3D Shots and Renders - showoff what you have been working on.
Flying_pig replied to Kieran's topic in 3D Shop
Here are some tips to help improve renders A. Ambient Occlusion B. Increase the amount of passes for shadows (found in the lights settings) or just use cycles -
I agree with that but when i modeled it i did not know how to change the amount of vertices on a cylinder and also the engines also used to be like that but when i remodeled them and gave them more detail i also reduced the poly count by about 40,000 Take a look at page 2 of this thread actually compared to the reference photos i was using this thing is pretty undetailed. they can be found on page 5 of the thread i think. thx but do to it going open source chances are i will not be doing much work on it anymore.
-
So I decided make the project open source. You can find source at the bottom of this post. Here are some fun facts about the project The final polygon count was 1,255,570 There are over 100 different materials used on the B29 Here is the legal stuff Due to copyright regions textures used for renders are not in the source you can find them HERE This work by Flying_pig is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License. I think he was reffering to P-factor or how much the aircraft wants to turn to the right as you increase throttle.
-
Here is a nice render i got today when I was playing around in blender And here is another render showing how i got the lighting to look the way that it does also I should probably mention that there is a VERY good chance that this project will be becoming open source soon do to the fact that currently I barely put in 3 hours of work in a month on the B-29 and at this rate it will never be finished.

Need Advice On This Computer For X-Plane
Flying_pig replied to jakubikb's topic in General Discussion
If you have never built a computer before and don't know how to build i would recommend getting THIS but if you can build a pc or want to learn i would get THIS both of these systems should be able to run X-plane 10 and near max settings well running at 5760x1080 (trust me i've done that on less powerful systems then both of these) -
yes I did and I really have no idea if you should make one for you renders I was just bored one day and made the interior.
-
actually he had already given it a few days according to the time stamp made by bandicam when the screenshot was taken he had already owned the aircraft for four days.Unrelated but am i the only here who finds it strange that there are options to log out, sign in, recover a lost password and, create a account at the top of the screen?
-
that's actually really easy to achieve just use a mix shader of 0.5 and have a the two BSDF's be a gloss shader with a roughness of 0.01 and a diffuse shader.

Completely remodeled the Engines today And here's one of the entire plane with the new engines

So I was deleting stuff in my spam folder today and found an email from the .org talking about a contest where the top prize was being able to choose a new feature to be added to X-plane in a future patch More details here http://forums.x-plane.org/index.php?showtopic=68794

actually there is a fully functioning Freeware version already released that you can get HERE and here's a picture of the freeware version
-
Out of curiosity is there any signifigance to the 4 orange paint spalshes on the bottom right corner of your first 6 photos? Also if there is why do they slowly fade away as you go down the page?
-
Today I made, something, don't know what this is but it's in the real B29 so I modeled it.
-
Where can one get this scenery?
-
Ok basicly you should first off you should know that i know almost nothing about coding (the most complex command i know is [a_href=insert url there]) and do not even know if this is possible but i thinkit would be cool if somebody could make a plugin for the aircraft that i am working in. So that if somebody shoots at the aircraft in x-plane it isn't instantly one shot killed when hit but instead takes damage incrimentaly in a similar fashion to games like war thunder and world of warplanes. I know there are already datarefs for when a part of a aircraft takes damage so that might make it a bit easier. Also if it is possible to even make the plugin, well then i think i can say that the b-29 probably is going to be one of the most advanced freeware prop aircraft ever made for xp at this rate.

thankfully everts airways sort of beat you to the punch on the manuals they have one of their c-46 manuals available online so i'm going to be using that the only problem with this is that the interior of a Buffalo airways c-46 and a evert airway c-46 are distinctly different so i either have to make two VC's or just focus on evert airways meaning i can't ask buffalo for reference photos

managed to do the overhead panel since found a picture with high enough resolution to zoom in on it
-
Added some of the cords and vents as well as reduced the size of the engineers station and added a few more miscellaneous things and here's a really nice looking external render i managed to get and just for the lolz here's one of the first shots ever of the b-29 for comparison
-
Yes it is still being worked on.

took a break from the B-29 and decided to do some more citation parts And here's the source file Citation_GR_WHL_NS.zip -
I somehow manage to fly helis with a flight yoke and do farely well then again i don't find mouse aim much of a challenge either and as far as track ir goes i've gotten so used to moving my view with the hat switch on my yoke that when i do surround visuals with all of my pc's i still find myself using the hat switch to look around so i actually still have a very good idea of what's going on
-
Did a little more work on the radio operators station today Here's a image showing everything and here are some close ups of whats new
