UH-60 Blackhawk Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Everything is perfect except I can't start it-yet. Part of that may have to do with the fact that I can't read the labels on some parts. I didn't have the presence of mind to take screenshots, but attached is the log.txt. I am running 9.68, Mac OSX 10.5.8, iMac 27" maybe, something around that size.Log.txt
Cameron Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 This is not very helpful. The log won't tell anything. My assumption is your resolution is simply too little to be effective, but I or others probably really wouldn't know without a screenshot.
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted April 2, 2011 Author Report Posted April 2, 2011 Ok, I did mess around with the rendering options, changed the window size to full-screen, 16 bit (The first option), the first one in Expert Options (Something about textures), and FOV. Screenshot once I have dinner, maybe 40 minutes.
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted April 2, 2011 Author Report Posted April 2, 2011 Ok, the shots. The first is with 1440x900, 32 bit color. The second is non-full screen res. The last is default monitor settings, not sure what they are. The Texture thing I mentioned earlier is "Compress Textures to save VRAM."
Cameron Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 That looks like it's coming down to your resolution. You'd have to change the part that says "very high," etc. Your graphics card may not be able to handle it, and as such your legibility on the panel is compromised.
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted April 2, 2011 Author Report Posted April 2, 2011 Actually, the texture resolution is on normal (You mean the one that says next to it changes take effect on re-start right?)
Cameron Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 Actually, the texture resolution is on normal (You mean the one that says next to it changes take effect on re-start right?)Yep...That's where your problem lies. Not much you can do about this but change it to a high setting.
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted April 2, 2011 Author Report Posted April 2, 2011 Thanks, bumped it up one setting and the textures got a little better. I'll just do it again and should be able to read it now. Thanks again for your help.
arno54 Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Resolution has to be at least "very high".As the plane is VERY fps-friendly, this should not be an issue (I can do it on my netbook with 64mo shared vram...)
Kaphias Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 If you need more fps, you can load up X-Plane in a lower resolution, switch to a higher, open the plane, then turn it back down.
FlorianR Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 resolution changes only takes place after re-starting x-plane.
UH-60 Blackhawk Posted April 4, 2011 Author Report Posted April 4, 2011 Yes, I would use that if that would work.
