  1. Dang, just heard that Virgin Blue is renamed 'Virgin Australia' in the chase for corporate business. Their bright, distinctive, mostly red livery to be erased, for this boring look: http://twitpic.com/4t0kuy
  2. It's always said 3. Confused me too, until you read the small print below the manuals 'Pilot Handbook only available with purchase'.
  3. Great! Glad to hear, Simon! Yeah, a relief. Just posted a nice overview at the Blog. You guys are really approaching this the right way, well done.
  4. All OK now Cameron, Javier and Philipp! Thanks! I followed Cam's instructions and all was fine, so must have been that restore. I was getting 107fps around LESA, so i'll take half of that thankyou very much. Finally, some tech that takes advantage of multicores. (I can't help thinking of Leeloo saying 'multipass' whenever I say multicores).
  5. Yeah welcome Rich and good luck! Cameron is right (as always), get used to v9 as the interface is very different, but easy once u get your head around it. You can configure your keymapping to msfs style if u want. It's no comparison, but the x737 by EADT is very good for freeware and there are plenty of complex planes out there to practice SIDS and STARS, now. you'll find the flight model SLIGHTLY different too ;D
  6. Great to hear from you, sounds excellent, especially if it has your experienced input. Funny, I had that same sublogic c64 sim. Talk about a slideshow! That started at Meigs Field too didn't it? When will your plane be released? This yr? Will it be compatible with xplane 8? Only joking, in house joke here!! It'll be out when it's out..
  7. Thanks Perry and others, it's like a death in the family eh! Not really... Good to iron things out before the real deal- imagine my disappointment on release! A good test then. My pc is not bad, almost 2yrs old and seems ok for xplane @ mostly max settings and A-10c @ close to max. My first gen i7 is not as quick as Ola's new brand i5, good to see progress finally. GPUs seem to have leveled out though - my gtx 275 was 100 times faster than the one I replaced from 5 yrs earlier. Now, the newer cards are only twice it's speed, so I can wait longer still. The GTX590 looks amazing, quadruple my speed, so when it's $250 or so I'll jump at it. Just superb power available nowadays for half the price of a console.
  8. Definitely Philipp. Thanks for helping to finish the CRJ off!
  9. Thanks Javier, hopefully it's straightforward. If I need to regress to an older nvidia driver, do you know of any sites that hold the older drivers? I can't see any myself, at least not obvious to me. Can't wait to try it in the morning! As excited as if it was the real deal, pathetic...
  10. How is that so? Don't you have a relatively modern i7 setup, Simon? Thanks for the other reply, yeah I thought my setup should be ok. I have a very itchy upgrade finger, but not that itchy! I'm sure it'll be fixed in my morning when I follow your steps
  11. Thanks Cam, I'm away from pc so will redo in 12 or so hrs. My thoughts precisely, I thought I should be able to run it! Do you ever sleep? Isnt it about 2am where u are?
  12. And it asked me to restore the c++ settings
  13. Ah, the irony, doesn't work for me. There's vacuum of black in the centre of my screen, no pleasing words, although I can take off and fly around I don't know what you need to assist in tweaking my setup, here's a basic summary of my system. Help appreciated. Operating System MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1 CPU Intel Core i7 920 @ 2.67GHz 41 °C Bloomfield 45nm Technology RAM 6.0GB Triple-Channel DDR3 @ 532MHz (7-7-7-20) Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. 14. Ola, I think you can just unclick the beta option in the Xplane installer and it reverts to 9.62 At least you can run the CRJ, I've just found out that I can't ???? >
  15. Ah, I notice Ola is on 9.69 xplane, so maybe that is it, since I have no issues with the same card. More reason for me not to upgrade past 9.62 that works perfect for me. I need the latest gpu driver for other software. It's a great gpu too, I see no point in upgrading until the 590 becomes mainstream in less than a yr, 4 times the frames!
  16. Yeah, very strange. I've got the exact same gpu, no probs yet.. But haven't you recently done a big upgrade of CPU/ mobo? This is way over my head, you've done all the right things it sounds. I'd log a bug report or contact Ben S who is very helpful.
  17. And to quote my kid - 'please daddy, can I have one, please, I need it!' xplane version at least ;D
  18. That GP5 is gorgeous, and that sound! It's like the Falco on a steroid and Viagra cocktail! Good recovery too, just.
  19. And by asking when it's out, i assume we've all memorized the manuals? The manual is disappointing, not as much humor as the tutorial! Except for this gem, sounds dirty to me: 'Fist design studies began on 1987' And I love the CRJ filling up at the petrol station! Fill her up mate...
  20. Erm..yep Nicola! Amazing.
  21. Great idea! Here's one I prepared earlier, in my crazy experimentation days. Not a perfect landing, but u try it with 200kts and a dodgy joystick!
  22. Good, and funny reply Kamil!
  23. Yeah Ben, it seems reasonable. Well any time is ok for these being the last 2 missions of the shuttle. I watched the first few live for hrs I remember, so we should farewell them honorably. More interesting than the Tubes that will replace it, at least in the short term.
  24. Cool, thanks! Stuff him, Some of those look good for me!
  25. Saw this and just had to share. My kid is already too tall for one, good as they are $600 here!
