  1. yep, would love a day shot - but in the CRJ, over that night lighting, why bother with daytime?!
  2. yeah, that approach shot, it looked real at first. That Shuttle looks nicely worn, well done (can I say?....)
  3. Looking good! http://www.x-plane.com/v10-pix/2.jpg http://www.x-plane.com/v10-pix/3.jpg http://www.x-plane.com/v10-pix/1.png
  4. I use a Saitek too, X52 pro, bloody good and before then I could barely control helos and now can handle them fairly well (read able to land not those tiny dangerous oilrig pads), not as perfectly as the geniuses who hang around C74 though! rudder pedals are best, but no room under my desk. drifting is very easy compared to car games, not too many corners on runways. for my best sideways effort, go to my YouTube channel and find one of my earliest ones- I turn a 747 into a VTOL, with 200kt winds. just a slight rotate gives you vto, full thrust to hop across the airfield and then back down again.
  5. haha, I love Zazzle, funny stuff. I had to think quickly before i got it..
  6. LOL! and true to life 3d augmented reality, just like ur really there.
  7. what didn't I fly today?! I flew nufink, struggling with getting more confident with sketchup, applying textures is fiddly as hell. making up some funny signs as practice. I don't know how u pros do it!
  8. Md beautiful. is that the new nils normal map upgrade? can't wait to get it
  9. wow Lis, u do follow the rule book. I was, as usual, taking advantage of the sim to do extreme things regardless of 'reality'. ;Dwith the extreme effects of xp turb and windshear, I'd assume in reality those wings would have shorn off and all passengers would be smeared nicely within interior. note the last scene. I landed with plenty of runway left, but despite full reversers and brakes, but that wind just kept pushing me' down the runway. if u want help with vids just ask!
  10. Lis is correct, the approach is far more southern, with a fun ils glide towards the famous pink sign then a good bank to right. this brought back memories to my crazier video days, so here it is, once I learnt the ILS instrument flying I got cocky in the x737. Still heart thumping in zero visibility (lis if u want a visceral experience, do this in bad weather, really tests your instrument awareness and that sick feeling of 'which way is up' and do these instruments work) Later footage is in xplane ridiculous turb settings, barely 'flyable'. and even when on ground, u can't seem to stop!
  11. I may ask Mr Google if fair use policy applies. but maybe VERY senior Xplane people could confirm too. If you go around selling the stuff you'd be in trouble
  12. Ah, but pm did u see the video? auto-texturing... yes sketchup is too much fun, the texturing is the hard bit, that's why this variant is exciting, well for me!
  13. First person to build a city in Xplane wins: http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/08/12/scenery-revolution/ Google Building Maker
  14. thanks Ben! you Da Man, +1 and hey everybody, how dare this Karma be so low, get it up to 50 pronto.. I have to admit getting into scenery design is a definite challenge, please tell us xp10 will be so much easier?! it's fun though..
  15. congrats Goran and Theo, looks great and the exterior shape looks really nice. can't wait to try some single engine failures on this one.
  16. great, good to know! that obj8 spec is pretty handy
  17. Cal u sound more advanced than me, but I wonder if LOD might still be causing issues, just saw this statement in the Obj8 specification 'If you do not specify any LODs, the entire model is treated as a single LOD, whose range is calculated automatically by X-Plane'- so maybe specifying one might improve. can't wait to hear the true answer if this doesn't work. also saw this, sounds promising: When the ATTR_layer_group is included somewhere in an object (it need only be used once, even if you have multiple LODs) then the object is drawn in a different layer group. The offset is used to prioritize further--for example. the group + 1 is drawn after the group, and the group - 2 is drawn two layers before objects. You can use an offset from -5 to + 5. Simon
  18. incredible? I tried the demo at 16 and it was awful, ESP at 2000. big coverage but. hurry up Realscenery and any other projects..
  19. @xpafrica, I have pm'd Torsten but no reply yet re getting scenery builder. as a scenery noob, hear hear for more scenery development and hopefully easier tools. WED I find a bitch compared to overlay editor, so touchy. I've discovered google sketchup, if u didn't have to use the texture workarounds our world would be filled with beautiful airports! I'll be doing my best to help..
  20. all hail the night lighting King! just awesome Javier. love that emergency ldg lever shot.
  21. I love xpfr's stuff. not much else, that's one reason I'm learning to do my own, to contribute to opensceneryx as that's so easy to use. The R2 library is great as well. my kmpi is looking busier now, I know not accurate but so much better to fly around. When I can texture Chip's terminal, that'll be almost payware qual! I guess the 'relative' ease of converting msfs scenery using fs2xpl prevents major development? http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/08/07/scenery-adventure-2-update-with-first-shed/
  22. ooh yeah, cool vid, exciting and realistic camerawork!
  23. thanks Kes. tell us how u go performance with your new Mac. what model? will u be running xplane under windows 7 or Mac? what's it like having a sensible UI?
  24. Ben Supnik has just posted this rare bugtest request for owners of the above config. I myself enjoy my i7 920 but fortunately use Nvidia and am still on 9.55 - as I've heard 9.6 needs to be corrected so iPad remote can work again. http://xplanescenery.blogspot.com/2010/08/older-build-for-regression-testing.html
  25. thanks Ola, I can't view vimeo on my iPhone (running linux ;D ) so I'll watch on weekend, after I've attempted to texture my box and export into xplane. I now have big respect for guys like Theo too - the fun bit is building, the nasty hard yakka bit is the texturing and alignment, me thinks.
