  1. Antonov-148 Updated But first important news – Chip has got the go-ahead for pushback out of hospital and hopes to be back on-line with an interview with the An-148 team by Monday-ish, so things will get busier again with the blog – but only gradually, we’re both recovering. Now the most important news, who cares about our [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=xplane10.wordpress.com&blog=13719699&post=1226&subd=xplane10&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /> http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/10/22/antonov-148-updated/
  2. De Havilland Comet preview videos Stumbled on this while surfing our Hungarian colleagues’ excellent site. Check it out, looks very deep and procedural, So many switches to be actuated! http://www.x-plane.hu/cms/dhc4c-comet-videok<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=xplane10.wordpress.com&blog=13719699&post=1238&subd=xplane10&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /> http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/10/22/de-havilland-comet-preview-videos/
  3. Great news Ola, what a pain. Yes, it does stutter when you are close or (I think) when you disturb the airflow. And it doesn't seem consistent, sometimes its real smooth, othertimes not...
  4. Cork, EICK Scenery Reviewed Just released at the .org, by genius scenery designer Cormac, of XPIH (Xplane Irish Hub), this scenery is incredibly detailed, wonderful, and I must say, puts payware to shame! The main terminal. My god, so intricate, with escalators and huge architectural detail. Mr Chip, with his Sketchup prowess, has just met his match me thinks! [...]<img alt="" border="0" src="http://stats.wordpress.com/b.gif?host=xplane10.wordpress.com&blog=13719699&post=1214&subd=xplane10&ref=&feed=1" width="1" height="1" /> http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/10/21/cork-eick-scenery-reviewed/
  5. This scenery is just massive, detailed, incredible. It'd take me a week just to do the carpark. No wonder it's so hard to make $'s for scenery, with freeware like this http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/10/21/cork-eick-scenery-reviewed/
  6. Thankyou Steve for the stunning Duchess livery! No chance of mid air collision in this one, the blue certainly is distinctive. Love it! Around KMMH
  7. Good news, all this talk about old computers got me back onto the iTunes store to search for the elusive Commodore emulators and I found this! http://c64.manomio.com/ So for a few dollars u get a portable high fidelity emulator of low fidelity gaming, and some free games to boot. They're working on the Amiga emulator. The gameplay was so good- since the graphics and sound was soooo bad, but only due to the limited hardware of the time. 0.985 MHz, sheesh!
  8. So, anyone thinking of paying $15 for Khamsin's carrier, like I did- if u can be patient, wait for xp10, it's default! http://x-plane.com/pg_news.html

    A great laugh!

That was so funny it hurt to laugh! I knew Abacus had a bad rep, but now... Was expecting some sort of funny X-plane line. Hmm, someone needs to do an obscure X-plane version, I'd imagine some funny plug-in lines or Blender references! The 'Downfall' clips are all very funny (as compared to the real movie, brilliant but so depressing), this was the first one I saw, about Steve Jobs, it made me laugh..
  10. Beautiful, isn't it. It's from the soundtrack to "how to train your dragon", if u haven't seen it, hire it- it has amazing animation, flying scenes, music and...scenery! I saw it twice in 3d
  11. Thanks Indi, means a lot coming from you. But I wish I could program 1/1000th as well as you
  12. Thanks guys. Greg has already replied to the YouTube page, noticing the same. His plugin controls what is displayed, and some of my external camera shots caused the strange look. Hooks and ram air deployed...in fact worse, at one point the canopy appeared half way down the fuse and the pilot 3 feet to left of the plane, as well as a 2ft square hole where the ram air was! But that was only me using the free camera, it looks fine at other times. Greg told me he'll look into the camera issues for the future. This was my very first flight, do I flew it by the seat of my pants, very little instrument use, mainly the basic 6 of course. I think I broke the horizon during the aerobatics!
  13. Thanks Kes, I enjoyed making that one.
  14. beautiful job emin, you can teach us on some of those techniques! Curves adjustment layer, what's that?
  15. Thanks to Arty, who's a sound specialist, for convincing me to try the CF104, it's amazing, as you'll see: He's also contributed to some great Blog content regarding new sound developments that might be seen in Xplane 10, read here. All devs take note, sound is very important, and will become more important as standards go up: http://xplane10.wordpress.com/2010/10/17/new-developments-in-sound-for-xplane-cf104-video/
  16. ha, leme guess which one? That amazing blue highlighted one? Sorry, thats my exclusive now! Love it. You can have Steve do u this one, so imaginative... http://www.airliners.net/photo/268727/M/
  17. OMG Steve, they look fantastic! Thanks and well done. I didn't really need 5, I only own 4 Duchesses and one of them is in for it's annual :-)
  18. well done Lis! Looks pretty perfect, as I'd expect from u. Hope to join u guys soon
  19. Although installation /registration of the CF104 was a pain (must be spoilt by xaviation), I had excellent personal support from Greg H. It has a bit of a fps hit but bearable for me. Exhilarating to fly and easier to land than I thought. Immersive sound. Video filmed, just gotta get round to editing. Funny, in the airspeed indicator, where I'm used to seeing 100kt I see 400!
  20. No probs, I'll probably do a video review for everyone. Arti recommended it for its sounds, enough for me to finally decide to get it. Indi's right, it barely has wings, sort of a rocket with stabilizers, so I'll be rating my first landings by the size of craters I leave. Any craft that needs a parachute on landing, you gotta be wary of!
  21. Well I can't fly it yet, until Greg Hofer sends me the keys (hurry please Daddy) Looks nice from the outside. Fantastic documentation: http://www.classicjetsims.com/CF-104/CF-104StartupGuide.html and dealing with these stats: Max speed 1550 mph (Mach 2.35) at 40,000 feet, 915 mph (Mach 1.2) at sea level. Climb to 30,000 feet in 1.5 minutes. Hurry up Xaviation, give us a small fast bird (other than the Javelin, which of course I love). Even on the ground, a menacing, clean look.
  22. And I find setting the QuickTime settings to 720 works perfect. But what's with YouTube lately, I'm sure it is now processing vids at a quarter of the speed it used to...
  23. Thanks! My head just doubled in size :-) I think I was Max's first subscriber, before he had a vid. Just enjoy it for now, dot takei it too serious. Practise makes perfect, so that means post lots of vids!
  24. Good nostalgic links there Jason! I now remember getting the Sublogic Flight Simulator II, the packaging and documentation was so slick back then. Meigs Field and chicago looked so awesome in vector graphics, at 5fps
  25. Ha don't get the veterans started! I dimly remember my Commodore 64 that taught me BASIC programming, looking it up in wiki is scary, only 0.985mhz and 64KILO bytes of memory. Then I upgraded to the Commodore Amiga 500, I virtually bought it for this F18 game! It was expensive back then (1986 or so), about $600 then, had to delay my first car purchase. And we will be laughing at how crude XP10 is in a few yrs!
