It looks like it could be the geometric shadow bug that has popped up in Beta 5 when in HDR mode Its funny you are the first to mention it Here but theres lots of talk about it at the org . If you are using HDR mode try turning it off.

I would personaly go for the Graphics card upgrade first as your video card is getting old and as you are planning on upgrading to the GTX 670 with a new system anyways . And if you dont find it satisfactory you can then upgrade the proccessor and motherboard . If the video card only upgrade works out and That card will definatly blow your 260 away than you have saved yourself the price of the motherboard processor and probably new ram if you are currently running DDR2 As far as a powersupply both cards Draw about the same around 170 watts max . so your current powersupply should handle it Larry

Xplane10 should work just fine. I have done this with other software and it usually works just fine I have also done this with FS9 and all that happens is that it reverts back to default settings FSX is another story though and I have found that you will usually have to reinstall . I would recomend that you create a folder called Program Files (x86) on the partition and move the Xplane10 folder into it this way Windows 7 64 identifies it as a 32 bit program .

I have been using the AMD desktop utility http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/fusion-for-desktops/Pages/overview.aspx for a few years and wondering if anyone else is using it. I do not use any of the overclocking features but do notice that when set to gaming mode I do gain 4 to 5 FPS . Im not to sure if this will work with an Intel system but as it mainly shuts down unneeded services I dont see why not .There are other similar utilities I have tried but Fusion desktop utility seems to restart the stopped processes better . A couple of others are Game Booster by IObit http://www.iobit.com/gamebooster.html and AlacrityPC by Ken Salter http://alacritypc.kensalter.com/download.html wich was originaly FSautostart designed for use with MS Flightsimulator. Does anyone know of any others Larry

Just how far north does this extend I tried it around the Bellingham area thought it would ad a little interest when flying just below the Canada US border in washington state but i dont see anything different?
