Vinny003 Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Hi, guys!I've been having some problems with the brakes on the Saab. What happened is after I land, go to reverse thrust to come to a complete stop, I apply the parking brakes, the parking brakes works, but when I get out of reverse thrust, the airplane starts moving even with the parking brakes on. Anyone have this issue? Thanks! Cheers, Vincent Quote
JGregory Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 How are you applying the brakes? Quote
Vinny003 Posted December 3, 2013 Author Report Posted December 3, 2013 Hi, JGregory!I usually use the parking brakes to slow the airplane down when on the ground but I don't what keys to press to apply the brakes to slow the airplane down when on the ground. I know the b key toggles parking brakes. Thanks! Cheers, Vincent Quote
JGregory Posted December 3, 2013 Report Posted December 3, 2013 Nobody has reported any problems with the brakes. FYI... ( is for brakes... (V) is for parking brake. Quote
Vinny003 Posted December 3, 2013 Author Report Posted December 3, 2013 Hi, JGregory! That's strange. I must be the one who having problems with the brakes. Thanks! Cheers, Vincent Quote
Vinny003 Posted December 5, 2013 Author Report Posted December 5, 2013 Hi, JGregory!I still have a brake problem even when using the park brake. When I move the condition levers from the start detent to the unfeather detent with the park brake on, the Saab 340A still moves even with the park brake on. Very strange. Cheers, Vincent Quote

There must be something else going on here but you have not given us enough details. Screenshots or videos would be very helpful. Quote
Vinny003 Posted December 5, 2013 Author Report Posted December 5, 2013 Hi, JGregory! If run into the brake problem again, I'll give you the video of what is happening. Cheers, Vincent Quote
chaps Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 I have exactly the same problem several times with version 1.1. I don't remember it happening with the original version. The brakes ( regular and maximum effort ) work fine prior to takeoff but after landing and using reverse thrust I have neither regular or maximum effort brakes. The lever on the left panel is extending and retracting when applied, so it is not a switch problem on my joystick. When at maximum the parking brake indicator on the annunciator panel comes on. The hydraulic pressure is between 180-200. The runway is clean and dry so it is not sliding on ice.I will try to take another flight tonight but not use reverse thrust after landing to see if that has an effect on it. The only way to stop is use reverse thrust again. as soon as you put the throttle back to ground idle and the props change pitch it starts rolling again even with the parking break applied.Hopefully, someone has a solution Quote
JGregory Posted February 13, 2014 Report Posted February 13, 2014 I will try to take another flight tonight but not use reverse thrust after landing to see if that has an effect on it. I will wait for your test results. The hydraulic pressure is between 180-200.Where are you reading this pressure? Quote
chaps Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hi againI did another flight and did not use reverse thrust on landing and could not stop at the end of the runway. I was slowed to around 40 Knots but the brakes did nothing. I did notice that during the flight if I pressed the brake or handbrake that the handbrake lever did not move. But when I landed it did move when brakes were applied but did not work. The gauge that I was reading the Hyd pressure from is on the centre console above the throttle labeled HYD. QTY Cu.In. I just noticed the other two below that one, but I have to go and am shut down now. When I am back I will do another flight and check the other two gauges. Hope this helpsThanks Quote
JGregory Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) OK guys, here's the story. What you are seeing is a bug in the anti-skid system. I have fixed this. I will post a Hotfix here shortly… in the meantime you can workaround this by not using the anti-skid system (keep the toggle in the off position). Edited February 14, 2014 by JGregory Quote
arb65912 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Jim, I am not at home now but i also noticed a bit unusual brake behavior in version 1.1I will make a video when I get back home if it is still needed.Cheers, AJ ;-) Quote
JGregory Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 (edited) You can get the HotFix here. Edited February 15, 2014 by JGregory Quote
Vinny003 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hi, guys!I have the same brake problem like what you guys have! I've been landing with the anti-skid on. When I land next time, I'll land with the anti-skid switch off to see if that fixes my brake problem! Cheers, Vincent Quote
arb65912 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Thank you Jim. Great , fast response. Cheers, AJ ;-) Quote

sichars1968 Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 Hi Jim I have done this hot-fix on the passenger variant, is that now applied to the other two variants, or do I have to do the fix to each individual variant? Excellent customer support as always from LES/X-Aviation. Quote
Cameron Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 You'll need to apply it to each variant. Quote
chaps Posted February 14, 2014 Report Posted February 14, 2014 The "fix" works great. Good you asked about each variant. I didn't think about it until I read your post. Thanks Quote
arb65912 Posted February 15, 2014 Report Posted February 15, 2014 Same here, hot fix worked great. Thank you again Jim. Outstanding job. Cheers, AJ Quote
