  1. I would expect some performance increase because with RWC it shouldn't be necessary to redraw clouds all the time. I've been using SMP 3 with NOAA plugin and, besides the fact that distant weather systems aren't rendered, there's an annoying frequent cloud redraw that momentarily freezes x-plane; I would expect the new combination of RWC and SMP 3.1 to avoid this.
  2. Hi, I'm really excited with this. I asked Frank numerous times to develop something of this sort and I am very glad that he finally succeeded. Congratulations, Frank, and thank you. José
  3. Hi, This seems lokie an incomplete package.
  4. I believe you've been answered on the othe forum.
  5. See this loooong thread: http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=90469&page=1. The download address is in the author's signature.
  6. Hi, Being a Mac user I don't have as many choices as Windows users, but I usually choose NOAA weather; it has it's own drawbacks and some people may not like it, but there just isn't a good weather engine, for Macs, anyway.
  7. I would add that other apps running concurrently may also use VRAM, thus reducing the amount available. Just my 2 cents.
  8. Hi, You need to turn on "Runways follow terrain contours". This happens because the airport altitude isn't right in your scenery package; turning on "Runways follow terrain contours" ignores the airport altitude set by the scenery package.
  9. Hi Colin, I've met this problem more than once and I don't think there is any solution apart for redoing the mesh. One such instance is LPCO, in my country, which is misplaced by default and and becomes unusable when correctly placed, unless one unselects runways follow terrain contours. Jose
  10. If you mean photoscenery that does not show that sort of discrepancies, it exists for some parts of the world and it is very expensive. Please note that there is no point in using HD mesh for areas that you have covered with photoscenery, because the latter includes its own mesh. For instance, your Insbruck photoscenery will disable HD mesh for that area.
  11. You are doing nothing wrong. Photoscenery has a problem of inconsitency among adjoinig photos; the photos may have been taken at different times, with different lighting conditions, sometimes they have clouds... there's nothing you can do about it.
  12. I concur that adding other planes' noises would add realism. Even if you don't fly on line, the noise from AI aircraft could be added.
  13. Hi, Do I understand correctly that SMP 3 will have localized clouds? That would be great news. José
  14. Hi, Do the minimum and maximum cloud size affect frame rate? I have tried different settings and my frame rate seems immune to them. José
  15. Hi, Export apt.dat may be useful if you are simultaneously working with Overlay Editor.
  16. Hi, If x-plane presented you with this would you believe it was plausible? It happened in Johanesburgh. José EDIT: Obviously, I think this is a long exposure photo, but nevertheless...
  17. Hi, I believe the inverter switch was removed in an update sometime ago and the manual was not updated in conformance. José
  18. I have to try it, since it corrects Yosemite specific issues.
  19. Hi, Glad to hear that. I am out of VRAM sometimes and every little bit helps. José
  20. Hi, You must set your overcast quality to Med or High. José
  21. Hi, I stand corrected. I thought it was textures.
  22. Hi, Your custom scenery list suggests problems; surely, SkyMaxx Pro, urbanmaxx and UrbanMaxx Extreme are not scenery but I suspect part 1, 2, ... may not be scenery as well; the remaining packages may be scenery but, given the previous examples, I think they may all need to be inspected. But there's worse. Some items in your custom scenery are actually plugins and this suggests there may be serious problems with your plugins, as well. SkyMaxx Pro, for one, comes with an installer and it should have ended up in it's right location; the installer should have done that; in short, I think your whole installation needs a complete overhaul. I see you are ready to pay for that job but sincerely I don't know anybody who would be ready to do that; I guess you would have better luck going for a completely new installation with step by step instructions that you could probably get for free. José
  23. Hi Frank, His log has these lines: I found the following scenery packages (prioritized in this order): 0 Custom Scenery/SkyMaxx Pro 2.0/ 1 Custom Scenery/KSYR/ 2 Custom Scenery/KLIT/ 3 Custom Scenery/klit_xp10/ 4 Custom Scenery/MKJS_Sangster International Airport/ 5 Custom Scenery/CYQB - Quebec International/ 6 Custom Scenery/CYUL - Montreal/ 7 Custom Scenery/CYWG - Winnipeg International/ 8 Custom Scenery/CYYZ Toronto Pearson Intl (ISDG)/ 9 Custom Scenery/KDSM.v8/ 10 Custom Scenery/Urban_Maxx_Extreme_V2_3D/ The first priority in custom scenery is SkyMaxx Pro, which isn't a scenery package at all. This syggests there may be serious problems in his installation, both with sceneries and plugins, and I think it needs a thorough revision. José
