  1. Ok, we don't support that yet as you know, but haven't heard of that problem before. Maybe you altered something in planemaker by accident? Also check that you throttle hardware axis is calibrated full length in the settings.

  4. XP10 or 11?
  5. Everyone need to understand that the AIRCRAFT FILE is VERY sacret from XP version to XP version! You do NOT want to fiddle with XP 10 planemaker to fix XP11 aircraft issues or vice versa. This *might/will* cause other issues in both the XP10 and XP11 aircraft. And ESPECIALLY while Austin is still working on the XP 11 flightmodel. For all we know, all of a sudden the APU will work again in XP11. And this goes for just about every flightmodel issue. So, the best thing for everyone is a XP11 update, saved in XP11 planemaker - WHEN Austin (for the most part) is done tinkering with it. Trust me on this, I have 19 years of X-Plane development experience.

  11. The main holdup right now is we are waiting for a Gizmo update from X-Aviation, and as you know this development is out of our control! The main developer of Gizmo was struck by a big flood in Australia recently and still is more or less without internet/power as he lives in a very remote area down there. So basically "Force Majeure".... v 1.1 is more or less ready to go from our side and has been for a while. So once XA gets the new Gizmo version up and running things should move pretty fast. We are as impatient as all of you are, but there is not a lot we can do atm but wait. I also would like to remind everyone that unlike many other teams, we are updating from XP 10 to XP11 for FREE! How many big FSX developers have given free updates when moving to P3D (which is comparable from a developer point of view)? Not many - I think....? M
  12. Actually we do use the DEFAULT landing lights. Anyway, whatever it is, it will get fixed unless it fixes itself in the meantime... As for the landing light beam, some seem not to understand that that is what they are * LANDING* lights! They are canted 6,5 deg DOWN, so they will not give a lot of illumination forward when level on the ground. Reason is that on approach you'll normally have a 2-3 deg up pitch attitude, pluss being on a 3 deg negative glideslope, this is why they are canted down. M

  14. Yes, this is normal behavior for most airliners (low wing and tail) The technical explanation is; During initial rotation, the elevator/stabilizer will move closer to ground (tail going down). Here there is very turbulent air from the wing downwash. This means that the elevator no longer will be as efficient and you need to apply more elevator to continue rotation A few feet after liftoff, the wing will leave Chord Dominated Ground effect, lift will decrease slightly, and the nose might have a tendency to drop unless you continue to increase AoA. The initial inquiries into XP11 are GOOD news Our CFM56-3 engine model has survived Austins major engine rewrite in XP11 The new drag model has not messed up a lot and we are now back in the ballpark We have a fix in for the ground model So, basically, what we need to do now on the FM side is more extensive testing and fine-tuning and check other non-announced areas for changes. Unless Austin makes more changes that will set us back, things are looking good in terms of progress M

  17. Just to give you an idea... About the drag issue, this is an old X-Plane flight model error that we at IXEG discovered and reported way back in september 2010 Basically XP has it's fuselage (body) INDUCED drag wrong (very complicated stuff). We off course fixed it ourself for our 737 XP10 aircraft (which likely is the only one that has this right for XP10 btw). So, now that Austin finally (maybe) fixed it for XP11, the result is our aircraft is off on drag. You can (maybe) imagine how much effort, testing, analyzing and documentation it took us to discover and isolate this error and get it right. So now we need to double-check Austins fix and see if he got it right and possibly tune it back in where it's off. Kind of ironic
  18. Not sure but I suspect the aircraft you mention all use the default ground model. We use a modified one for more realistic performance (XP10) which will need updating. I think we put in a temporary fix for this in v.1.1 M
  19. Exactly, XP is a continuous work in progress, and especially around new releases. Developers have to adapt to that and do the same. If things drag out in time I'm sure we'll release at temporary patch to make life easier for the XP11 guy's. Anyway, remember that all the 132 (!) bugs we fixed, new 3D, systems upgrades etc stuff for v 1.1 XP10 so far ALSO (hopefully) will work in XP11 the same day.

This is all wrong - we have had ZERO months to work on the flight model for XP11 because Austin is STILL doing work on it (we are in close contact with him) and and we expect to reveal more bugs which has to go back to Austins table and get fixed in XP11.xx before we can complete any FM work. XP11 is a moving target. Our flight model is extremely accurate - possibly the most accurate ever - it took us thousands of hours/years of test flights and calibration to get to where we are in v10. For every little change Austin does, the whole aircraft needs a recalibration! If you do not understand this - and apparently you don't - it's like if "God" (austin) decided to change the real world atmosphere and Newtons laws of physics no longer applied like they used to, I can assure you not a single real Boeing aircraft would be flying anymore, all their engineers would have a heart attack and everyone would take a train for years to come... So, when you are aiming at the level of accuracy we are, we need to do it properly. "Quick fixes" to something that wasn't very accurate to begin with is very simple and done in an evening like many designers do, but it is not how things work at IXEG. As for the other stuff, visuals, 3D, systems etc, that is off course not that XP version dependent and we have been doing preparations for XP11 on those.   21. You are absolutely right, XP11 opens up possibilities in some areas, especially visually, but in others it is a temporary setback - like on the flight model side of things. As for the systems side I don't think a lot has changed. New XP versions are always a headache for designers initially We definitely would like to be at one of the big sim events this year, so maybe we could meet up and "burn some fuel" It is still a beta and will be for a while as far as we are concerned no matter what they call it We are currently working on v1.1 for XP10, then work on XP11 will officially start.   23. There is no such thing as a "final" XP release Expect XP11 to be buggy and "under construction" to atleast XP 11.1 (from experience). So at what point we will release an update depends on LR and what we find of errors and bugs. We *might* release a patch with the most pressing known issues first, we'll see how things develop and what we will find that you guy's havn't.
  24. XP11 has major changes to the flight model. Once XP11 is stable we will start the recalibration process of the aircraft. So yes, eventually we will have 2 separate aircraft. M
