  1. I understood his point and agree that there is truth in what he is saying about media reviews but the way he went about discrediting the guy as a nobody looking for some free software came off as being an elitist. With that said Cameron I have always respected your opinion and looking back at this with objectivity I'm glad to see calmer heads prevail. Regardless I should not have used the derogatory remarks to describe Ben's action, it was inappropriate and I openly apologize to him for that.
  2. Stating a person is "Acting like X" vs. is an "X" is a different; but your point is valid, taken, and understood.
  3. I thought the same thing and decided to sub to his channel. Glad to see your a bit more open minded and not set on believing the guys out for some free chicken. You'll have to ask him that. Edit - Looks like Mr. Froogle replied while I X-posted.
  4. and this is exactly where you'll remain with this sort of attitude! Agreed your acting like a real D-bag! Then again I'm sure it matters little to you since I have zero rep with such a small number of posts and the fact I haven't published anything for XP
  5. I realize it's only been a week since the last post but any new news on the Saab's progress?
  6. My issue looks to be resolved by Mr. Ramzess Mod's can lock thread if desired
  7. Does such a thing exist in X-plane? All I really want to do is be able to program my hardware switches, knobs, axis attached to my (Leo Bonard) card so that they interface with the virtual cockpit controls of the aircraft I am using. I don’t like comparing FSX with X-plane but will in this case for the sake of clarity; what I am looking for is essentially something with the capabilities of FSUIPC. In XP10 I have looked at the following… XJoymap Button2Dataref (which is no longer supported) and the follow on FlyWithLua Threads on Teensy hardware and XPUIPC Unless I am missed something along the way, none of these support any sort of easy to understand and use GUI? With each program it seems the end user winds up using Dataref editor and then writing some form of code script. While some basic functions aren’t too complicated for me to understand, I’m not a programmer and the end result is usually frustration and I end up going back to controlling the aircraft with the mouse. What’s even more frustrating is even when I know the dataref being used to control a function I wish to program I still can’t seem to get it done. Is there any plug in available or that you might have used that is similar to FSUIPC with it’s mousetrap function that would make programming hardware in X-plane simple? Sorry if this post is not in the right place Admin. free to move it if you feel it belongs in under one of the other forum headers.
  8. Ok, jumped on the beta a bit too soon, thanks for the heads up!
  9. I decided to give the 64 bit beta a go but I am having a bit of an issue that maybe one of you could help me with? Prior to the update I could go to the drop down Plugins menu from within the sim and then select the "Plugin Admin" menu to select and/or de-select the plug ins I had loaded in my XP10>Resources>Plugins folder. When I go to that folder now all of the previous plugins I had loaded are still there but when I select the Plugin Admin menu from inside the sim it tells me I have no plug ins loaded? Am I doing something wrong, has the path srtucture changed? I don't see SASL, Gizmo, pilot view. etc. Thanks in advance!
  10. Any updates on the progress of your Saab project? Have had my eye on this one since hearing about it. A real shame American Eagle discontinued using them; I flew on them regularly between Dallas, TX and Lawton, OK. when I was stationed at Fort Sill.
  11. Very nice, and agree more airports in WA or Northwest are always appreciated. Pangborn in Wenatchee or Felts field in Spokane would also be cool. Thanks again for making KALW and KELN
  12. Tkler, I've always admired your posts over at the Avsim forums and can say that I'm really looking forward to your MU2 V2 as well as that classic 737. The Falco you speak of is it the one for sale here at xaviation? I've been eyeballing it, I cruised around in the Real Air SF260 a lot when FSX was my primary sim. Might have to pick that Falco up and add it to my GA fleet I fly inside of Airhauler to hold me over a bit; looks real nice.
  13. Ok, I searched for topics like "whiteout" and couldn't find anything. I hope Laminar is looking into fixing it?
  14. I have been flying a bunch in XP10RC3 Windows OS version and have been bothered by what I can only describe as an instant whiteout condition. (Not to be confused by by the low framerate fog) What seems to be happening is that from time to time while flying in weather that has a few clouds all of a sudden I get blanketed without any transition as if someone threw a sheet over the windshield. Then after a few minutes or a few seconds *boom* it's lifted and I have 10-25 miles of visibility again? Has this been happening to anyone else?
  15. Very…Very…Impressive! I have actually been avoiding this thread on purpose so as not to get too excited in anticipation but it’s hard, if not impossible, not to come back and admire the progress shots as they are posted. This is without a doubt a release date purchase.
  16. I have used TIR 4 (with V5 software) and XP10 for quite awhile. Other than a few anomalies it has worked fine. A few of the issues I have had are inconsistent axis tracking, and the occasional lost aircraft set. At times I have switched to a view of an overhead and when I move my head forward closer to the TIR instead of zooming I'll get movement along the Z axis. I have also loaded an aircraft which I have previously built presets for only to have them missing. The latter may not be due to Pilot View but updates to XP itself but either way it usually doesn’t take too long to make a new set. I am happy he made this plug-in very grateful indeed especially considering it's free but, I do miss the EZdoc program from FSX. I have not used it in a long time but felt that setting up the cameras was easier as well as the effects tuning but then again this is a payware program; one that I would purchase again if it were developed for XP. Until then Pilot View is a "must have" plug in for my simming needs.
  17. Actually if you read my post carefully, (it's always hard to interpret what happened from a third party perspective), this is exactly what I did. I sent my email to the developers support address when the org failed to provide me with a timely and working link to the product update. In that email I was critical of the .org store because one I was unhappy with how the support was being provided and two I was hoping the developer would consider offering their products via Simmarket. I have no affiliation with Simmarket at all its just they have always provided me with excellent product support a fair price, links that don't expire or vanish, basically the no hassle solution that Cameron is talking about. It was the developer who then forwarded my email to the .org store in order to get me a new link sent out. Whether the devloper chose to forward it "as is" because they were getting alot of these disgruttled consumer emails is unknown; I'm not trying to read too far into it. I didn't know the Admin who gave me the temp suspension was the same person until I went back an looked at the name on the email the devloper forwarded that message to. Then it all became perfectly clear. I can handle the minor hastles, I can even deal with the occasional poor service, I can EVEN deal with a little in-house sensorship (I mean it is their house) but, I refuse to do business with anyone or at anyplace that does all of the above and then insults me by calling me a winer, a troll and saying I'm not welcome there when all I asked for was a service they should have provided in the first place. Enough said, I'm moving on... I found the answer I was looking for. I feel welcome here and the moderator can close/ lock this thread if they want.
  18. Thanks. I would love to send that admin a copy of my order history a couple of years from now...I think my order history at Simmarket is about 4-5pages deep, probably a bit more at the FSX pilot shop, then there is all the Orbx stuff at flight sim.com, store, a few more at Flight One and then the independents...yeah certainly their loss not mine. Anyone know if the McPhatt ATR is out yet
  19. That’s good to know. The reason I asked is because I was handed a warning temp/suspension over there for nothing more than expressing my opinion on what I felt was a poor business practice. I made no mention of names, made no personal attacks and even put IMO at the end of my post that was quickly and subsequently removed. I was then dubbed a troll and told my “continuous whining was not welcome” by the admin who administered it. There’s always two sides to any coin and I’ll admit I was pretty critical of the .ORG store and how it supports the products it sells but, I made these criticisms in private not on the forum and not for anyone else (customers) to see. Turns out the developer forwarded my complaint to the .ORG store so they, the .org store, would send me a new or direct link to the update I was upset about being late to receive. (and when it did arrive it didn’t work) That person at the .org store turned out to be the Admin who hair triggered my suspension obviously for the criticism I made in private about his/their said business practice. He also told me during my admonishment that it’s a free country and I could take my business elsewhere. I intended to do just that. Considering I spend a significant amount of money to support my hobby I consider this their loss not mine. The major criticism I had is the way they handle support via email links and attached files through the external program “Usend it”. Emails address’s change and messages get missed. There is no place for me to just “go get” the update to the product I purchased, they don’t post a link or pin the file to download at my leisure. Instead I’m at their mercy to send it to me and then update. IMO that’s not a good practice Moreover, when they have offered free scenery with the purchase of a product etc. they don’t or didn’t provide the link to it. I had to email them and ask them to send it to me. Not that big of a deal but still not very user friendly but since it comes in the form of an attachment and not a downloadable link affiliated with your account you can’t go back and re-download it later if your system crashes or you upgrade. Again not a huge deal since I save all my files to an external hard drive but certainly not very elegant. I’m looking for a place that I can get a little less bias/censored view and a place to purchase my add-on’s with a comfortable level of support. I have purchased here in the past, LES DC3, and KILM and look to do more business in the future as more products become available that I want. Furthermore, I certainly noticed a direct link here to the patch I required over at the .org that I was supposed to wait for a link to? and what this spat was all about? That certainly won’t happen again. Don’t let my post count fool you; I’ve been simming for a long time. I’m not a troll, nor a whiner, I don’t have any agenda against the .org store I’m just a dissatisfied consumer looking for a more comfortable place to hang my hat if your experience with them has been better than mine, cool.
  20. Just curious if this site is affiliated with or have any business interest with the .ORG site/.ORG store?
