance is this aircraft is pretty unforgiving about mistakes due to persistence and getting back to "Normal" can be challenging..
